He tried everything to re-code the key so that the car could read it and start up. He pulled so many tricks out of the bag I thought he could be a wizard, but, for a while he was stumped. He didn't give up though. The original job and price altered understandably, afterall, Smart cars are notoriously problematic. When I had reached my cut off point, he continued that little bit longer refusing to be defeated. He tried a new key circuit board, tried re-coding that as well as the original. Finally his tinkering and expensive, top of the range tools did the job and we now have a car again. All this for a measly £120. We thought that it would have been well over £200 based on the original quote I'm so pleased that I could burst. A sincere, considerate and genuinely hardworking individual. You would be a fool to use another company.

Really friendly and helpful and we were in our house within 5 minutes. We then asked him to give us a quote for a sliding door that we couldn't unlock. Instead of just giving us a quote and coming back - which I'm sure many bigger companies would have done- He spent a good part of an hour fixing the door and did not charge us anymore than the £85 we'd originally agreed for opening or door. En route to town, I dropped in my solid favourite heels to be fixed up, and was greeted by the ever friendly and welcoming guys that man the shop. I'm sure one of them must be Steve, and one day I might venture to ask which one, but on this occasion I wasn't so brave as to make introductions. It costs just over a fiver to get re-heeling done, and I've never been in without being able to collect the shoes about 30 minutes later. Basically, it gives you enough time to pop off for a coffee, take in the world, and pop back again before going about your day. Of course, if you need keys cut, and the various other cobbler odd jobs, they're ready to provide good service for that too. They're always smiling, they're cheap and cheerful, they're fantastic and I've them to thank for not having to buy new shoes. It's always a pleasure. The keycutting services are as fast as they are cheap (very) and on the two occasions I've needed a key cut here, I've had no problems with the finished product working in my doors. Can't say I've ever needed to have a shoe cobbled though. I'm a firm believer in the if-a-shoe's-broke-bin-it school of thought, so I can't comment on Steve's shoe skills, but I'd wager they're as professional as his key-cutting skills are.
