In late December 2025, I went to DVN Hyundai to get a new car. During the initial sales meeting with my sales advisor, Hanan Laccheb, everything was pretty normal, and we closed the deal. So far so good. My wife and I asked her whether the tires from my previous car would fit the Hyundai. She said yes. We wanted to make sure that it's a firm yes, and not a "I'll say anything to close the sale, even if it's not true." So she called one of her colleagues from the service department, to make sure, and he confirmed that the tires will indeed fit. Perfect. A few days later, she calls and says that the tires will fit, but the rims won't. A bit deceptive, but I can give her the benefit of the doubt. She then dropped a giant pile of work for me: 1. Go to my previous dealer to get my all-season tires. 2. Take those tires to Canadian Tire to get new rims 3. Take the all-season tires back to my previous dealer for storage, since I couldn't drive on them, as it was still winter. 4. In the spring, drive back to my previous dealer, to pick up the all-season tires. 5. Bring those all-season tires to Hyundai for replacement. I wasn't exactly amused to have this giant project, driving all over the city, and spending additional money that I wasn't planning on. A few days later, she messages me again, now saying that the tires won't fit, either - after telling me repeatedly that they will, and even checking with the service department. And I have it all in text. I reached out to the service manager to get this rectified, and he "kindly" told me that he'd get me additional winter tires and rims that fit for $825. But that would be added to my lease. So the original deal that I got with Hanan was a lot less sweet after that addition. Was it pure incompetence on Hanan's part, or deliberate deception? I don't know, but neither one is good. After this experience, I'm not opposed to getting another Hyundai in the future, but I will never work with Hanan Laccheb as my salesperson again. UPDATE: After I originally posted this review, I got a response from DVN Hyundai, basically apologizing, and giving me an email to reach out to, to make things right. So I wondered - did they really mean it, or was it just a corporate PR strategy of "we'll respond to our negative reviews, so that other people looking at them can see. But we don't plan to actually follow through on anything. It's just optics." To test it, I actually emailed them. No response. I emailed them a second time, and got a response. It turns out that the company responding to these isn't DVN Hyundai, but Weins. They told me to email DVN Hyundai. I did. I didn't hear back. I followed up a week later, and still didn't hear back. So the conclusion is pretty clear: any response to negative reviews is really just a corporate PR strategy, without any substance behind it. I was already displeased with DVN Hyundai to begin with, and gave it a 1-star review. With this new experience, if I could give a minus 5-star review, I would. read more

On first second week of January 2025, I visited a Hyundai dealership in Newmarket to address the failure of my car's heater in the middle of winter. Despite charging me for a full diagnosis, the dealership provided no warning about potential engine failure or any indication of necessary repairs. I should also mention that though the mileage in my car was high but I always followed up the required and regular scheduled maintenance of my car at the dealership or occasional Oil change at Mr. lube. A week later, my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe suffered a complete engine failure while I was driving on Highway 400--without any prior warning signs or even a check engine light warning. My car was towed away to Don Valley North Hyundai. To make matters worse, when I approached the repair agent at the Don Valley North Hyundai location, he refused to offer any cash value for my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe, which had no interior or exterior damage. I am disgusted that Hyundai wouldn't even accept their own vehicle--not even for a few hundred dollars of cash. Experiencing such catastrophic failures after just six years of ownership is unacceptable, and the lack of accountability is beyond disappointing. Although I was in urgent need of a car, this experience completely changed my mind about purchasing any vehicle from Hyundai. I purchased a car at this dealer 3 years ago and initially everything was great. As time went by the service department began going downhill fast. On more than one occasion I had been wait for my car for over one hour after it had been serviced without an advisor informing me it had been ready. Recently I had my 3 year old car towed to this dealer as it would not start. As per THEIR instructions I dropped off the car and placed the key in the key box. I spent 2 hours the phone the next day and they could not give me a simple status update as to whether they received the keys and what the next steps would be. After the renovation and upgrade they are more concerned about image rather than the customer. This dealer provides the worst service. Bad service with a smile. Update* They finally called me to tell me while they had put me on hold for over 25 min during one of the calls they got too busy with other stuff to come back to me. Also since my vehicle was towed in it constitutes as low priority. Common sense says if the vehicle had to be towed because it could not be driven in it's probably a higher emergency. Update 2* it ended up being the motor starter and I was informed it would take 3-5 business days to fix and since it's almost the weekend I'm looking at 7 days. They also informed me a rental is not guaranteed and I may have to pay for a rental for a warranty job that is delayed by this dealer. It almost seems like they go out of their way to cause problems. Don Valley North Hyundai is a complete disgrace! Most underhanded car dealership I have ever dealt with. I purchased a 2017 SanteFe which was a lemon right form the beginning. The engine went about 2 years ago and they originally were not going to cover this under warranty but I contacted a lawyer and then right away agreed to cover it. This time the engine went yet again while I was driving. Right away they said they would cover under warranty due to there being a ton of recalls. However they told me they can only give me a rental car once the engine is in stock which makes no sense. as I am waiting on them. I brought the car in Wed Nov 3. Today is Wed Nov 8th and they said the engine came in but one of the kits for the engine was not in so I could have the rental for only 5 days which I can take now or when it come in. In the meantime I have spent close to $600 on Ubers already waiting for an answer on when the rental would be available. My agents name is Salar Khallili. I tell him I am going to pick up the rental and speak to him about this because it does not make sense why I would not get a rental until my car is ready, not to mention how much I have wasted on Ubers already. I uber it over there and he calls Enterprise for the rental. He then tells me they have no cars available and I took an Uber there for nothing. Again I am left in the same position with these scam artists and need to contact a lawyer again. Do not deal with them at all cost as their product is weak and their service is 10 times worse. I was at the dealership around 2pm today. I was very disappointed with the service they provided. at the beginning, the front desk receptionist said some agents are out for lunch, and will find someone else to assist us ASAP. After 20mins of wait, no one had came to us. It wasn't until us walking up to the front receptionist, and the receptionist then said all the agents are at the "meeting". We were not that in reasonable, if they are at the meeting while the reception had contacted them, why no one had came forward and let us know? It was not until we went up to them and ask them how much longer we had to wait? Moreover, we were the only one that were there waiting at that time. There were two gentlemen at the reception just "chatting". It would be appreciated if they had just came forward and let us know instead. I leased a car through Don Valley North Hyundai. Our sales consultant Sam, was patient and helpful, and I do believe he tried to help us to get a good deal. One reason why I decided to lease from here is because I never felt overly pressured to make a decision right on the spot. I've been to other dealerships where it has been a very uncomfortable experience and the sales person acted like a stereotypical used car salesman, but Sam did a great job, kept things professional and treated us like people and not just as another sales figure. read more

The customer service is terrible. You buy a 20-30,000 car from them and they wont even provide information on replacement parts. They want you to buy it from them only and wont provide information on their own parts in case you want to compare prices. God forbid you check to see if you're getting ripped off. (You probably are getting ripped if you're going to this place). Go to Mississauga Hyundai, called them and they are much more helpful. Very poor experience with the service department at DVN Hyundai. I had the AWD warning light come on in my car numerous times. I brought the car into their service department 3 separate times to diagnose the issue but they couldn't figure out what was wrong. I was told by my service advisor the next time the light came on, to bring it in right away so they could fix the issue. A few weeks later it did, I brought the car in and was told they were too busy and to bring the car in the following week. I asked if they would just plug the car in and scan the computer as that would give an idea as to what's wrong with the vehicle. Again they refused, brushed me off and told me that they don't have time to deal with my car. Thanks for potentially sending me out onto the road with an unsafe car. I then drove out of the dealership and went to Thornhill Hyundai. I explained the situation to them, even though I did not have an appointment, they took my car in and diagnosed the problem as a corroded wiring harness. They did not have the part on hand, but they ordered it and the issue was fixed a few days later, all covered under warranty. Don Valley's service department has a lot to learn about customer service. They will never get another dollar out of my wallet. read more

My car door wouldn't latch shut and I brought it in for service. 24 hours later, car was good as new and door latches properly. Repairs done under warranty. Friendly staff and good waiting area with free WiFi. I bought my car originally from Thornhill Hyundai (which I've also reviewed) and the service department here is much friendlier. Whereas Thornhill refused to tighten a few screws in my car (I had to go to an indie shop and borrow a Torx wrench), DVN Hyundai completely replaced my door actuator in a day and under warranty. I own a car, therefore I need service. I know some things around a car, I took shop class, but not enough to open my own car repair shop, so I need to turn to the pros. Overall, the service is ok. They offer pick up and drop off service if you need, but the pick up and drop off times can be underwhelming, they can't really promise a good estimate for time frames, so it is usually best to just wait. Next, the up sell, know what your car needs. The dealership may try to get you to buy something you don't on the spot, so make sure you are aware of your car before you end up with a bigger bill than you need. Overall, the service is generally good. Bring a nice cup of your favorite beverage, and have a break while you wait for your car to be serviced. read more

Bought my car and get its service done here whenever the mileage hit the markers indicated on that little sticker thingy they put on your windshield... Now, I'm the type of person that needs and drives a car around, but really don't know very much about them. It's always good to have a dealer service department take care of your car, which is why I head over here whenever I need to get my oil changed and what not. This review is mostly going to be about the service department, as that's where I go mostly whenever I'm here. Don't have that disposable income to be buying new cars all the time! The receptionists are quite nice, but their bookings always seem to be full. Make sure you are calling about a week before a date you want, or there won't be anything left! The consultants that you deal with are awesome. Jeanette is the one I've spoken to the most, and she is friendly and efficient. They do ask you before they do anything to your car, so make sure you listen carefully and not just blindly agree. I've made that mistake before and had to pay for an alignment that I really didn't need... The waiting area is a small and cozy, with couches for you to sit and enjoy some complimentary coffee or watch some TV (CP24). Unfortunately, they only have 1 area that includes an outlet, so not many areas to plug in. If you don't want to stay and wait, they have drivers that will drop you off somewhere to pick your car up later. I'm not sure if they also pick you up when your car is ready though... All in all, a good place to get your regular car check-ups, if you drive a Hyundai. Anything else, I'd probably just find a regular autoshop/mechanic. read more

This dealer really focuses on quality of service rather than vehicle delivery alone and it shows. The sales consultant I had (Sinthu) is knowledgable, friendly and dedicated. My car was delayed for a little bit but both Sinthu and sales manager Arthur kept in constant contact with me via phone and email to keep me updated on the delivery status. I'm very happy with my new ride and I look forward to high quality service in the shop for years to come. Service department - long story short..very short..We've had way too many horrible experiences here. Customer service was one of the biggest problems here and because of how incompetent they were, it took about 5 appointments (possibly more) to finally get our transmission replaced. I don't who schedules the appointments when you call Hyundai (she's most likely from a call centre) but whoever she is.. she's quite rude every time and there's always a problem. Such as: records does not show you have an appointment or the technician is not here on weekends. So why would she schedule us on a weekend knowing the technician is not there and we need the car examined by a technician? Thanks to the manager Cato, we finally replaced the transmission. Unfortunately, even with his outstanding service we can't give this place anything better than a 1 star. It was frustrating dealing with these guys. Because of them, we are definitely not buying a Hyundai again. And whoever thought the Genesis would have that many problems? read more

In July, I purchased my first new vehicle (2013 Hyundai Tucson) from this dealer, and I would NOT recommend coming to Don Valley North Hyundai. Here are two of my main disappointments: 1) I had asked for a Bluetooth upgrade as I was told this was an option. On the bill of sales and invoice, it stated, BLUETOOTH UPGRADE. When I picked up my car, it was a Parrot CK3100 LCD Bluetooth add-on. I purchased an upgrade from Hyundai, I expected a Hyundai part. This aftermarket upgrade was NOT made known to me before I had received the car. And after complaining about this to the store manager. They said this was outside of Don Valley Hyundai, as money have already been spent purchasing and installing the system. 2) I test drove a different 2013 Tucson model back in July. The one I wanted was not in stock, they ordered for me as I wanted a 5-spd model. I had a keyless entry (as expected) for the test driven model. When I picked up my car, there was NO KEYLESS FOB. When complained that this option was not even made available to me, I was told that Hyundai Canada does not offer a 5-Spd model with keyless entry. Again, you can understand my lack of amazement of buying a NEW 2013 vehicle without a keyless option. (Better yet, there is no keyhole for the hatch - I have to put down my cargo, go to the front doors, unlock all doors, before opening the hatch and loading my stuff into the rear cargo. And if i am taking out stuff from the rear cargo, I always have to return to the front door to lock my car). As I complaint, they did offer me an option of ComStar Remote, installed free of charge (Hence the 2-star rating instead of 1-star). But again, this is an aftermarket product which I did not want on my new vehicle. In summary, I dealt with car salesmans that felt like the stereotypical used-car salesman you really regret doing business with. I wish they knew their products better and told me about the lack of a keyless entry instead of trying to sell me the rust-proof, body coat, or other bells and whistles. Also, I found it completely deceiving to have received an aftermarket Bluetooth instead of the actual Hyundai Bluetooth upgrade that are in other 2013 Tucsons. If I had to do it all over again, I would look for another brand of vehicle or at least drove to further Hyundai dealer. read more

Humble, kind and hardworking team. My best experience was with sales rep Matthew Yaghamee who worked hard to make this all happen. Got my keys to my new 2019 Santa Fe with a gift certificate for my upcoming birthday on December 27, they noticed my birth date and planned to surprise me when handing over the car keys... who does that these days, that's a serious plus and a serious 5 star for this dealership. Long story short. Brought a brand new Hyundai Accent back in 2011 and they offered me additional 2 year warranty on top of the 5 that comes with the car. Took the car in for service around 2 months ago and found out my warranty ending in May, 2016. I asked the service rep that my warranty should be 7 years and not 5. She suggested I speak to Thomas Cheng to follow up on the additional 2 year protection plan. Thomas took all my info down and promise to get back to me on the status but it's been a month and all I'm getting from Thomas is "I'm too busy". I guess cause I'm not consider a value customer since I only bought an Accent. Will I recommend anyone to this dealer? Probably not likely. Unless you are prepared to be ignored or brushed off when you need something from the dealer. After you sign the purchase agreement, they will start showing their real side by giving you attitude, showing ignorance, and giving you a really hard time on any of your inquiries and/or problems. To complicate things even more, you will be refused to speak to the manager. They will tell you that you will receive a call back, but keep you waiting. They will be too busy to look into your inquiry. Other Hyundai dealerships in Toronto will give you MUCH better service! read more

I bought my car at this dealership in 2012. Been back a few times for warranty work. First of all, the employees seem nice, they actually improved from a few years ago. They now greet you at the door when you walk in. In the past, you would be left standing there for 5-10mins waiting for a service advisor to look your way. Shuttle service is very good, nice drivers!. Now to the bad review. I have my own mechanic that i go for all of my servicing. When getting an oil change, he noticed that the rear main seal had a leak, told me that its under warranty, bring it to the dealership and don't mentioned that my mechanic spotted this. I bring it to the dealership, they tell me its the oil filter leaking, i play dumb and ask, will this solve the oil spots on my driveway, they tell me yes. Ok... $$$$ ( i take synthetic oil). Still leaking, so i bring back a few days later, they tell me there is a leak from the head gasket and it will be repaired under warranty. So i'm not going to argue with the dealership and say...your mechanic doesnt see the leak from the rear main seal??. After they repair that... once again, still more oil drops on my driveway. I bring it back, they check it and finally say... its your rear main seal thats leaking. It took their mechanic 3 trys to find out that its the rear main seal. Or from what i was told by others, is that these mechanics get paid per job. This all cost me my time and an oil change to get this repaired. 3x i had to bring my car in. My second warranty service is another long disappointing story. And what strange is how busy the service waiting room is. Hyundai's these days are above reliable, why is it that i have to make an appointment to talk to a service advisor. Agincourt Hyundai is not much better. I went there after deciding finally not to go back to Don Valley North Hyundai for anymore warranty work. I pull in the service dock, i tell the service advisor the problem, and he asks where i bought the car, i told him DVN Hyundai, he says - you better take it back there... I believe that Hyundai warranty is Canada wide. Not specific to one dealership? Anyhow, i'm not going to leave my car there after he said that. I now go to Ontario Hyundai for my warranty work, even though its a 30min drive for me, they are a much better dealership. Hope some of you guys don't go through what i have. read more

We just bought our first new vehicle with Don Valley North Hyundai, and it was an excellent experience! After hearing everyone else's experiences with buying a new car, we were expecting a difficult process and that we would have to fight and haggle to get what we wanted, and battle our way through to the end of the deal. We could not have been more wrong. Our Product Advisor, Tigran "Tigo" Avagyan was fantastic. He really listened to what we needed and wanted in a new car and was up front with us about everything. He was extremely knowledgeable, not just about Hyundai's products, but how they might compare to other vehicles from other auto manufacturers. He fully informed us about the vehicle we were looking to purchase as well as the extras that were available, but didn't put any pressure on us to take something that we did not want. Even after we bought the car, he continued to follow up with us as we took care of insurance and the preparation of the car before pickup, and has made himself available whenever we have needed him for additional information, both before and after we picked up the car. We had an equally enjoyable experience with Bryan Choi, our finance contact. He made everything quick and simple for us to move forward with exactly what we had discussed with Tigo, and made it happen. He was informative and efficient, so much so that we did not spend much time with him! We love our new car and we could not be happier with the service we received during what we had anticipated to be a difficult, unenjoyable, and high-pressure process. We look forward to a (hopefully!) long and pleasant relationship with Don Valley North Hyundai! read more

The vehicle that I came in to the dealership with was relocated to a different section of the visitor's parking WITHOUT my consent. They wanted to test the car to assess the value of the vehicle but I never gave them consent. 2. I confronted the manager and he was condescending and had a negative and disrespectful attitude. He walked away from me and went back into his office. 3. I wrote a complaint letter to the dealership on August of 2013 and STILL have not received a response. Just to start off, I want to say the last thing I'd buy is a Hyundai car because most of them are garbage, but I was only there to help my sister pick her first ever car. The manager for the used cars department (don't remember his name that's how unimportant he was to me) was so full of himself and speaking to us as if we don't know anything about cars. He was basically convincing me not to buy the car we were interested in because we wanted to bargain the price which I know he probably couldn't do. But the way he was speaking and saying basically if we don't buy it he's still gona make money regardless. I was just so shocked to hear these words from a MANAGER because aren't they supposed to ...I don't know..SELL their cars to their clients? I was just laughing the whole time because he had no idea the amount of research I've done before going there. To say the least, I'll never go back to that location thanks to the manager. I was helped carefully by Lillian in purchasing a car, she demonstrated the car features and helped me throughout the process. I was told to pick the car after a week for thorough detailing before delivery (which i had paid extra for the car protection). At the time of delivery i realized that the alignment which i had mentioned 1 week prior hadn't been done, the speaker had some rattling when the audio plays & the worst part is when i fold my rear seats i see FUNGUS which clearly notes that the car hadn't been cleaned properly. When i dust the seats, i can clearly see the dust coming out like an old couch. It disappoints me that i would have this kind of experience here. I've already had like 3 trips after i purchased the car in 1 week and tomorrow is going to be the 4th. read more

Took my car into their bodyshop to get repair work done. I dealt with Douglas and he was very professional and really cares about doing a great job. I had some special requests (ie. didn't want my car washed because I'm picky about how I wash my car) and he always made sure to check with me before doing something I might not like. In this case, the spray mask had to be rinsed off and he called me up to check with me before doing that. Very considerate. The work took a few days longer than initially quoted, but I was never in the dark about it. I was very surprised when I went to drop my car off. I parked in front of the body shop office and before I even walked through the door, Douglas was already on the phone calling for a shuttle to get me to my rental. The quality of work is very good as well. My car is modified but they put everything back as it was after the repairs. Very honest pricing too. I was initially quoted $1700 for repairs but it ended up coming out to $1400. Insurance was covering this invoice too. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE service in the service department today.... We had a recall appt with no chareges incurring because its covered with DVN hyundai this morning and I get a call on my cell at 7:30 am which I did not pick up due to my having a child to get readyt for the day.. just thought they were calling to confirm they got our SUV for its appt didnt bother to call back- . Called around 2:30 - 3 to confirm we could pick it up with no bill aside for an oil change , and my hubby goes to pick it up and gets stuck with a $312 bill... the manager -Cato is the worse guy to deal with.. he basically accused me of trying to skip out on our bill because I 'authorized it" at 730 a.m. I asked for a recording proof and he said oh we are unable to pull it up now" ... i only authorized the oil change, not the bill for for recall repairs on our vehicle (was labour or something) Manager was making up random amounts for our oil change which my hubby was appalled at... $71 when we always paid like $58 and had to fix it, etc.. very unprofessional and the way he spoke to me was very unprofessional. DVN definitely lost a customer! we will never take our SUV back there- we will go to the one which is 5 mins from home in stouffville because we ve heard nothing but good things about them- , but because the guy who sold us our SUV was super nice at DVN we thought we'd do our service appts 20 mins away from home.... not anymore!!!! Not the first time we had an incident there... The manager there definitely needs some etiquette training! read more
