I've used them many times over the years - but not since their prices went up so much. In the past, I was well satisfied with their work.

i did not use them. they wanted $99 just to come to the house. i would love to have thm but it is far too expensive compared to others.

Had no power in my outlets in the front of my house. Understand it's 99 service call, looked at box flipped a breaker, said it wasn't moved over all the way!!! 320.00 was literally here 1 minute, we are a small community and I knew I had to pay but that is total highway robbery! read more

On Sunday we had lost water to our house. I had called 5 different plumbers and not only did Don's Electric & Plumbing from Canajoharie, NY responded right away to my call; they were one of the two out of five plumbers that reached out to that actually returned my call. I give them 5 stars because they showed up when they promised they would. They diagnosed the problem and because they handle both plumbing and heating issues; they were able to solve the problem and get the water back on working for us without having to call around for an electrician too. They literally overcharge for everything. Have had them perform two jobs. To replace an exterior light bulb that required going up and down a ladder was charged $500.00. After a pipe broke, I went with their recommendation to redo the whole system. It's in a vacant apt of my two family that I no longer rent out. After the $2400.00 installation I had them turn the water off and for nearly two years it stayed off. Recently had to turn the water on and the antiquated turn on valve they installed didn't seem to work. So I called for someone to take a look. They sent two workers (Plumbers in NYS are not licensed and meet no state qualification requirements). At first they were puzzled too and wondered why an up-to-date cut off valve had not been installed. Then one kept turning the valve and when it opened more that an inch the water started to flow. So essentially to open the valve they billed $177.00 despite there had never been any follow up when the new system was installed. I felt this should have been a courtesy visit given the initial cost of the system and up until that moment never used. read more

Came out for an electronic water heater not working. Water heater only 6-7 years old. Was told "after diagnosing" that I needed to either have existing one rebuilt or to buy a brand new one from them. Rebuilding existing water heater would be 1000.00 less than a new one installed for 2,200.00. They also tried to "sell me" a monthly membership for better pricing and to include draining tank to remove sediment. Was charged 100.00 for them to come out and 80.00 for diagnosis. I told them I would have to think about it and still no solution to the problem. Had someone else come out same day. Tank did not need to be replaced since it wasn't leaking. Elements inside tank were bad and thermostat was in working order. Elements were replaced/problem solved for less than what I was charged by this company to just come out. read more

We have used Don's many times to service our circa 1870 home. They installed our washer and dryer, changed the dryer outlet from the outdated 3 prong to the modern 4 prong outlet, repaired a leak to the main pipe running to the washer, serviced our gas heaters, and responded to an emergency call about a possible gas leak.
