A friend shared an experience on Facebook that reached hundreds of people, myself included. As I come from the indigenous community myself I have to say it is absolutely disgusting to allow racism to take place in an establishment. Especially seeing as we're First Nations people and we face discrimination everyday. These two young people were doing a workshop for indigenous youth nearby and wanted a bite to eat.. they were sat next to an intoxicated patron who kept bumping his gf's chair, he apologized but then kept staring at them as they received their food. My friend asked him politely to stop staring at them, and the man challenged my friend to which he said no, they just wanted to leave. The server told the man to calm down and he told the server, "You know better than to serve those Indians". My friend and his gf left but the intoxicated patron was allowed to stay, and was continued service. I'm sorry but even if you allow racism in your establishment it must mean you are too. Just wanted to share in case any native Americans were planning on eating here! Don't go! read more
