We had a slight noise in our 2018 Dodge Ram PW, we took it to get an oil change and it got louder. No, it wasn't the oil guys. We've had this truck 5 years and it only had 11 miles on it $49,000 later here we are. We babied this truck. The day in question, we had it towed to Don Bessette thinking they had our back. Not so. This is a full month later and I had to get a call from one of the mechanics telling me that it went from a $1,300 fix to $1900, now who knows what. it was a stuck full injector, then it was the lifters, now its the cam shaft! He came right out and with a big sigh, asked me what kind of vehicle we were interested in and thats what hed do because unless I wanted to fork out the "Big Money" it probably wasnt getting fixed!! After talking to Mike in the service area and hearing him say hes looked at problem like this for this truck on YOU TUBE!! I SHOULD HAVE YANKED IT RIGHT OUTTA THERE! Now Imwaiting to be able to go get it unfixed and having to spend who knows how much money on it! SCAMMERS!! This place is a Scam i wouldn't buy my car from them !! .lf i could i would give them 0 out of 5 stars. i bought a 2017 chevy cruze paid 10,000 put 2000 down .not even a month later the car breaks down while im driving .i have to get it towed back to don bassett this was on a saturday there not opened till Monday so i have to wait till monday so they can take a look .when monday comes i call them and they tell me there booked for a few days .they want be able to take a look at it .the guy on the phone even said that's the price you pay for buying a car with 100,000 miles on it like wtf . after some back fourth they tell me they will be able to look at it .they call me back at 5 and tell me there's a leak in the transmission , and it could of been leaking for about month .the icing on the cake they can't fix it there i have to find a car dealer ship that does and they don't know if it's covered under my warranty .i have to wait until who ever i take it to tells me where the leak is .the person who sold me the car mark never texted me back even once asking if i could get a loan car or anything .worst car experience ever read more

My family and I have been purchasing vehicles from Don Bessettes for at least 35 years. They have treated us like family. I am now going to start shopping today for a vehicle for our daughter and the first person I called was Terry Epps. One thing people have to remember when buying used is they or you don't really know what you are getting when you purchase a used vehicle. Sales people can not see into the future, so nobody should be expecting a used car not to have a few problems IT'S USED!! And you don't know how hard it was used. Not everyone takes care of their vehicles till it's time to trade. That's when they change all the fluids and actually clean it to look like it's worth a good amount in trade. I have been working with Don Bessettes for years and they are a 5 stare dealer. That's why I am headed there today. read more

It's a shame I can only give them one star. I had forgotten about Don Bessette until yesterday and now today. I went to them to buy a vehicle and they showed me a nice 2006 Hyundai that had 36000 miles on it and was in good condition. I agreed and really liked that vehicle. The salesman said ok let's do this. Suddenly that car is gone and there is a van . . . it's a 2008 with 150K miles on it, hasn't been cleaned, has new tires but needs everything else. The wheel bearings were going, the engine was sketchy, the transmission was sketchy, turns out the starter was going within 2 days , the interior was filthy, there were four tires sitting in the back end, and over all this was just a disgusting and horrible vehicle. I was backed into a corner because I had to have a vehicle and they told me this was probably the last one I would be able to get. Within a couple of days, the starter had gone out 700 plus dollars. Within another few days the radiator busted. And it just kept going on until a few months later when the starter system caught fire and the van became a paper weight. They convinced the lender that this was a great vehicle. When I tried to tell the lender it was not it was "take it or leave it" and then the same with Bessette. I would NOT recommend this dealership for anything. Not buying a car and not having them do work. Why they have not been investigated by someone is beyond me. The mechanic shop guys are scam artists. They will make u think they are reliable and trust worthy the first visit. but then rip you off when you come back. The first time i went in there they were so helpful and i was literally astonished by how great the level of customer service was. Had a flat tire, they plugged it up, off i went $15 out of pocket 2nd time back i had a flat tire and needed a wheel ballance and oil n air filter changed. told me i had bent the wheel its self and needed to replace all four tires. would have cost around $2000 I told them it was too much right now just balance it best they could n ill come back. they told me it was so bent they had placed 1lb of weights on that wheel to level it out best they could. Ok it will last me for short time i guess. Still had some vibration though. Inspected the "bent wheel" seemed to have teh same amount of weights on it as the others ( 2 or 3)..hmmm?.... So i Ended up replacing my tires from another shop because tred was getting low and i had suspected they might be full of it at Don Bessette. Asked the guys at the new place as they were doing it if there was 1lb of weights on the suspected bent wheel. .... "No, it just needed an extra weight to stop the wheel from vibrating" Pretty much as i had expected. So dont believe everything they tell you! if your car made it into the shop chances are it will make it down teh road so you can get a second opinion. While i was waiting at don besset i was speaking with a ladt who cam in for an oil change and was told she needed all this other stuff. She had been there 3.5 hours. So i wasnt the only one they were scamming. read more

I'm giving this 1 star only because I can't give them 0 as the DESERVE!!! Apparently I just paid $1100 for these people to break and damage my vehicle more then it was when I first drop it off at, because clearly they don't know how to fix a damn vehicle or hold up to what they tell you. They try to claim that they didnt say that and talk about how they have worked there for suck amount of time. I straight up told them what was wrong and what I wanted fixed, but do they listen, No! Then when I ask for the old parts that they supposedly replace, I get told they threw the out after replacing them. Not only that, I then pay the other $530 they said it cost to fix it, but guess what? Now they want $3500 because what they were planning wasn't gonna work. Either you know what your doing and know how to work on cars, or you just make plans to do something you don't even know will work. When he told me that what he was planning wasn't gonna work, I then knew in my own opinion that these people don't know shit about fixing cars. I wish I had been warned about this ripoff service and the damages that would come along with it. Save your money and take your vehicle somewhere else, these people can't be trusted! read more

Less than impressed with Sales and Service. They'll rip you off, nicely. My 2011 Sonata has been at Don Bessette for two months. The engine seized in August and quite frankly, as "nice" as the Service Department is, they are very lazy. There were issues with my warranty and I had to make all the calls, and when I resolved it, they once again dragged their feet to get my car fixed. At the same time, I stated interest in trading in the car. The salesman, while kind, continued to insist that they can get cars sent from Carrington. We specifically told him that we were interested in a GMC Terrain. Here we are, two month later, and he was too lazy to get the Terrain. His loss--my husband and I were at some point, 75% likely to buy it. Now? ZERO CHANCE. We constantly had to call Service for Updates. They didn't call us for anything, even though the service manager insisted they would. Finally, a month ago, The salesman calls saying the engine is covered (really?). We then call Service, and they said it was covered but the Engines were on back order and they had no idea how long it would take. My husband asked about a rental, and the Service Department began stammering about how they didn't ask, because they were sure we were buying a car and wouldn't need one. Gee Thanks! They once again, state they will get back to us. They call back, and say that Hyundai will cover a rental. However it is only 10 days. So they say, for the 50th time, they will let us know when they have more information on the engine. This was about three weeks ago. So today, I get a call stating that my car is done and to pick it up, and there's $500 that isn't covered. Thanks for calling about the rental! So now I owe money for frivolous "uncovered parts", and I don't even get a rental? It's hilarious they think I'd buy a car from them now. Funny thing is, my Husband is trading in his truck soon and we still would've bought a car...now, we certainly won't be going back for service or a sale. read more

I have taken my cars and truck there for repair on many occasions and never had an issue. I know that in the past they had problems in the past with prior manager that was running the service dept. But this new Manager is willing to work with you and restructured the whole service dept. They even helped with my warranty filing a claim for repairs. I have a Mazda 2017 CX5 which had a Power steering malfunction,front camera censor system malfunction and forward smart city break support malfunction. Replaced 2 major parts under warranty and found a loose connection which was causing my power steering malfunction. Not easy to find but was treated well. Car is working well since getting it back July 25th, 2017. No complaints. Being from Montana, they paid for rental cars for two weeks and were helpful. Service team was good. Thank You! read more

I wish there was an option to give 0 stars! When I was looking to purchase 2 years ago I read reviews and thought wow, I've never had anything close to a horror story like most of these reviews... Fast forward 2 years... What a joke this dealership is, along with everyone at the stealership in Minot. I bought a Yukon Denali and was told to take out the extended BUMPER to BUMPER warranty because if the suspension system goes bad on a Denali it's around $4,000 to fix. Boom, that was the selling pitch and I took out the $3000 extended warranty just because of that reason. I had gone in for a regular oil change and told them I could hear squeaking in the rear passenger side and they said they would take a look. After checking out the squeak I was told the struts were going bad but not bad enough to be covered under warranty (there was no physical defects)... okay, that didn't make sense I did some digging and the customer service rep in the service department had no idea what she was talking about and told me to give the warranty company itself a call and see if I could have a certified inspector come out and take a look. I did just that, I was told by CNA that a Denali doesn't even have struts it has shocks and shocks were not covered. At that point I took my vehicle to another shop to see what actually was going on. Come to find out my rear brakes are complete shot, which is where the squeaking noise was coming from, and that my rear air bag shock absorbers are the worst he has ever seen, there were actual holes in it (so yes, there was physical defect). After many calls between CNA itself and Bessette's the BUMPER to BUMPER warranty I was sold because "if the suspension system goes out it's $4000 to fix" really doesn't cover it. I should have taken the vehicle back after the service suspension light came on about a week after I drove it off the lot, but I was told "it's one of the flaws of the Denali, the light comes on and off all the time." Please if you're in the market for a new vehicle save yourself the hassle and thousands of dollars you will lose here at Don Regrets! read more

Do not take your jeep to this dealership. My daughter took her car there for an oil change and she asked that they look at her tire pressure sensor. They ended up charging her an outrageous fee of over $500. The car was only six months old and should have been under warranty. They said the charge was because the wheels where not factory, but I bought they from a Jeep dealership. read more

this place is a stealership not a dealership sales you expect to be sleazy.. That's a given. You come in well prepared. Service you gain a little more trust but you got to throw them a bone when they try to work with you if they lose your key they are human people lose things. It's the parts department that you have to watch out for they'll give you 2 different prices for 2 different parts. My buddy had to mention we were from out of town we got the higher price. When we called back to get a price from a "local" and used a friend who speaks with a with drawl to make the call he got a better price much better. i wrote a review but didnt download sooooo my experience was not at all good my salesman ( scott ) could not keep his word on our deal our deal was put my bed on new truck . put on a brush guard and spare set of keys after two weeks he said it was done went to get it and no brush guard or spare keys he says you can have brush guard or spare keys i said our deal was guard and spare key so i brought truck home and text wends to find out about getting guard and keys on sat like we discussed and his last text to me ( his exact words ) call byan ( Don't text me again .or contact ) so sat 11-7 i went up there got brush guard put on but key would not work sooooo they sent me to chevy dealership for key soooooooo i'm not at all happy with my experience but Don and the rest were good to me thanks folks read more
