The other day my wife went and pushed the button to get her garage door to go up. A noise, a jerky movement, and then nothing. I tried to raise it manually so she could get to work, but it wouldn't budge. I looked at it and one of the rollers was out of the track and I couldn't manage to get it back in. The track itself was bent and this was not going to be a simple do-it-yourself repair. My wife's coworkers all gave her names of places to call. I called the first one, whom numerous of her coworkers had recommended, and they were trying to find a decent time and day that would work for me, but after we hit a couple dead-ends they recommended a local guy that they respect and felt comfortable referring me to. They told me to call Gary the Doorman. Which I did. He made the appointment with me and when he pulled into my driveway he had a fully-equipped truck. He introduced himself, he was polite and professional, he got right to work, he explained to me his diagnosis and how he would fix it, and he outlined some details about costs and parts I could either upgrade or not upgrade. The price was right so I opted for some new rollers. He smoothed out the track for me. Now my wife's garage door goes up and down smoothly and quieter that before. The price was right and Gary was respectful and competent. I will definitely be calling Gary next time I have any kind of garage door problem, and I feel very good about referring him to other people I know that could use his expertise. read more

I had left a voicemail for Gary asking to make an appointment for him to come out and fix my garage door key pad. He called me back and walked me through the steps of how to fix it myself and patiently stayed on the phone with me while I completed the steps and fixed it!! He couldn't have been nicer and he said "why do I need to charge you for something that I can help you fix yourself?" It is SO nice and refreshing to interact with someone who is truly passionate and good at their job and I'm am so grateful!! Good, honest work! Our double-wide garage door started buckling. Gary Bloomfield of Doorman of Frederick came out and said it needed to be stiffened with a strut, which he didn't have with him. He's coming back today. He said he has a used strut, so he'll only charge me for the service call. I said I don't mind paying for the strut, but he said, "it's used -- it's already been paid for".
