So I've never had doner kebabs before but every time I walk past here my partner suggests we try it out because he really likes it! We finally had a chance to try it out but unfortunately they got our order terribly wrong. And not only was the order off by a mile, but the food itself just wasn't that great. One of my favorite places to grab a Döner sandwich. I used to eat them in Munich when I needed something fast. This place is the closest to an authentic Döner I have found in the US. Fresh ingredients and you can choose from different sauces or mix them. They also have a choice of lamb/beef or chicken, or you can even put falafel in your sandwich. The only minor difference is the bread which is close but no one here in the US has cracked the secret of making beautiful Turkish pide. What a lovely little hole in the wall spot! This was my first time eating Doner - I was very pleased! You have the option of picking a sandwich, wrap, box, or plate. From there you select your protein (chicken, lamb n beef, falafel, garlic tofu, halloumi) and add your fillings (marinated cabbage, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, etc.). For the plate and box, you also select a side (rice, fries, or a salad). I personally ordered the plate with lamb n beef, standard fillings, and the house salad. The meet was very quality! The food was flavorful. I wasn't as big of a fan of the basic house salad, but it was a healthier option than the fries I wanted! ha! This little spot is clean and the employees are friendly. This is the one - the one Döner spot to rule them all. Everything here is as close as you could get from your local corner Dönerbude in Berlin, the real game changers being the great chicken and the type of bread they use. Other places (COUGH BERLINER) use giant hunks of bread that get in the way of the tasty fillings, this place has the perfect, lightly toasted Brot that I remember fondly from drunken nights past. Not to be neglected is also the fresh crunch of the salad and the sauces - always do the garlic one and add pepper flakes. The salad is quite sizable and tasty as well, however having both the sauce and their dressing was a poor mix, I recommend skipping the dressing in favor of the garlic sauce - it's an oddly sweet vinaigrette. My husband is a Döner enthusiast He basically lives off of Döner every time he travels to Berlin and one of his complaints is that there aren't any Döner places around seattle that make the German style Döners. Unfortunately the Döner was not that great. I think If you've never had the authentic döner (from Turkey) or the German version (mainly in Berlin) you'd like this but it really didn't do it for us. Amazing halal spot we found on our first time visiting Seattle. Nestled right in downtown Seattle. Excellent Turkish food. I ordered the beef and lamb donor box. Being German and having eaten Döner on an almost bi-weekly basis for a decade I can attest to the overwhelmingly positive reviews. This place is legit. Very clean, super fresh and the taste is spot on. In fact, Döner Box's quality is a different level compared to many of t often really cheap peers in Germany. I had heartburn and acid reflux for two days after eating the recommended Chicken Wrap. The chicken meat tasted old. There was very little chicken in the wrap, it was mostly shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato and sauces (HEARTBURN!) wrapped in a flour tortilla. I stopped in for lunch and tried their chicken döner plate and falafel. Service: Friendly and quick Food: Fresh, fast, and many healthy options. There are quite a few options for vegetarians too. The chicken ok the chicken döner plate was so delicious and tender. The rice was cooked well and went great with the chicken. The side salad was a nice touch to round out the plate and the curry sauce was so good! I could eat that with a side of fries all day. But let's talk about the falafel... never have I ever had falafel so beautifully golden from a Seattle restaurant. The outside had a nice crisp to it and the inside was like biting into fluffy chickpea heaven. If you like falafel I highly recommend it. Atmosphere: Casual dining with a modern look. I am a huge fan of Doner Kebabs (aka Gyros) - a staple of my youth in England. Sadly there aren't many authentic and high quality options in Seattle. So I am always excited to try a new place that offers this. Doner box is a small restaurant offering german-style Turkish food in belltown. It's mostly a takeout venue with a few tables to sit inside or outside. The location is on a block of restaurants, with a few street parking spaces in front. This area of belltown seldom has a free space, but I did find a spot outside on Saturday lunchtime. Service inside the restaurant was very friendly and helpful. They are in a 'soft open' period, but seemed completely open. The menu is simple but had a good range of options for a lunch. The kebabs are offered with either chicken or lamb/beef. That is a shame, as I would have hoped for a lamb-only option. I had the lamb/beef. The meat is cut from a spit and was moist and fresh. The meat is served either in a ciabatta-like bread or in a tortilla wrap. I was disappointed (as I would prefer a Pita), but the tortilla was quite a good alternative. The veggie fillings offered were great - a good balance of things, and the wrap tasted very good. The meal came with a side of fries. Sadly these were frozen, not fresh cut, and were just fine, nothing special. Overall, this was probably the best doner kebab I've had in the US. I will definitely return. Perhaps next time I'll bring my own Pita. Strongly recommended if you like Doner/Gyros. Update: I got some feedback that in Germany, this is the standard bread used for a Doner, and gyros is something separate. I too have had these in Germany.
