I found this company on Yelp, reached out and used their services for digitizing hundreds of printed photos. We had no time restriction, yet it was still completed in a timely manner. I spoke with the owner upon delivery of my first phase of loose photos, and he laid out different options based on my wants, needs and budget. I was kept in the loop and notified of phases being complete. I then sent a few very old photo albums, with sticky pages, and even those came out great in the scanning process. I contacted Doorstep Digital about producing a digital photo from a very old negative in a strange size. They responded to me right away and told me it would be no problem. I brought it to their location and they digitized while I waited. I then had them do a restore of the color and clean up the edges of the photo. This produced an AMAZING restored digital photo file just a few days later. I ordered a canvas print for it and can't wait to see it! These guys do great work and they worked with me on a very affordable price for my very tiny order with respect and professionalism. I definitely recommend them for small and large orders and am planning to take my old photos back to be scanned and digitized. I can't be grateful enough that Doorstep Digital is in Houston to provide photo scanning services. I needed to get some precious photos of my father enlarged and printed on canvas for his 100th birthday and I was frustrated to find out that I lost the CD where the photos were stored. All I had left were the photo prints. I searched Google for help ti scan the prints but most companies required for me to box items and ship them out to be scanned. I was leery to send out my irreplaceable photos in the mail so thank goodness I found Doorstep Digital on Yelp and Jack responded immediately. Problem solved! Because the scanning is performed at the client's location, Doorstep Digital offers a level of convenience and peace-of-mind that cannot be matched by its competitors. The assets most precious and difficult to divide in divorce aren't necessarily those of monetary value but rather the mementos of family life. During more than 25 years of marriage, our family had accumulated more than 8,000 photographs from the pre-digital age, some preserved in albums, some displayed in frames, and still more that remained stored in the original envelopes in which they'd been placed by whatever service we'd had develop the film. In mediation, I proposed that rather than divide the family photographs, we have them all digitized. That way, we would all have access to those irreplaceable treasures and could remove divvying the photos as a source of conflict. I was responsible for arranging to have the photos digitized and I feared the emotional toll of going through all those photos from happier times, especially the wedding album and baby books. As a professional graphic designer, I know what is required to produce high quality digital reproductions of photographs and was afraid to entrust our family photos to a cheap bulk service - the risk of damage and or loss in the shipping process is quite real and if the scans weren't performed at high resolution, the prints created from those files would not have the same quality as the original prints. Some of the photos our children loved most pre-dated our marriage - for example, my daughter treasured an album of photographs documenting my father's trip to Israel in the 1940s. Those historical photos were still in pretty good shape, but without digitizing them, they would not have retained their quality for decades to come. Of all the potential vendors I contacted, only Jack Perry was responsive to my questions. When I sent him a description of our project and a few snapshots, he provided an estimate within minutes. (That the project came in under the maximum range of the quote he provided is a mark of his expertise.) Jack and two archivists arrived at my home on time and set up shop promptly. They were friendly, respectful and efficient and took time and care with details like cleaning the glass those frames from which photos could not be easily removed and keeping the photos in the chronological order in which my daughter and I had arranged them. At the end of the day, I was able to cross one BIG item off the worry list. I have reviewed a significant portion of the files on the flash drive Digital Doorstep provided and to my great relief, they are excellent (even the photos that had to be left in the terrible acetate albums so popular in the '70s). From the moment I contacted Jack via email, he was nothing but professional. He was very clear about the process, pricing and how the day would be conducted. I found Doorstep Digital by simply "Googling" digitizing photos. What came up first was mail in companies. I had lots of questions about them - Where would I be mailing my photos? I had quite a large amount photos so I didn't feel comfortable not knowing where they were being sent or how they would be handled. I also wanted to know if they would organize them in the manner they would be sent and when would they be returned. Many of the sites charged per photo; that is very costly. I want to tell you about my wonderful experience with doorstep digital . I had been looking at giant boxes for 30 plus years of photos I was going to get organized. Well it is now 2014 and it still hadn't happened. My grownchildren were always asking for childhood pictures. So I began to look into scanning - 3 years ago I bought my own printer scanner- well I didn't do that either. So recently I looked on the Internet and saw digital doorstep did research and read their rave reviews. I put in a call and the next week jack perry and his team of 4 set up at my house and scanned 19000 plus pictures. This first crop wasn't orginized but when I uploaded them to my computer it was so much easier to organize and delete doubles and scenery pictures I could even remember what they were.
