I draw attention to this newsagents because it is home to a man so gravelly-voiced and mumbling that, despite the fact I've been coming here for years, I don't think I've ever managed to decipher a single word he's ever said to me. I usually just go on the routine of first holding up what I want and saying 'This please'. Then I presume whatever he says next is the price. I hand over a sum of money more than the product is worth. That way I'm safe.
Knowing my luck I'll get involved in a vast thornbush of a political conspiracy one day and for some reason this man will be my only hope so I'll have to listen very carefully to what he says, a task that is already sounding harder than the Hulk's PIN number. read more
