Has it really been 30 years?! Passing through Boulder and craving breakfast- Dots is still here?! OMG YESSSSS! We were welcomed with big smiles and a wall of aprons. Ambiance is nostalgic as ever and the food is still as tasty I remember! Feels like home- I had the spinach omelette and I love the option to choose a smaller size and boy did they make my bacon perfectly crispy! We will always stop here when passing through and hope it lasts forever!!!

Went there for breakfast and this place does not disappoint. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. Had the homemade corned beef hash and eggs and it was yummy. The coffee is a little bitter but overall very happy. The service was good and the waitstaff were cheerful and pleasant.

Great ambience and delicious food - went with a group of ten and had wonderful service and a delicious breakfast - first ate here in 1996 - would come back again and again if I lived in the area still.

Back in my day.... this is one of those. I used to eat at Dot's on the Hill 20 years ago... EEK. And while that location no longer exists, this one, located in a strip mall, with plenty of parking and views of the Flat Irons from their small, but mighty outdoor area still hits. I went with the biscuit and their incredible raspberry jam that still tastes the exact same and their breakfast burrito smothered in green chile. Not as spicy as it used to be, but they still serve it piping hot telling you not to touch that scorching plate. Smothered in cheese and green chili, the breakfast burrito is filled with eggs, potatoes and black beans. It's filling and wholesome and while maybe not the best breakfast burrito I've ever had, it's still incredible and I absolutely love that somethings never change. Service is still the same, authentic, alternative and it may take more time than you wanted for your check, but it's part of the charm. Dot's Diner is legendary; always has been and always will.

Great nostalgic American diner vibe. Good food, great service, kind people. My 'Go-To' breakfast place in Boulder, Colorado.

The quality and cleanliness is hit or miss. Hadn't been In a while and wanted a classic quirky type breakfast. The veggie egg scramble special surpassed my expectations! The toast, bacon and coffee were fairly lackluster, but overall was happy with this visit, including the cleanliness and friendly staff. I do miss the hill location but what can you do.

Our server was fabulous. She told me of all their gluten free options. I had an omelette of spinach and mushrooms, which was good. But the crème de la crème was the gluten free biscuit! OMG! The best gluten free anything I've ever had. Made there, secret recipe! Crispy on the outside, warm and moist in the inside. And the home fries were obviously homemade as well. Well seasoned and cooked. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that the place could use a decor refresh. But we will definitely go back!

Arnold's eggs substitute bacon for ham and added a pancake and a side of hash browns.

The service was great; food came out quickly and hot. Everything tasted good; it is typical diner food but did not disappoint!

It's a Boulder classic. Amazing breakfast. The AM sandwich never misses. Quirky wait staff and casual atmosphere. I hope they never change.

I loved the big chandeliers and brick wall. Our server, Skylar, was fantastic. She was personable, welcoming, and enhanced the entire dining experience. My friend and I started with the churro donuts to share. These were the perfect sweet treat (because who can have brunch without something sweet for the table?) It comes with a dulce de leche and a coffee anglaise that was so delicious. For my main I went with the fireside eggs. This was exceptional! Flavourful shakshuka with perfectly poached eggs, avocado and feta served alongside naan bread. This meal was comforting and delicious without being overly filling. I can't recommend The Kitchen enough! If I'm ever back in Boulder I will definitely be back. I would love to try the lunch or dinner menu!

There are only two tables on their patio that have an umbrella, so we were sitting in the sun at first and it was getting really hot (but then we were able to snag a shaded table when it freed up shortly after) All of the menu options sounded so good, we started with drinks, I can't remember the name of my cocktail, but it had egg white in it and was so delicious. We ordered the burrata appetizer and all of our means at the same time. Unfortunately, the appetizer never came out, our server for that to put it in. I ended up going with the Bolognese and it was really good so was the steak frites and street cart chicken that my friends had. Their fries are pretty good. The server felt really bad for forgetting about our appetizer and offered us a free dessert instead, so we tried the churro donuts which were ok. I'm still it was a good meal and I would definitely come back if I'm in the Boulder area again soon

The whole space feels warm and relaxed in a way that makes you want to stay longer than planned. Food was genuinely very good across the board and the service struck that perfect balance of being attentive without constantly interrupting the table or hovering over conversations. I'd especially recommend it for small groups or date nights because it manages to feel social without getting overwhelmingly loud. I think the best thing about River and Woods is the interior and exterior decoration. It is very clear that a lot of thought and time was put into the atmosphere here. From the cute door knocker to the bathroom wallpaper, the theme is well-executed. The food was a bit disappointing. The blue oyster mushroom appetizer was extremely salty. I thought it was just me but the rest of the table agreed as well. My trout was well-cooked and I enjoyed it quite a bit. The chicken was also salty although cooked well. I did not try the burger but I was told it was salty as well. The prices of all the items were quite high for what I thought was presented. Service was good and thankfully our waters were filled frequently for how much water we were drinking due to the high salt content.

Now these top-end cuts have a price tag that I'm guessing most of us have to save up for, but they have some "regular" cuts that will bring the yum at a more affordable price. The drinks were definitely expensive, but we were happy to pay for a quality experience at an upscale restaurant. We ordered multiple appetizers, had several drinks, sat at the bar for quite a while, and honestly about to leave thinking this was a place we would probably come back to. That changed the second the bill arrived. Buried into the check was a 7% "kitchen surcharge." In other words, the restaurant decided to pass along kitchen payroll costs directly onto the customer without being upfront about it. If you're not paying close attention, you could easily end up tipping on top of that surcharge as well, essentially paying an extra hidden fee without realizing it. At a restaurant positioning itself as upscale and classy, this came across as incredibly tacky and cheap. Pay your staff properly and price your menu accordingly instead of sneaking surprise fees onto the bill at the very end. That's not hospitality. That's the kind of nickel and diming people expect from budget airlines, not a supposedly high end dining experience. It completely ruined what had otherwise been a nice night. We were seriously considering coming back before this happened. Now we won't return.
