Lately, I've been having terrible service in correctional to picking up uniforms. I went to go grab my husbands uniforms to be met with rudeness, disrespect, and terrible customer service. This started when I entered the establishment requesting to receive his uniforms. When requesting his uniforms, I was left with blank stares, completely being ignored. Once I was finally acknowledged, they answered me with they are currently trying to find them. What made the situation even more unprofessional was when the women went out the store, chasing other customers who picked their uniforms up just before me, searching either their cars or the uniforms they were currently holding, trying to find his uniforms. She re-entered the establishment empty handed. Thats when I proceeded to ask, "so do you not know where his uniforms are"? That is when she told me, "they're in the back". Once the uniforms were found, she brought them to the front without updating me with anything. So I asked again, "Do you not know where my husband's uniforms are"? She responded with, "Do you not know what your husband's uniforms look like"? This entire situation was very uncalled for, especially with the unprofessional name calling. I am afraid I will no longer be doing business there from now on. read more

i have been bringing my clothes here for 8 years. recently i brought in some items and noticed the prices were much higher. i questioned the lady named JEANETTE... 2 days ago i finally had the money to pick up my items. she never smiles and was rude saying " oh these were brought in a month ago" i put my 5 lb. dog down to pay her and she had a accident. no paper towels out either..so i go to my car to load the clothes and she comes out and says "your dog peed on our rug" i told her i looked for paper towels but nothing was out. then my dog pooped on the sidewalk and i immediately picked that up as she watched me. she told me throw that in the garbage down the block as all the customers were listening. i offered to clean up the rug as she had already brought out a spray bottle and so many paper towels it looked like a large dog clean up.i said "this is overkill". so i took all the paper towels and tossed them in the garbage can at the end of the block. never again will i go there. Only reason I come here is the quick turn around and usually good work. They can manage to get your uniforms done pretty much in the same day if you get there early enough but expect at least a 1 day turn around. Main problem is that since it's in Oceanside near Camp Pendleton, pretty much every single Marine comes here to get their uniforms tailored, dry cleaned, or pressed. Even as we speak I'm standing in a long line because everyone is trying to pick up their uniforms before it closes on a Sunday night since it's likely needed on Monday. Earlier when I called them, they didn't answer for the first 5mins then I had to call again and they finally answered. Whoever answered the phone sounded a bit rude but it's understandable since they have a TON of customers and only like 2-3 people working the cashiers. They probably need to hire more people or expand somehow because of how popular they are. Now I've definitely been here more than once and haven't failed me. You just have to come on the right days or times so you don't end up in a LONG line unless you somehow love lines then I ain't judging you haha read more

Do not go to this dry cleaner!! This is the worst dry cleaner/alteration place ever!! The employees are rude, lazy, worst customer service and alterations of any dry cleaner ever! They have messed up sooo many of my clothes and it's extremely expensive! I don't don't have this place is even still in business. They can't even sew on buttons correctly!!! The dry cleaning I really don't think they do anything, honestly I think they lint brush the clothes and spray fabreeze on them and then pass the clothes on like they actually dry cleaned the item. This is only for the woman working in the alterations. I've brought a lot of work here but when I deal with the woman in the alterations side it's always a no go. I've dealt with the man working and he has done the work for me but the woman on 2 separate occasions has told me "no we don't do that here or it's impossible to do" my mother was a dress maker for 50 years and she could do anything so narrowing pants or making a blazer shorter is not impossible and a basic alteration. If my mom was still here I wouldn't be bringing my stuff to this place and putting up with the attitude with the rejection. I think they specialize in military clothing and basic hems and patches. It would be best if they said that. I took my work elsewhere and it was pretty basic and they could do it. read more

I have had but one issue with Dorothy's that everyone I am sure has had, the line passed 3PM is crazy!! However the store itself handles it well for being a smaller independent dry cleaner. The turn in ratio is quick and has my uniform ready in less than two days with no rush fee. I have heard horror stories regarding the mis matching of rank, sewing on patches incorrectly and handing out someone else's dry cleaning however with such a big turn around mistakes happen. Honestly for the low prices it can't be beat! Had a service stripe sewn with dry cleaning of my dress top and it only ran me $8.50. The cashiers are all very friendly and the tailors knowledgeable. The line does bleed out into the street and leaves very little room in the small store itself. Much much much better than going on base however! I made a mistake when order and selected the wrong star type. I reached out to them via email asking the best way I could replace them and they gave me a call within a few hours. She walked me through what I should use and how I could remove and replace the star without ruining the stack. I will definitely use them for future medals purchases. read more

This was my first time going here and will probably be my last... I dropped off my Navy dress blue's to get cleaned/pressed, and to have an HA/E-2 patch sewn on. They don't make Corpsman E-2 patches so you have to buy an E-3 patch and have them cut off a stripe. I bought the patch and told the girl this, she knew "exactly" what I was talking about and on my receipt it had said E-2. Flash forward a week later at 6pm when the receipt said I could pick it up, I go out of my way to get it and they told me it's not ready..... So I go back the next day, I pick it up, I bring it all the way home and I see that they put the E-3 patch on as is... so my first uniform inspection tomorrow at my new command is going to be REALLY fun when they see that I "ranked myself up". Growing up in this Military town, but not being in the Military myself I have this sort of outsiders view of the service, supply, surplus establishments in the area from barbershops to dry cleaning, alterations as they are always busy and people seem to get in and out quickly. I came in here needing some dog tags made to replace some made in commemoration of a fallen friend. $10 for customs since they aren't mil spec issued and I was out the door in 10 minutes, chain, silencers, 2. RIP Sotelo I have to say that the machine they used was super old school type writer belted fan style, very industrial. As I walked around they had some custom embroidery being done to a belt, lots of accessories, patches, things one might been that are approved yet not standard issue. Friendly service. A little disorganized. Will come back for tags, though I doubt I'll be needing anything else they sell here. They are pushing some serious business Sunday night pickups, so be wary of the rush. read more

Paid over $45 for tapes and rank to be sown on. It was my second time paying for their services and second time I had to ask them to redo the alignment of them. I was brought to the back of the store where all the sowing was happening and was scolded for 10mins on how the alignment wasn't her fault. Then was left awkwardly and uncomfortably there and made to watch the lady redo my blouse. I paid over $45 for the requests on my uniform to be neatly done. Not scolded in the back like that. Brought a bridesmaid dress here to get 2 inch hemmed from the bottom as it was too long. No other alterations done,they charged me $45. Seven other girls in the wedding getting the same thing done to the dress paid $20ish at other places, several in Orange County. I mentioned this when I dropped dress off and the lady behind the counter told me too bad I should take it there. It was busy this night and unfortunately I waited until last minute so I just agreed to pay more than double than my friends. I also mentioned this again when I went to pick the dress up but received a similar response. I have been coming here on and off for years. I have never had an issue they wouldn't fix right away and have never been disappointed with the level of service. People can wax poetic about military towns and the predatory practices that abound but in the end the beauty of being an adult is the ability to choose who you give your money to! I for one can find very few places that will provide you this level of service at this price and most importantly at this speed!!! I had a custom suit that was a little big on me still so I needed to have it tailored a little bit more. I was apprehensive about having it tailored again but I needed it and needed it fast. They delivered. Full tailor, clean and press, same day!! This is the sort of thing that is always and emergency so to have this service available is a god send. Give them a shot, you will not be disappointed! its also one stop shopping so you can show up with your garments and buy most of the stuff you need to have placed on the uniforms right there. You cant put a price on that level of convenience. Finally, everyone knows that you don't bring your medals to the cleaners...dont be a rookie, remove the devices, buttons, medals, ribbons, ect.. BEFORE going to the cleaners so you don't have to worry about beating them up while there. I highly recommend this shop for your fast and furious last minute needs as well as any other jobs you might have! Why not 5 stars? They weren't wrong, excellent service all around took my Scorpion Covert Riding Jeans in Wednesday afternoon, had them fitted and tapered by the tailor and they did an outstanding job very quickly I had my jeans back on Friday of the same week! Excellent work, they copied the original excessive stitching perfectly and used heavy thread like original design. Jeans fit look and feel perfect now. Was only 25 dollars for the tapering. I take all of my uniforms here. They do an outstanding job; it is always extremely busy at this store because they are the best. The prices are expensive, but the wait time is so minuscule. They can achieve same-day tasks, but will charge you extra. They have never let me down. I paid $16 for a set of Utilities that needed brand-new name tapes and a sewing job. I got my Dress Blue Alpha's ready at this tailor shop and they custom-mounted my Medals, meaning they made it thinner and more sleek. It looks incredibly crispier and more professional.
