They just recently was purchased by Serra Automotive Group. Bought my Camry here when they were Don Jacobs. Came in this time for a recall, oil change, and tire rotation. Had a 7:00 appointment. Much of the operation is the same as when it was Don Jacobs. This dealership is not as large as some of the other ones in the area (Wilde, Brookfield, etc), but I have felt like they try hard to keep up. I "think" they did a good job. But took way to long, longer than they had promised. Even though I was the first car in the garage at 7:00 am. It took 6 hours for the work. And because of the delay, I had to get a shuttle home, with added another hour of my personal time. If they had given me a timely update (about the delay) I could have gotten a ride home on my own. When I picked up my car at 6:00pm, I discovered that they no longer have a cashier. So I had to wait another 15 minutes while a Service Writer was freed up to process my payment, and give me the keys. And even though they did the Multi Point inspection, they never went over the results with me. (looks like my Front Disc Brakes are in the "yellow" range). Not their best showing. If I could give zero stars, I would. Google Review already posted. As an active duty military member, I strongly urge anyone who is active, reserve, or prior military to avoid doing business with Serra Toyota of Milwaukee. My wife and I were preapproved for two auto loans through Navy Federal Credit Union and had equity in two vehicles. After working with several dealerships, we chose to work with Julius Jackson at Serra Toyota. Julius was fantastic--professional, respectful, and genuinely helpful. We wanted him to earn our business and commission. We informed the dealership of our preapproval, agreed on pricing, and placed a down payment to hold two vehicles. One of the cars was already allocated and en route to the dealership. When we arrived to finalize paperwork, Julius showed my wife the car, helped her pair her phone, and even swapped keys--all before we sat down with the finance team. While it felt premature, we trusted the process. Then came the issue. Finance Manager Joe Colletta asked for our bank draft and then questioned the interest rate. Upon hearing it, he tried to push us to finance through the dealership. We declined. He appeared frustrated and left. When he returned, he claimed they couldn't accept the Navy Federal bank draft because it wasn't a cashier's check, stating that in his experience, 75% of Navy Federal drafts bounce and most dealerships don't accept them. This was completely contrary to my experience and that of countless fellow service members. I challenged his claims, and another finance team member repeated the same story. I stepped outside and called Navy Federal directly. They confirmed that bounce issues only occur when dealerships fail to follow the draft instructions properly or have internal banking issues. I returned with the correct instructions from Navy Federal and asked them to proceed with the draft or I would walk away. Executive Manager Dustin Boundy backed the finance team's refusal and refunded our down payment. We then went to Kenosha Toyota, just 15 minutes away, and purchased the same vehicle at the same price--same day--with zero issues using the exact same bank draft. Their finance team even laughed at Serra Toyota's inability to follow simple instructions. This experience was deeply disappointing and felt discriminatory toward military banking practices. Serra Toyota lost two guaranteed sales due to misinformation, poor customer service, and an unwillingness to work with a reputable financial institution. read more

Service department damaged my car. Service manager admitted fault. Upon picking up my car for a scheduled oil change I noticed deep scratches on the right front bumper. After speaking to the dealership about the scratches they told me they were extremely sorry & would like to give me a free car wash for the inconvenience. What a JOKE!! I don't usually write reviews, but this one's worth sharing. I bought a vehicle for my high-mileage job, planning to trade it in every year or so. When I went to do that this year, I found $7,000 in hidden warranties buried in my loan--completely killing any equity. During a rushed finance process, I was told it was a basic maintenance plan. It wasn't. I unknowingly signed off on it. I asked the salesperson and finance manager for a refund--flat out denied. No options, no solutions, no accountability. If they'd made any effort to fix it, I would've gladly worked a new deal and stayed a customer. Instead, it felt like they knew they screwed me and didn't want to face it. This place is predatory. I took my car for an inspection to check the safety recall for Airbag and when they return to me, the little parts for the back chairs where you put the car seat were stolen for them. I came back and they just said "Sorry" we can't do nothing about just go to the place where you bought your car. To whoever is reading this, please do not buy a car (new or used) from Don Jacob's Toyota. The people who work for don Jacob's are rude, condescending, and scam artists. Unfortunately, I did not hear that upper management joke with each other about never buying used cars from the same place they manage until after I bought a used car. This was relayed to me during a ride home from one of their own service employees. After I financed a used car for over $14,000, the car immediately needed its ENGINE REPLACED and has non stop had major issues. I honestly do not believe that a certified dealer/ shop did not know the car had problems before I drove it off the lot. A car that costs more than $14,000 should never need its engine replaced, front axle replaced, front and back suspension replaced, engine mounts replaced and much more. I had multiple appraisals value my car, that I unfortunately bought at Don Jacob's, at less than $1,000. Don Jacob's Toyota is very very quick to write you up a bill for how much money you owe then but when it comes to having a warranty, things really slowed down. My warranty cost me $2,500 over the course of financing and was met with denial of having the warranty. Days later after don Jacob's eventually found the warranty, it was a battle that took weeks to be approved. I am beyond infuriated with my experience with Don Jacob's and will do my best to tell as many people as possible to never do business with them. According to the many poor reviews, I am not the only person who is infuriated these poor business practices. You simply do not take advantage of people who have multiple family members who have bought multiple cars from this dealer. Don Jacobs Toyota has taken advantage of me for the first and last time. Only thing nice for me to say is that Bernard is the man, no BS type of guy and I have a lot of respect for him. The woman in financing left a bad taste in my mouth and showed probably the worst display of professionalism I've ever seen. When someone comes in and states, "I will only allow you to run my financing through so and so bank," you should probably not ignore them and do things your way. You should also probably not get angry when a customer tells you no; arguing with a customer is beyond rude and a magnificent way of losing future business. 6 hours for a requested wheel balance check. 4 hours in I return to the dealership and they feed me some crap explanation of exhaust against cross member. If this was the case it would be rattling and all the time, not just at 60-65mph, as described to all the service reps. All this WITHOUT DOING THE REQUESTED WHEEL BALANCE! They then do the requested wheel balance and without admitting that was the problem they scooted me out the door for a nominal fee. Initially they were saying 190$ for diagnostics...they sure are glad it wasn't that much. The next day i took the truck to a very trusted area mechanic and they found both rear tires out of balance...IMAGINE THAT!! I drove the truck home and had no wobble or vibration!!! Talk about a company that stands behind themselves and backs up their word. I'm very happy to be writing this review of Don Jacob's Toyota on 27th Street. Floor Manager Mike Hogan respectfully listened to me and is standing behind their product. There were some issues with my car purchase, and I was worried that I may be up Schitt's Creek with it being a used car (2023 10k miles). Don Jacobs did what a reputable dealership would do and were in contact with me to remedy the situation. This could have gone a thousand different ways, but it went the right one. If anyone is looking for a Toyota and is reading this review, give Don Jacobs a chance. Please save your money and headache and stay away from Wilde Toyota because I know for a fact, they will not be giving the same treatment. I want to take the rest of this review to ensure I get a shout out to my wonderful Salesman JaiVionne (JV). JV is kind, patient, and willing to make sure I bought a car I liked and was right for me. His demeanor won me over and I knew right away I trusted him enough to give it a chance. Even though my new car had to spend time in the service and autobody department, Max and AJ from the Service Department are extremely pleasant to deal with. After talking with Chris in the AutoBody Department, I can say this company has a well-rounded crew of people. First time here for maintenace on my older Lexus. Spark plugs, alignment, gear oil drain and fill for differential. I can turn a wrench, but some things are better left to the pros! Making the appointment was easy. They offer shuttle service and a low cost rental car. (I passed on both). i dropped my car off a whole day early and they were able to get to it and finish it before my scheduled appointment. Tairie, my service advisor and Jose the Service Manager were very helpful and professional. They explained things, listened to my concerns, and the old plugs were saved as requested. There was some confusion in regards to the plugs I was getting. The work order said "standard plugs". Platinum and irridium are extra. I was not happy after noticing this after the fact. OEM plugs are irridium... As it turns out they did in fact install OEM irridium plugs at the price they told me. Tairie was able to prove it to my satisfaction. Service was excellent. They did good work and it was done quick. And the price? They were much cheaper than my former independent shop! So glad I called around! read more

Was charged $1100 for some basic service. Front windshield wipers weren't replaced but I was charged, oil change reminder sticker wasn't replaced, car wasn't washed. Was offered $1000 brake rotor resurfacing (what is this 1960???). Absolutely nothing wrong with the rotors. Called and left a message with reception, the service department called me back and said they didn't know what I needed. Called them back and left a message and explained everything again. Nobody picks up the phone in service but there are always 10 dudes standing around doing nothing. Called again in the morning and asked for a refund, was told I had to talk to service I asked why and was told "not my job". I swore and was hung up on. Four weeks ago I bought a 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid from Don Jacobs Toyota. Not only did salesperson Robert Araujo do an excellent job in explaining the details of the vehicle in a courteous and professional manner, finance person Joseph went the extra mile to get me a better interest rate than my credit union had originally quoted. He went back to my credit union that had pre-approved for car loan and questioned their rate they had quoted me. He got a quote 1.5% percent less . The car has been great, getting more than 60 'mpg on every tank of gasoline since purchasing. read more

I was in today, May 20th, for routine, covered 1 year service, which was done quickly and I assume correctly. However, I was shocked and VERY disappointed by the lack of systems in place to help protect your employees and customers during the Covid 19 situation.   My service advisor was Chris Williams and he was the only employee I saw, wearing any protective equipment, which was a face mask and gloves.  AND his station/desk was the ONLY place where I saw hand sanitizer or antibacterial wipes for disinfecting things. I went into the waiting area, No wipes in sight.  I saw a few customers, like myself, wearing face coverings of different types.   I went into the sales room, again NOTHING other than 1 big jug of hand sanitizer at the counter of the main reception area.  I did not see any type of sanitizer at any work station or any employee wearing anything, except again Chris Williams. Nor did I see any signs re: Covid 19 warnings or recommendations for safety. I decided to wait in the area with small cubicles and went to Chris W. service desk to get a wipe to clean the desktop in there, which was for my comfort.  As I wiped down the chair arms and the desktop an employee poked his head in the room and said, 'everything was wiped down an hour ago.'  Although I  thanked him for sharing, I was not convinced as the wipe was very dirty after I wiped the one desk. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in Don Jacobs Toyota's lack of providing any interest in protecting their employees or customers.  Shame on you!  Whether you believe in the recommended protections or believe the virus is just a hoax, you could have items out for customers to use, if they wanted to feel more protected. I never leave reviews for anything but I had such a bad experience over the weekend I will take the time to do so. I went to Don Jacobs Toyota on Friday 4/28/23 to look at 2016 Corvette (I've owned 4 in my life,) and made an appointment at 9am to see it after explaining I work nights and could come in after my shift to test drive it. I had also been there earlier in the week to see it but did not drive it. After getting there they had asked about a trade (I drive up in a late model BMW) and I said I wanted to trade it in, in which they seemed annoyed and stated they did not know I was trading in a car, but they never asked and I have never had an issue with trading in a car before. Shortly after they pulled the car up and explained to me that since it was a sports car I would need to be pre-qualified before a test drive. I have never needed to be "pre-qualified" as I have owned many cars, some sports cars, and have a great job and near-perfect credit. I thought that was odd, and that turned me off, but for some reason I stayed against my better judgement. I am a 50+ year old guy that could more than afford the car, not a 20 year old kid looking for a joy ride. I sit down with the salesperson and he gets the keys to the BMW and they have the appraiser look at it. Ironically the appraiser took my BMW for a test drive. I essentially sat at a desk by myself for about an hour and the salesperson asks if I can put money down, and I said "yes, but I don't understand what that to do with anything now as I have not driven the car" and I explained I was not going to buy a car without driving it. He then came back with a deal and he was going over payments (which I could easily afford, and I did mention that I had financing through my credit union) and I stated my trade was really the only number I had to see. The offer for the BMW was over $10,000 under KBB value, which I realize is just a guide, I have bought many cars in my life. I said to the salesman that we were just too far off, thanked him for his time and left for my car. The sales manager came out while I was leaving and then asked what I wanted for the car (I did tell the salesperson this) and I even came down to a lower number and stated that if they can do that to call me and I will come back. Think this is bad...it gets far worse. I go to bed and get up and there is a text asking how my visit went. I explained I was disappointed with the visit, as I went to honestly purchase the car (already talked with my credit union and had financing) and how I felt as though I was being judged, which I did not understand and how I did not find how this sales tactic could be effective or successful. I did hear back from Matt the Sales Manager and he was rude and condescending. He accused me of "storming out" (I didn't), mentioned that many customers want to take cars on a "joy ride" (I wasn't), how "serious buyers of these cars know how the process works (owned 4 Corvettes and other sports cars as I am an automotive enthusiast) and I have never been treated like this. The visit as a whole was terrible customer service and the texts after where just condescending and rude. I am the "Car Guy" that friends and co-workers go for advice, in fact I have accompanied a few to buy cars to make sure they were not taken advantage of, and I can guarantee that I will advise others to not visit this dealership after my experience. The worst place to buy a used car here. They charge a premium on a used 2012 Nissan Altima stating they have done a complete inspection while selling it and stating that if any issues come in 2-3 weeks they would take care of it for free. However, I was forced to send it for repairs with the malfunctioning passenger airbag light on within just 1 week of purchase and again in the next week for a check engine light for leaking EVAP. They charged me 289.23 $ stating they are giving me a 50% discount on the cost of repair: 45$ for part (canister purge valve ) and 553.46$ for the labor(more than 12 times the cost of the part ). While the authorized service dealer quoted 232$ for the repairs. I feel they jacked up the labor prices to fleece me while showing on the face a goodwill gesture of providing a 50% discount on the cost of repairs. I feel that a vehicle that is sold to a customer after full inspection should not get a passenger airbag sensor malfunction light or a check engine light in just 3 weeks' time of purchase. My wife and I stopped in last week, and followed up yesterday to obtain both new vehicle prices and a possible trade-in value on one of our vehicles... The sales woman (Ashley Hastings) was fantastic! She had vehicles by the door and ready to go when I arrived, as well as, having done research to ensure she could answer all of our questions... While largely sold at that point, it was just a matter of picking one of very few new vehicles on their lot, or waiting for a specific vehicle which was in transit and about one month out... We also needed to decide if we would trade an older vehicle, or keep it at our vacation home simply for transportation... Without going into detail, the sale quickly went south as the sales manager interjected himself into the transaction.... While the purchase was not contingent on a trade, the fact he placed a value close to $5k lower than both NADA and another local dealer was a telling... He then offered to match the other dealer (Who offered a higher value, but still below NADA), contingent on the purchase of a specific in stock vehicle... When we questioned selling them our trade and purchasing a more expensive vehicle today, which was in transit, and simply waiting the 30-60 days to take delivery, he again indicated he would lower the value of my trade to the original amount... The following day, prior to contacting the sales woman to explain I'd like to make the purchase, less any trade, the same manager called... When asked why I left the prior evening, I explained my concern with his trade valuation... He quickly appeared intent on being argumentative and confrontational... I explained, the source of his offer was irrelevant, the value he assigned did not justify my the vehicle to make the purchase.... He remained argumentative until I terminated the call.... In sum, approx two years ago my wife and I walked into the same dealership, picked out two vehicles, Bernard (I believe) wrote up the sale... We paid cash and left... It was a very pleasant experience... We traveled from Walworth County expecting a similar, very professional experience... While we were impressed with Ms Hastings, the manager made it clear, this dealership is no longer interested in simply selling new vehicles at MSRP, they also expect their customers to trade in vehicles at a substantial discount... If not willing to do that, they have no interest in making a sale... We will again be purchasing two vehicles this year, but it will no longer be from this dealership... read more

Stealership That's the word I learned from my friends when I told them about the charges from this place: "stealership". My other car is a Mercedes SUV, and I am used to very expensive repairs and even very pricey oil changes, but nothing like this. I have a Toyota Prius and had a problem with the hybrid battery, and I had to agree to pay for a general service inspection AND a hybrid battery inspection. This means I also had to agree that none of this $300-$400+ - just checking to see what might be wrong with the hybrid battery - would apply to fixing anything. My mistake, my very very costly mistake. In short I paid $500+ for an oil change. This is a 2006 Prius that is barely even worth $500. I also asked them look the car over for issues, and I got a total recommendation between $3000-$5000. What a joke. I wish I would have read all the other negative reviews before coming here. I also didn't understand why my service clerk could not give me accurate information. I had made an appointment in advance so I could wait in the lobby for a determination of the issue. But when I got there the service clerk told me that was not the case. I could take a shuttle home and they would call me later that day. I thought about walking home, because I work during the day and live close, and thought that might be faster, and it would have been. I asked the guy when the shuttle was coming he said "soon". I asked "how soon"...just "soon". Then we talked some more about the car, and I was about to go to the lobby and I again asked how long the shuttle would take to return, and I got no answer from this guy. I waited in the lobby for about half an hour and the shuttle driver finally came and gave me a ride home. Then pretty soon after I got home, I got a call about the hybrid battery was bad. I figure the inspection/assessment took less than half an hour, so they are making $1000+ an hour (plus there was an oil change that occurred somewhere after that call I think). Wow, yes, I began to feel my friends are right about the stealership moniker. I don't mind waiting half an hour for a shuttle if that's the standard time frame, what I mind is being told nothing but "soon", half an hour is not soon, and being told I could wait for the car to be inspected, which did not mean waiting for hours. This dealership texts you their recommendations in an interface that is very unreadable, and I mistakenly agreed to a fix that very expensive and not really needed. So I called my service clerk back and left a message that I didn't want that fix, it was a mistake because of the kludgy text interface they use. I asked for him to call me back ASAP to confirm....but I got nervous that they were going to ignore my message and charge me another $3000. So I had to call and ask for the service manager to make sure this didn't happen. At least that guy was responsive. After talking with the service clerk about the car and rejecting every "fix" except an oil change, he left a message for me to call him back for information about my car. So I call him and he tells me the car is ready. There was no "information", and he didn't seem to remember even calling me. I told him I would get the car the next day. I had asked my neighbor to drive me mid-day. The next day, when I was working, I get a call from the shuttle driver that he is on his way to my house. Really, I asked, and why would that be? I didn't ask for a shuttle, a pick up shuttle was never discussed. I had been to this dealership before to explore buying an EV or hybrid, but they have no cars to test drive. After this experience, I will find a different dealership for my new car even if its very far away. read more

This is the worst place EVER!! Phone operators Are very rude, they actually talk back, make rude comments and do voice innuendos at customers on the phone!!? How hard is it to cancel a repair appointment??, well if I need wait over 6 min to do it and then be transferred 3 times and it still isn't handled , guess what, I wont bother canceling nor will i bother rebooking. The only reason I go is cause we get free oil changes, lube and filters. Those used to come with a diagnostic. Nope, not anymore. Even Pep Boys does it for free, but not the dealer repair shop! They want $69. For the 3 min plug in. Now, When my grandparents traded in their Camery, it had 8000 miles on it, in brand new condition. Don Jacobs gave her $4000 toward her trade in?? She was 79 yrs old. Guess they thought ripping off an elderly person was ok. If I had known, I would of called the ADA and sued them. But unfortunately I found out 3 years to late. Just wanted everyone to know why I really cant stand them. Every little thing after that is just mute. So I finally decided to write Review as the oil change thing just happened last week on my still kicking grand mothers other car! Day 1: Called to see if they could get me in and that I needed weatherstripping for my trunk because I thought it was hampering my ability to close it. They said yes and I went immediately. My guy was new and very nice. I told him what I needed and the guy behind him said they had to do a diagnostic (+67.50). They took the car and I waited for a good long while (I should have been timing this, but who knew). I was finally called back and told the diagnostic came back and I needed new weatherstripping for my trunk and that I would have to pre-pay for them to order it. It would be in the next day (+125.72). I was irritated because of the extra cost for the diagnostic but swallowed it and agreed). I waited for a long time for them to bring the car and when they did, they had $1125.78 worth of suggested repairs (was THAT the diagnostic?). I paid for the diagnostic and new weatherstripping and made an appointment for the next day. Day 2: Brought the car back for the weatherstripping to be put in. After the car came back and I paid, I opened the trunk and then tried to close it. It wouldn't close. I tried several times and went to another guy and told him. He came out and tried several times and then called to get them to check it again. I waited for a good long while and went to the car as the technician was driving it up. He said the diagnostic told them I needed a new latch. I told him they had done a diagnostic the day before and the result was that I needed new weatherstripping. He responded that I shouldn't have been told that because they couldn't do the diagnostic until the new weatherstripping had been put on. I asked why, then, the diagnostic hadn't been done after they put the weatherstripping on and before they returned the car to me. I don't remember the response, but I can guarantee that it wasn't satisfactory. Day 3: I brought the car back for the new latch. They installed the new latch and I tested it. The trunk would close. Paid and left (+257.13 they paid the labor). I got home, reached down to open the trunk with the lever. The lever was loose, and the trunk wouldn't open. Exasperated. Called and made an appointment. Day 4: Took the car in. They attached the latch to the lever. read more

I was interested in purchasing a car scheduled a test drive and when I drove 2 hours they literally sold the car right in front of me and basically tried to sell me something else like it didn't even happen and now it's 2 months later I found a different car somewhere else and they are still harassing me trying to sell me a car! Great pre-sales and sales representatives! Questions they could not answer were quickly found with acceptable answers. Big part of reason I bought the car. However, requested the certified 2015 Highlander XLE be prepped and inspected prior to sale in case I bought on the spot (I did). Less than three days later two defective items (splash guard had missing bolts), which should have been part of pre-sales checklist, failed. Luckily, the car is still under factory warranty and repairs 400+ miles away occurred with no challenge. read more

been almost a week now y'all been working on my alignment & beyond that, y'all keep telling my car is in the body shop but when i call the body shop its in the service department? now y'all are bringing a whole different technician in because the ones you guys employed can't figure it out, never getting my money again if i can help it. this dealership is disorganized and like i've said in a seperate review, takes way too long to get anything done here, even the process of simply purchasing the car took me an exorbitant amount of time. read more

Took my truck in for service twice in the month. For the same reason. They couldn't "replicate" the noise the first time after they had my truck the entire day and was still charged for that. This time I was in for the same issue after I replaced a few maintenance things. Then then say that everything I replaced and my lift kit on it all needs to be replaced and will be $12-$1500 to take I back to OEM. I declined all services as to they are not needed what so ever. Was still charged for no work to be done. Would not recommend service here! read more
