So four of us stopped in here and between us we buy 50 bucks worth of cigars to smoke on premises. It's a really nice place with a good selection of cigars and okay prices. So what's the beef? Like most cigar stores they sell their empty boxes. In their case for '$3.00 to $5.00". I have never bought an empty cigar box but I saw one that was nice. I asked the 'minimum wager' working behind the counter if he would sell it to me for the low end of $3.00. He said "No, because we have to pay for the boxes". WTF is that all about ! "We have to buy the boxes", really dude? I wouldn't have minded paying the 5 bucks but it does piss one off to get lied to. Pass. First rule of maintaining a good retail reputation is, "Don't lie to your customers". Apparently they do so here. I do notice that the only other subpar post here is the result of poor customer service. read more

Where I started smoking. It used to be ANTO'S. I like the ambiance, friendly service, that everyone knows my name, the local shopping stores, eateries and bars. The owner and his nephews are helpful and friendly. Close to the beach too. read more

Not a bad local place to pick up some sticks. However the selection is limited and prices are a bit high. Very friendly service each time I've gone in. It's the only cigar shop in Belmont Shore. That's probably why they charge a premium for their smokes. Overall if you're in a bind for some smokes, you can find something here for your liking. read more

Humidor practically empty of cigars, including house cigars. Lukewarm welcome. No help. What happened? I hit all the cigar lounges. Mi Havana and Embassy seem to be the friendliest and most comfortable. I prefer cigars over 60 ring gauge. Nothing under 20.00. Over 20.00 still not much. read more

First time walking into Don Lupe's and immediately feel welcomed by Josue, definitely someone who enjoys what he does. After a nice dinner this is the perfect place to have a great cigar and conversation. Will definitely be back again and recommend Don Lupe's to my friends. Other than parking sucking a really bad, this is a great place, great selection in their large walk in humidor, lots of televisions and lots of seating the staff was very courteous and helpful and the Decour is something you see in a mobster movie. My overall experience with this lounge has been very positive. Great customer service, wide selection of cigars at a reasonable price, and comfortable lounge. They are generally open pretty late, but it would be nice if they were open a bit earlier than 12PM. The owner and family are very hospitable. Con: parking sucks. I love this spot, it's super chill. Every time I'm down here in long beach I like to stop by Don Lupe to grab a cigar and if there's a Lakers game, I'm staying here and smoking my cigar. The atmosphere here is very relaxed. Just a bunch of guys talking sports, watching sports and kicking it. Sometimes there's a girl or two but not many. I don't know why unless they maybe don't enjoy cigars I guess. Their prices are normal and reasonable for a cigar lounge. So you have good prices, 3 HD televisions to watch your sports and life is good. You don't end up stinking like smoke all that much either. The owner is a really nice guy too. read more

Not a fan of this cigar lounge at all. We regularly frequent cigar lounges all over O.C. & L.A. we've had such great fun at each shop. The employees here are not helpful what so ever. I asked a simple question and the guy was just incredibly rude. My last review was deleted and I received a few extremely rude messages. Always been a relaxing friendly experience here, combined with a good selection of sticks and knowledgeable staff giving reliable recommendations. With a long center table, freely join the conversion, play chess, read, study or just chill. They've got 18 comfortable chairs inside and another 8-10 outside so there's always a place to sit. I've purchased cigar's here before. I'm not a regular smoker. Just like to have the occasional expensive cigar with wine to celebrate a small victory etc. Like guys used to do. This store has a very good selection of cigars. But they do not have any (last time I checked) raw tobacco - which is absolutely crazy not to have. As stated by other reviewers, the guy at the register doesn't seem like he's in the best mood, but that's 100% fine by me, as long as you're doing a good job. I evaluate people on their actual work and he's done a good job assisting me and that's what counts. I've never smoked a cigar here because it has a "boy's club" feel. I feel like everyone knows each other and I don't want to butt in interrupt the group. They have large chairs with coffee tables, with everyone facing each other but I prefer a booth or something less informal. Especially for strangers I don't know, who could be who knows who. But it's almost always packed, so I guess they're are doing something right. read more
