    Cheesesteak Quesadilla
    Caroline S.

The food was good! I have heard a lot of my friends rave about this place so I wanted to go with some friends. We enjoyed our time here. We each ordered something different. I ordered the cheesesteak quesadilla and it was very cheesy which I loved. I typically order quesadillas when I go to Mexican restaurants and this was one of the better ones I've had out. The margaritas were strong and tasted great as well!

Hubby surprised me, and said get in the truck we are going to Knoxville. Ha, I thought it was shopping. No way we came here for a late lunch. It is a ways from home. But as long as I'm not driving, I do not care. I drive all week an hour each way to work. We were greeted upon entry, and sat right away. The place was not super busy, but picked up as time passed. Warm chips salsa and sweet tea came fairly quick. I pondered over the menu along time, and decided to get the Classico taco's.( Pork, beef,& chicken) each taco seasoned uniquely differently! It had sweet chopped onions with fresh cilantro. Beans and rice. It was some of the best tacos I have had in TN. Oh and hubby loves faquitas so he went with the chicken and steak. he was pleased with lots of red and green peppers plus the onions. He had pico and rice. The rice was so good, I love it when each dish is flavorful, and fresh.

First time having the Tostadas Chonas (pictured). It was really good, and next time, I'll try chicken. The service was friendly and fast. Don's is one of HV's best; however, they currently close at 930pm on Friday (so get there before close).

The cheesesteak quesadilla did not taste right to me. Chips were cold. Salsa tasted rotten. Rice and beans were fairly good.

Tomo Poke Bowl had some good reviews so we gave it a try. The most difficult part of this experience was trying to find the business. It is located in a large commercial strip mall with Sunago Coffee being the flagship business in the very front of the complex, facing Hardin Valley Road. The building is on the southeast corner of Hardin Valley and Valley Vista Roads, and Tomo Pole Bowl is tucked into the south west corner and faces Valley Vista Road. Now that the directions are out of the way, for the food. Fantastic! It was unbelievable good. Fresh. Colorful. Delicious. and the sushi chef, Michael, is an artist. We sat at the sushi bar and watched as he meticulously crafted several sushi entrees, each dollop, drop and slice of yummy goodness artistically arranged. So appetizing. Almost too good to eat they were so pretty. We ordered the Hardin Valley Roll and the Rainbow Roll (both pictured in this review). Michael even threw in a free appetizer of friend salmon skins because it was our first time. Soooo good! They have a great beer selection, friendly staff and the restaurant was clean. This will definitely be on our list of repeats.

Located in an established strip mall by a high-traffic intersection at Kingston Pike and S. Peter's, Greens and Grains is easy to get in and out of with plenty of parking. The interior is spotlessly clean (including the restrooms!) and comprised of two connected dining areas and kitchens. One has a trendy, airy feel with cool green and white tones, while the other is darker with metal and wood elements, a game area, and a large open grill/prep area. The reason for the two different vibes was not immediately clear to me. Actually, it never became more clear during the hour or so I spent there, but I can appreciate a good mystery. This is NOT a fast food joint. In fact, it is slow. Agonizingly slow if you're in a hurry. This is a place to come when you are with a group of people you find highly entertaining (or when you heft along a great book) and don't mind waiting. After ordering two sandwiches and sides, my friend and I waited almost 20 minutes for our food to appear at our table. The macaroni salad was pleasantly flavorful, without the overcooked noodles and runny sauce so often found with this deli counter staple. The turkey and Brie was also good and grilled to buttery-crisp perfection. The sandwich, side, and a drink cost just under $20, so it's neither bargain-priced nor exotic, but fresh ingredients are not cheap. Only one employee was working in each of the two halves of the restaurant, so I imagine if they want to speed up their service, they are going to need to schedule more people. The two employees were both delightfully friendly, though, and they aren't just paying lip service to customer service, a goal plainly outlined on all the napkin dispensers and evidenced by their actions. Despite the slow service, I'm giving them a 5 for their dedication to quality ingredients and excellent customer service. I hope they make it for the long haul, and I'll definitely be back soon.

Plus, the purchase price of their chips goes to charity - it was fun picking our charity of choice. Service was excellent! The staff was enthusiastic and I must add "adorable". I'm returning next week.

We were fortunate to find the one table that was open and got seated fairly quickly. There were TVs showing the game everywhere, so every seat offered a good view. However, if sports aren't your thing and you're hoping for a nice, quiet dinner where you can chat, it's best to check the sports schedule and skip this spot. It was difficult to hold a conversation with all the fans and their emotional outbursts. LOL. The service was slow but friendly whenever a server came around. The food was pretty good. We started with Gene's Wings, accompanied by traditional hot sauce and Thai garlic sauce. The wings were tasty but quite small, so if you're hungry, don't just order six. The hot sauce was as expected and delicious, but I wouldn't recommend the Thai sauce. I'll skip that one next time. I ordered the Mushroom Swiss Burger, while my partner chose the Chicken Pot Pie. The burger was decent but not remarkable. I often know a burger will be average when they don't ask how I want it cooked--it's usually just smashed and well done. On the other hand, the pot pie was excellent and a generous portion. The crust wasn't overly sweet, and my partner, who is quite particular about pot pies, really enjoyed it. Overall, it was a good experience, and we'd consider coming back if we're in the area.
