I am lucky my family comes from Ephraim and I am able to get my eyes checked here. My eyesight is complicated by the results of optic neuritis and I have never been steered wrong. They send results to my neuro (which is very helpful) and pleasant and professional and really go out of their way for patients. This place is a nightmare! My insurance representative has verified that I am covered and that door county eye associates is in network, yet they refused to make an appointment for me and they say that I'm not covered despite having a Blue Cross Blue Shield anthem policy with them listed as an in network provider! I've wasted two weeks trying to get them to do something !!! read more

I came to Door County Eye Associates because they are local, close home my home and I was having an issue with my eye. I came to them as a new patient. I was greeted by the friendly receptionists and given a couple of history forms to fill out. I noticed the waiting area was small, but there is a mini fridge that offers water and soda. There is also coffee offered as well. On the opposite side of the waiting room there are walls of frames to choose from. A short time after arrival I was called back and met Dr. Paulsen. He went over my complaint and did a exam. Once the issue was figured out he sent over some steroid eye drops and I was on my way. I will definitely be going back to Door County Eye Associates for my routine eye exam and my new frames when I need them. read more

Sadly disappointed. Recently moved here and just wanted to see some frames. Had to knock on the door, during open hours. Curtly asked if I had an appointment, said no, sorry, simply would like to see some frames. Asked if I had my prescription. Said no, and repeated just would like to see some options for new sunglasses' frames. I was told that I need to have a technician do that. I said I don't want to touch anything just look. She said I'm training a new technician so you cannot come in. I didn't and will never. As a medical professional myself I would never do that to anyone, this was as unprofessional as it was non patient focused. Cannot recommend. Sorely disappointed. read more

I'm not a regular client of Door County Eye Associates but happened to rip my only pair of contacts while on vacation in Door County. I made my way into Sturgeon Bay hoping to find someone to help me get some fresh contacts or adjust my glasses so I could enjoy the rest of my week. The staff at Door County Eye Associates were AMAZING. Out-of-this-world customer service. Not only did they adjust my glasses but they called my optometrist in Chicago, had my contacts prescription faxed up, and gave me a trial pair of contacts for free. These ladies totally saved my week and I am so grateful. If you're a Door County resident or part-time resident, I cannot recommend this office more highly. read more

Was my eye doctor for 30 years or more but won't let me make an appointment any more because I pay out of pocket instead of having vision insurance. So disappointed, he's the only one I felt I could go to with real issues, not just an regular check up. I guess only rich people can go there now. read more

We are in Door County visiting. Our son is having an eye issue. Our eye doctor at home advised us to see an eye doc here not go to ER. This office REFUSED TO SEE OUR SON because we have not been here for 14 days. We understand these are unprecedented times but it's a sad day when a doctor's office REFUSES to care for a child. I was in town for a conference and my contacts ripped on a Saturday. I was able to get my prescription from my eye doctor in Madison, Wisconsin and Door County Eye Associates gave me a trial pair of my contacts to get me through the weekend. They were one of the only places in Door County where I could find contacts on a Saturday and their friendliness, promptness, and care about the situation was unparalleled. Dr. Paulson was very nice and helpful, the staff got me in right away with an eye emergency. The only issue that upset me was when I went to pay my co-pay with my health care insurance, they won't take Blue Cross, they had me pay in full, since I live in Minnesota they said they have problems with vacationers, even though I own property in Door County too it didn't seem to matter. They are going to reimburses me later, I have never had to do this with a doctor, I have yet to see if I get reimbursed. They could have let me know this when I called in and before seeing the doctor when filing out paperwork, not after, I thought it was handled poorly, they could let patients know they treat outsiders differently with billing. read more

I broke my glasses arm, and my second pair was in Brookfield. I hadn't purchased my glasses from this place. I was desparate, and needed to have my glasses fixed or I would'need to drive to Brookfield to get my other pair. Very hard to drive with the glasses fitting unevenly. I called Door County Eye Associates, and Ann said I should come in. She had an arm for me, put it on the glasses, and fitted them to my face. The glasses are silhouettes so they are not easy to replace parts on. No charge and a smile! Very quickly set right. I plan to buy my next pair of glasses from these nice people. read more
