This is a nice spot in Oxford's historic Covered Market. Good price, good dishes (I've only ever gotten take out; never dined in; lived in Oxford all summer long). Tried nearly all their dishes. I recommend their beef noodle. read more

Ok. Now for the negatives. Wait staff appeared untrained and unsupervised. My server repeatedly ran his fingers through his hair while having a long conversation with a sushi chef, and with his back to the house. Meanwhile two four top tables were waiting. Another server was snacking behind the counter. Another violation of basic restaurant hygiene. These are fixable problems. With more hands on management this could be a great restaurant.

They had specials on the board, so I chose sashimi over rice with miso soup, while my kid chose the ramen. The food is billed as homemade Japanese food. I felt their take on Japanese food was just OK, despite the presentation being beautiful. For my dish, the amount of rice was overwhelming compared to the sashimi, which was cut very thin compared to sashimi I'm used to , so the imbalance made little sense. I left a large clump of rice despite the effort. Ramen is something we've had so much of in different restaurants, but their take with their broth was below average. (I should mention my kid was very happy though. It's just my picky take) I'd say this is a fun little stop on a cute street, with food not being the star.
