I happened to be passing here and I couldn't see much other food choice about the area I found myself in, so it was this place or nothing. The service here was friendly and it was fairly prompt. For £4.99 I got a personal pizza - in this case personal just means small - and an equally small garlic bread with it. I could have had potato wedges instead of the garlic bread. I did ask if the garlic bread could be made quite garlicky and I was told yes, but it really wasn't. There was also a can of soft drink included in the price, with a range of choice for instance: Fanta lemon, orange, Coke and Diet Coke. I opted for a spicy pizza - tandoori chicken & chorizo with red chilli, red onion and sun dried tomatoes. The heated pizza smelled of unpleasant cheap meat, particularly the deep red chorizo. Thankfully there wasn't much meat on the pizza. It had just the right amount of chilli spice heat but the initial heat kick faded too quickly. I was surprised at just how much oil had soaked into the pizza box cardboard base but then fish & chips can be greasy too, but oil from a small pizza? I guess most of the oil came out of the highly processed cheap vivid red meat. Then the not so garlicky garlic bread which was a real disappointment because of the lack of garlic taste. So was this £4.99 lunch tasty, well it was ok, but the pizza had an unpleasant aftertaste. Would I buy this lunch again: no. Did I finish it, no. Would it encourage me to buy a large Domino's pizza, no. Do I think £16.50 for a large pizza here is worth it. Absolutely not but 2 for 1 Tuesday night at least brings the cost nearer to its value if there isn't a better choice about. read more
