First I have to say that out of all the wineries out in the region this is probably the only one from the small producers that uses the website to control the flow of people to their home where they hold the tastings and presentations, which for a person trying to do the appointments from the US it is a big help. We have at the house at the specified time and as I have noticed already in other Burgundy, Alsace, and Champagne produces one need to look for a small plaque rather than a big advertisement of Open like we're used to in Finger Lakes. But I was really concerned for a little while that we were at the wrong place still since it looked more like a residence with a nice garden but reluctantly I rang the bell and Celine came to get us to go to the tasting room. Lo and behold this actually was their house and the tasting room was basically set up in a cellar of it. The tastings were actually ran by both Celine and Frederique and it is always much more interesting to hear stories of wine and land and grapes from the owners/vintners then from a hired hand. The wines were good but just a little shy of what we would have liked but still very very tasty so we got a couple of bottles for dinner that night. One thing of note I have to say that in a few years this couple is likely to get all the kinks of a 3 year old winery out and produce some wonderfully tasty wines. P.S. According to Celine they may be the only winery in Chablis that have a small plot and produce wines from Sauvignon Blanc. This year they also have Sacy, which they didn't have last year when we visited, which means I have to go again (rare grapes) is a particular weak spot of mine.

Our hostess, Celine, had decorated the visitors suite with comfort and shabby chic charm, incorporating all the necessities. There are many maps and guides books to help plan a visit to nearby wineries, villages, towns, historic sights, hiking and biking trails. We arrived at the start of Spring with sunny days and cool nights. The bed is firm with nice linens, the shower has plenty of hot water and the towels are big and soft.. There's a tv and an electric kettle to make a cup of tea and a bottle of her husbands wine to share. Celine prepared a delicious plate of cheeses and charcuterie for our first night and made dinner reservations the next night at a CHABLIS hot spot full of winemakers and local residents just a few minutes drive from Domaine Gueguen. Breakfast is included and featured fresh croissants, baguettes, cheeses, ham, butter, jam, fresh squeezed o.j,, coffee, tea, yogurt and fruit. It is served in her modern kitchen overlooking the garden, swimming pool and rolling hills of Chardonnay vines. Frederic Gueguen offers their guests a wine tasting in the cellar below. He produces several styles of CHABLIS including an unusual variety of Sauvignon blanc in addition to the Chardonnays. We visited nearby Auxerre where we spent a morning seeing the cathedral and the medieval center of half timbered buildings and had a light lunch on the riverside. We highly recommend the Domaine Gueguen B&B and plan to return in future. We had good email communication before arrival.

During the tasting you can learn exactly where the grapes were grown nearby. Such delicious wine, and the cremant certainly rivals the champagne we tasted in Epernay. You can also book to stay onsite with airbnb and there are lovely accommodations. Would recommend this beautiful location!

A place to have a glass of very good wine even if you are just passing through…read more Unlike most other places where I have set up appointments to visit to taste wines Jean-Marc Brocard was just a place we have decided to drop in unannounced but were welcomed nonetheless and with selections of wonderful wines from various Crus of Chablis as well as wonderfully fruity Aligote. While appointments are better to have to get a tour of the winery it may be possible to simply have a tasting by dropping in.

The winery is beautiful, with fabulous views and a trip to the basent where we can see the exposed rocks and fossil earth that the vines grown on. There were wines at many different price points so we were able to comfortably buy some wine to safe, some to gift and some to enjoy right away. If you'd like to tour in English it's probably best to call in advance.

Came to visit Chablis last year in June after probably the worst Spring anyone had seen in a long…read moretime, cold, wet, so it was to be expected to be busy but nonetheless the experience was amazing but let's start from the beginning. We drove up from Chablis and my thought on the drive was: "Wow this is tucked away!" but I digress. We come up to the winery and the gates are open so we drive in park and start looking for the office or a tasting room or someone to talk to as we had an appointment but noone was there just a phone number to call in case of you needed help. So we dialed it spoke to a gentlemen (whom actually did the tasting for us and turned out to be the owner Guillaume Vrignaud) who came a couple of minutes later to give us a tour and tasting. From what we saw in the weather during that summer I can't really blame him for being even busier in the vineyards then he already was given the amount of rain that was falling and temperature variations from +10C to +26C from day to day. But I still digress. He ushered us into the storage area where the wine is stored before shipping and then to the tasting room which was set directly to the side with a long table and refrigerator with wines. And that's where the heaven began. :) We had a real pleasure with tasting the full range of wines from Petit Chablis, Chablis, and the Premier Crus including Le Vaucoupin Fourchaume. (No Grand Crus unfortunately since the US Distributor got it all). And wines were heavenly absolutely heavenly. And I am currently searching for places that actually carries them because our supply that we bought that day is running sort of low...

I've tried a lot of wine in recent years but I know jack about Chablis. Now growing up you didn't…read morehear much about this wine where I'm from and some would call it Chab-bliss (imagine this in a redneck sort of way). Well the folks at Benu introduced us to this great vintner via the 2009 Fourchaume. I prefer the Meursault style wines generally but up in the north of the Burgundy region they're doing some great things too. 4.3 stars.
