I immediately noticed that they didn't skimp on the toppings. I got a Moe's Surpreme (minus the green olives, because, ick.) which had bacon (which was maple flavoured - fun!), pepperoni, green pepper, onion, and a heck of a lot of cheese. My favourite part was the sauce - delish! The perfect amount of tanginess and there was lots of it. The gluten-free crust was okay...that being said I've never really had a delicious GF crust. The crispier parts were the tastiest! My only issue with this place was the price. We order two medium pizzas (one gluten-free), two garlic dipping sauces and a 2L bottle of pepsi and it came to just over $55 with a tip. Just a little hefty for me. Their regular (non-fusion) pizza is good, but their Indian-fusion pizza is the best I've ever had. And their pickup/walk-in specials are so awesome. You can get an XL 2-toppings pizza for $12.95. On my first visit I got 2 to share with my parents, brother and nieces (we had leftovers). The first pizza was for the adults and an Indian-fusion pizza. I got regular crust, butter sauce, half butter chicken and spinach, half tandoori chicken and red peppers. The second pizza was for the kids and was a regular non-fusion pizza. I got regular crust, regular pizza sauce, half double ham, half double pepperoni, with green olives on both sides. One kid only eats pepperoni and the other kid only eats ham, but they both love olives. Green olives are a free topping at Red Swan, by the way (how awesome is that?!?) I am going to dream about that butter chicken and tandoori chicken pizza. It was so good. The sauce and meat were so flavourful. The meat was lean and tender. All the adults loved it (the kids refused to try any, no surprise there). We had some leftovers and I brought some home to my husband who wasn't able to join us for lunch and he loved it too. He actually said "so everytime you go visit your parents in Orleans, can you stop at Red Swan on your way back and get us this pizza?" I don't think he was joking either. I was hot, didn't want to make the house hotter, and so we went out. And for once, I felt like Pizza. Hubster did not say no! They have 3 or 4 tables, with a TV on that you can watch while you wait (or eat your pizza there). They said it would take about 20 minutes and they were about right. The pizza was a thick crust (which is what I prefer), with lots of cheese. We ordered pepperoni, mushrooms, and tomato. It was good. I like that the pepperoni wasn't too hot and spicy. And the pizza stayed good and warm until we got home (although I admin that we don't live far). They could have covered more of the crust with sauce and stuff, but overall it was good. This place is brand spanking new. It's been open for only 2 weeks. It takes over the space of the former Swiss Pastries. The place is modern-looking and clean. Their menu is simple. They do pizzas and salads. They also have a small selection of desserts from local bakeries. They are licensed and serve wine and beer. They have soft drinks, water, San Pellegrino sodas, and Ottawa's own Harvey & Vern's sodas. However, they do not serve coffee nor tea. You order your pizza and pay at the cash register, then when your pizza is ready, they bring it to your table. They have Signature Pizzas (pre-set combinations) ranging in price from $8.95 to $12.85. Or you can build your own pizza. The base pizza is $8.55 (+$4 if you want gluten-free) which comes with your choice of sauce, and your choice of cheese (+$2 if you want dairy-free Daiya cheese). Basic toppings (mostly vegetables) are $1.35 each, and premium toppings (mostly meats) are $2.35. Salads range from $4.65-$8.45 depending on size and type. I built my own pizza with Fiazza red sauce, Fiazza cheese blend, artichokes, roasted broccoli and roasted BBQ chicken. It was fantastic. I loved the thin crust. The pizza wasn't too saucy, and they were not stingy with the toppings. I liked that the sauce was nice and light, and not overwhelming. The pizza also did not taste overly greasy/oily, which I appreciated. I liked that the cubes of chicken were lean breast meat and not gristly. Overall, I really enjoyed my pizza. The only thing that disappointed me on my visit was that I got a bottle of water and I asked for a glass to pour it into. They gave me a glass from behind the counter, and when I got to my table I realized that it was not clean; it had lip prints on it. Needless to say, I just drank my water straight from the bottle. I feel that better care needs to be taken on the dishwashing front here. Staff were friendly and efficient. My estimate is that the place seats about 35-40 people. Fiazza is in the same plaza as Natural Food Pantry and Bushtukah. There is a small parking lot with limited parking spaces.
