He adopts state of the art technology at his practice and has a network of respected and esteemed specialists in Melbourne which placed me in the hands of one of the best Periodontal surgeons in the state. My husband required complicated extractions and jaw surgery. Dr Paino was available outside of business hours on his personal mobile to provide support to my husband late at night when he was extremely unwell after being released from hospital. Last month my son was due to fly interstate but was unwell with an infection related to wisdom teeth. We messaged Dr Paino on a Saturday night to seek his advice and he immediately responded and provided a telehealth appointment and arranged for a script to be sent to a 24 hour chemist. This meant our son was well enough to travel a few days later. We can't thank him enough for his expertise, kindness and willingness to provide such out of scope help and support without expecting anything in return. He is not only an excellent practitioner but someone very special who treats his patients like family. We can't thank or recommend him highly enough.

The dentist was lovely, even if he did break my heart by telling me that grazing may be the best thing for your waistline, but the worst thing for your teeth. Darn decay. Dr Helen Arabatzis and her staff are caring, friendly and professional and will do everything they can to make you feel at ease. They practice a 'less is more' philosophy with a focus on prevention, and will not insist on invasive dental work unless it is absolutely necessary. Eg, I had a few smallish spots of decay that another dentist had insisted required fillings (and the cost of several hundred dollars), but Dr Arabatzis said that it would be better to monitor them and put in some sealants to prevent further decay. Two years later, they haven't changed, and I still haven't needed fillings. Hooray! Let's face it, going to the dentist isn't something anyone looks forward to. But with their laid-back family practice vibe, fantastic facilities, and patient-first treatment practices, Brunswick Family Dental is as good as it gets!

The dentist, Dr Damian, was thorough, gentle and extremely competent. His philosophy is to avoid drilling unless it's necessary, which is great! I had a sensitive spot on my tooth, which I was sure was a cavity. He took a photo (in addition to X-rays) and showed me that the sensitive spot was due to the fact that I had brushed away the enamel on that tooth! He recommended an electric toothbrush so I didn't put too much pressure on that tooth. Also he polished down an old filling that was too bulky and made it hard to floss - for free! No other dentist had offered to do that for me. I was so pleased, I booked my daughter in (they have TVs on the ceilings and a children's specialist for cleanings). My husband will be going as well. Basically the dentist is fantastic, the equipment is brand new, they are well set up for kids, and they are very reasonably priced. And you don't have to be a Bupa member.
