We had breakfast multiple days and tried something different every time, all of it was so yummy. We did sample lunch dinner and dessert as well. I have trouble with dairy and didn't even feel like I was settling on anything with the menu. 10 out of 10 we will stay here again. Also the bus stops are close so not having a car didn't stop us from exploring Inverness with ease. But seriously that view!

To begin with, it's more of a motel and Bed & Breakfast than a hotel, Sorry! And that's ok, but don't call yourselves a hotel if your restaurant closes at 8p, there's no elevator for people with disabilities and there's no front desk or other accommodations. We arrived in a Sunday and were told the restaurant closes at 8:15p. The town nearby all closed down, so this should be advertised immediately. Tourist have elderly folks and children and nowhere is it announced. There is no bell hop services, so if you bring luggage, be prepared to lug it yourself. For a hostel, five stars for a hotel 2 at most. There is no air conditioning. On a hot night, good luck. First time in Scotland and we do a great deal of touring around the world. We also work hard for our vacation money as most here I am sure do. Not recommending this place. Staying just tonight and never coming back. Sorry!

We left early for planned events a couple times and they brought breakfast to our room at 6am and wanted to at 3am when we left for the airport. Had a bad day so they gave us a couple flasks of whiskey. The area is historic and beautiful. They warned us that while Uber shows it was there, they are not and they charge, then never show up. The only thing I could say was a little disappointing was no AC so we kept the windows opened as it was cool enough and they advertised a small fridge but they had none. Lastly, we prepaid for breakfast but if you wanted something other than a Scottish breakfast, you had to pay for it like waffles or pancakes. Other than that, a perfect stay.

Beautiful large main building housing the restaurant, sitting room and perhaps guest rooms. Beyond that are cottages and our 4-room (all small) apartment called The Writer's Room. We walked from the main house through a beautiful English country garden to get there. Stunning, even in September w grasses, blooming plants and pebble paths. Just beyond that is an orchard of fruit trees..we picked an apple plus fresh apples and plums were in a bowl in our room. The four rooms included a small bathroom w shower (sorry, no bath), a large writers room that included a desk, two sitting chairs and a fireplace, and a small kitchen that led into the bedroom. Towels were plush and large. The space was cozy with beautiful wooden beams across each one of the rooms. And wait, for the best part. From our greeting at the front door to all of the servers at the restaurant, all of the hotel staff were young, sprightly and extremely personable. We did not pre-book our restaurant reservations, but we probably should have. The restaurant was definitely a destination restaurant. We had options of either two or three course à la cart menu or a 7-course surprise menu. We opted for the à la cart and it was truly wonderful. The plating and food were Michelin quality but at a slightly lesser price point. Our only disappointment was that we only booked this for night and that we had to depart at 6 AM for a very early flight. Next time we will stay for at least two nights. Kudos to management and the staff.

The massage, the 30 minute neck, back and shoulder massage was lovely, the treatment room nice, and the Elemis products they used were nice. 3. The afternoon tea, there was so much food we couldn't finish the cakes! A special mention has to go to the still warm scones and lashings of clotted cream. 4. The view, sitting in the outdoor hot tub in January looking out over the Moray Firth was just stunning! The lows: 1. The changing rooms are a bit tired looking, more like an old council leisure centre than a hotel spa. 2. The sauna, the nails in the benches were uncovered so were really hot and burny when you sat down! Overall, I liked it, and for what it cost it was great value for money!

The staff couldn't have been friendlier. We purchased the inclusive breakfast and dinner package and were not disappointed - food was very good and well presented. It was nice to come back to the hotel after a long day of golf and/or sightseeing and sit down to a delicious meal with awesome views. Highly recommend.

The main staircase led only to our room. Outside our door was a chair that was hundreds of years old. A throne, basically. Story is that Queen Victoria sat in it...maybe, maybe not. Still amazing. The room was stunning. The copper tub was my highlight. We asked about a ghost tour. They said "come back at 10:45". We forced ourselves to stay awake. We met Rodney. It was just the 3 of us. He proceeded to give us a 2+ hour long history of the castle with a tour that included the dungeon. Directly under OUR room. And yes, ghost stories with photos. As much as I wanted to be scared, Rodney could tell I also wanted to sleep so he kept the stories tame and didnt share them about our particular room. It retrospect I wish he had. Who needs sleep? We had dinner in their bar, The Green Lady. It was delicious and I discovered rubarb and ginger Edinburgh Gin. Our stay was outstanding. Everything we had hoped for. Recommend 100%!

The beautiful plaster ceilings, wooden banisters, and overall preserved elegance were noted and the service to present all the meals showed the staff truly cared about making everything special. I could see this being a lovely destination wedding venue or something special since Dingwall is so close to Inverness. The story of the family that lived here was interesting and apparently if your lucky you can see a ghost!
