Wow! What a find, and such a beautiful setting. Right on the river with a huge deck watching the…read moreferry cross back and forth, and the boaters lounging about. Einstein had a summer house near here...if I lived in Berlin full time, I'd want a summer house here too. The food was really good (and well priced) and the service was amazing when compared to what I've become used to in Berlin. Everyone was super friendly; even the other patrons who were much quicker to talk to the strangers at neighboring tables than I'm used to Germans doing. Or maybe it's just the inhabitants of Berlin who are grumpy and countryside Germans are friendly? I have no idea...maybe it was really way too beautiful of a night to be anything other than super friendly and happy.
If you happen to be on a trip visiting Sansouci in Potsdam, I can't imagine a better place to grab a meal. It's about 12km from Sansouci, but it's a beautiful drive along the river and really made the visit to Potsdam feel more like a summer vacation than a day outing. Try to time it to be here around sunset...really really beautiful.
