Dooby's is one of the best casual coffee shops in the city. I wish I could give it 5 stars but I would recommend Artifact as the #1 coffee shop. Dooby's makes delicious American/Korean dishes with a wide ranging menu. This is a good place to go with a small group - anyone should be able to find something good on the menu. The regular coffee is amazing -- the flavored lattes are pretty good as well. One of the best things here are the BAKED goods. The baked goods are some of the best in the city with the donuts being the best donuts in the city. Way better than diablo or any other donut I've had. I would highly recommend coming for just about any meal. The build you own bowls are a healthy option but if you're looking for something heavier the korean cheesesteak might just be the best thing on the savory menu. read more

Love the pork buns here. The pork belly is very tender and of good portions. I'm hungry just thinking about them. The spicy gochujang pork ramen is also really good. The portions are pretty good so I was quite full when I finished. Of note, the water dispenser is right next to the cups. Dooby's is a pretty quick if you're getting food to go, but it's kind of hard to have a sit-down meal here. People tend to take over the front bar-top table with laptops and work materials (I would do the same because of their free WiFi) or people ordering food to-go will take a seat here for a few minutes (which is what I do). So if you're looking to sit down, it's better to go over to the left seat that's up a level and has traditional tables. You might have to wait for a table on the weekend if you're with 3 or more people, or just make sure to go eat at an unpopular hour. The staff are all friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. You need to order and pay at the front counter, and they'll give you a number stand and bring your food to you. Water, silverware, coffee fixins are serve yourself. Speaking of coffee, it's unfortunately not my favorite. It's a very dark bitter roast and sometimes tastes burnt. My coworkers all love the coffee, so it's just a personal opinion. A good note though, if you dine in and get a mug of coffee, you get free refills! I've tried almost the whole menu and have loved every meal. My top 3 recommendations are the bbq cheesesteak (very messy), ramen bowl, and if you're in a spicy mood get the street noodles. The edamame beet salad is surprisingly good (heavy on the beets)but the kimchi potato salad is always my go-to side. If you get a bowl, make sure you like kale because that's what the greens are! Hence when the harbor very quickly ran out of their much advertised donuts in National Donut Day, I had no hesitation to run here for my sweet tooth cravings. Arrived a little late but was able to snag their LAST donut from Sundays Bake House -- a delicious Ginger Rhubarb donut, an absolutely perfect blend of sweet inner cream (though the texture and lightness reminded me more of a yogurt) and spicy kick of ginger candy sprinkled on top. Finished off my mid-afternoon sugar break with their Brulee pie and latte, both which I'd also recommend. Their pie was similar to a cheese cake with a nice toasty crunch from the brulee on top. Dooby's is pretty great! It has a really cute vibe/feel inside and doubles as an actual restaurant and coffee shop. They have free wifi, which is great for those who want to study here. But beware - you're not allowed to use laptops in the dining room area from 12-3 pm and 5 pm-close. They have other seating too that's not in the dining room (like high counter seating), and I think you can use your laptops there at any point. The menu was extensive! They have a good mix of breakfast items, bowls, ramen and rice, and sandwiches. They also have coffee, beer, wine, and cocktails. We got the Korean miso pork ramen, the spicy ramen, and the pork buns. Both of the broths didn't really have that much flavor in my opinion, but it was still not bad! The ramen noodles they use are the thicker ones, and each of the bowls had four enormous portions of pork belly. I could barely even finish two of them. The buns were okay. They were also pork belly, which we should've realized would be pork belly overload, but we didn't. They were topped with some sort of aioli and some kimchi. Not sure if I would get them again. My friends and I came to Dooby's after reading great reviews on reasonably priced Korean fusion food. While I admit the portions are very generous, the only items we ordered that I would recommend were the Chesapeake dumplings (delicious!) and pork belly buns. When fusion is done so right What can I say, I typically hate "fusion" restaurants but this is amazing. The dishes are tasty but still are true to the Korean flavours and the cost is on point for lunch. The coffee is great and this is a place that you can go for a quick coffee date, an extended coffee date, have lunch here, and not to mention you can get your work done here too. It serves literally everyone needs and the location is great. You can grab your coffee to go and take a nice stroll around Mt. Vernon and since the weather is getting better, you should do it! This was the most propitious experience I've had at a breakfast/brunch spot in recent memory. While it was very busy, there wasn't a frenetic energy present. Per my usual indecision, my husband and I elected to share a few things including the Pork Belly Eggs Benedict and the Brunch Burger. Everything was AWESOME including their piping hot coffee which was served in a perfectly sized mug (although, should you find you require more caffeine, bonus points because Dooby's offers free refills!)
