The staff was friendly and professional. The wifi was fast! The room was small but nice and modern. They brought in a small bed for our daughter. Lots of toiletries and towels. Breakfast was amazing. They kept the food coming and the waiters quickly removed plates from the tables. It was a calm and relaxing atmosphere. Check out the next day was also pleasant. But for me, I prefer a little more local atmosphere. Sometimes imperfection or quirkiness allows for a better overall travel experience. If you are hosting a business meeting or just want a comfortable bed before your early flight out of Frankfurt the next day, then this might be exactly what you are looking for. Side note, the Lufthansa Bus stops here and takes you north to the airport (about 1 hr 15 minutes).

I Ate at at least 12 different restaurants all within walking distance (under a KM) from the hotel front door. For American tourists a KM is a little more than half a mile. That same radius get you two two different tram stations where for 2.7 Euros you can ride the whole system in one direction. And if you are into shopping you hit the high end to the smallest mom and Pop shop, again in the same radius. Two groups will find the Leonardo lacking. If you spend a lot of time in your room, you wont find that the rooms are very spacious. Some of the furniture arrangements are outright cramped and that's for European standards, not considering what the typical US chain hotel offers space-wise. English only speakers also wont find a lot of television selection either. I think only CNN international and BBC had English programming. Gym Junkies will also have their frustration. While they have a small pool, something that not many European hotels I have stayed in have the exercise equipment is pretty sad. One treadmill, one elliptical machine and one stationary bike is that you will have an opportunity to use for a calorie burn. And the gym setting is kinda sad. Reminds me of a 1950's fat farm. I can't imagine anyone thinks the gym decor is even close to modern. Another highlight; the Breakfast buffet, which is well stocked and has a lot of EU and US choices. There will certainly be something there for everyone. So don't stay in you room, there's a lot to see in Manheim, Enjoy he eating and shopping nearby. Heidelberg Marriott Hotel, Heidelberg, Germany…read more The Heidelberg Marriott Hotel is located on the riverbank of Heidelberg, just west of the city center. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Eric checked me in quickly and thanked me for being a Marriott Elite member. He took the time to offer me a few different upgrades. In the end I chose the King room, balcony with river view. I rarely have a vehicle, but this time I did have a rental car. Parking is 25 Euro per day in their underground, covered garage. The room was screaming for renovation. The often-used wood areas of the furnishings were all worn down. The green carpet - well, I do not think I need to say anything more about that! The bed was hard as a rock, but the sheets were of good cotton quality as were the feather pillows. Without those quality sheets, this bed would have been very uncomfortable, as I prefer a softer bed. The bathroom was dark, and the wall tile reminded me of being at grandma's house! Aside from the decorative items, the room was very clean. The balcony was absolutely wonderful as the day I visited the weather was beautiful. I spent a few hours sitting on that balcony getting some work done while enjoying the view of the river. This property has a club level lounge for elite members. It was open until 2300 daily and had an evening reception with wine and beer. The lounge also had a large outdoor deck, also with great views of the river. The lounge attendant was very attentive. The food offerings were a bit bland, but the wine was good! This property has a very nice restaurant in the lobby and an indoor pool is also available. This property really tries hard with the hotel it has. If the rooms were updated, I could easily give this property a 5-star rating. For now, I will be rating this hotel with 4 stars.

Despite they prominently advertise the Clash Restaurant on their website: it does not exist. Nor does parking, or the twin rooms we reserved, or towels in our room. My wife and I had one floor mat and one hand towel to share. That aside, the non smoking room was previously occupied by a smoker - yuk. We tried to change, no luck. We had two new staff who had never met. They were hesitate to share one double bed. A twin room - two separate beds - was reserved for them, but not available. I mentioned that we had cancelled one room. Despite the strong language of the cancel policy on their website we had to pay the room. I tried to heal the tense situation in the staff by getting our canceled (and prepaid) room - no luck. They said they will refund me €10 for a room I had prepaid with €100 - as I could not get it. Great business model. I gave notice to our headquarter not to book this hotel again. Why two stars then? The hotel is actually quite stylish. Everything else deserves zero stars. Do not book this hotel.
