A good place for drinking and games. Double J has a lot of action going on. It has sports on TV and there's also slots. Good stuff on tap and always interesting conversation. The prices are kind of high for a place like this. It has some cheap good drinks. Most kinds of things one would expect. They have mostly typical mass produced beer in bottles it seems. For those only caring if it's cheap it is. The bottles of common stuff like Bud are $2 or so. Food isn't served here but it can be brought in. Get delivery from a few places. A place for some betting entertainment. The slots provide the rest of the excitement behind the watching of sports events by active and not so active individuals. The first thing when I thought of when I heard of the Double J sports bar was professional wrestler, Double J, Jeff Jarrett. Nope, this bar isn't a reference to him either. I passed this bar up numerous times and I had to try it out. This bar is the BEST bar in the Joliet area! This place is alive and full of life! Most of the people that come here are 24-35. It's a great crowd of a variety of people. They are open later on the weekends. The prices aren't bad but the atmosphere is amazing! The food area isn't open but it's a separate entity from the bar apparently. The outdoor area is great if you smoke or vape. The bar has tons of TVs and amenities to keep you entertained. What gives this place a down is that the quality of the drinks are sub par. Bartenders lack knowledge of the drinks at times and don't know their customers tabs at all honestly. Prices are more uppity for a local bar. None the less Double Js has been here for 20 years. It definitely is attractive and was worth my time none the less. read more

I always enjoy this place when I visit with friends: the music is always upbeat and right on par with whatever my beer-lined brain wants, the drinks are inexpensive (I ordered a vodka lemonade for my friend and a Green Line for myself and the receipt read $7!), there's darts, and the restrooms are always clean. This is definitely one of the spots I look forward to coming to when I visit the Joliet/Shorewood area from Chicago! I've visited quite a few times in the last 2-3 years, and stopped in very recently on a Thursday night in January with a group of friends. We easily grabbed a table by the front door nearest the darts corner, and it wasn't hard to get the bartender's attention when ordering drinks. I did try to order one of the drinks I saw on a poster by our table, but the bartender told me they don't sell it. Maybe it was from the summertime? Either way I'll come back here again and again, because it's unpretentious and always offers up a very fun night for my friends and I! I ordered a couple of drinks for my buddies and the total was $21.50 so I gave the bartender $40 and she gave the wrong change back ($3.50). She accused me of lying and would not give me the correct change back... I let the situation go and she continued to harass me and my friends claiming "she makes more in a night then I do all week". The situation continued to escalate after I walked away and she asked security to kick me out when I did nothing wrong. If I could give this place zero stars I would. It smelt awful inside with little to no atmosphere. Would 100% not suggest going here read more

Not really crowded on a Friday night. Inside was kinda small with a beer garden off to the side. Place is known for karaoke but, thankfully there wasn't any when I got there. Wish there was a better beer selection with only 4 taps and LaBatt being the most exotic of the group and Sam Adams the only craft offering. Service was good, seemed like a down to earth place to enjoy cheap macro beer, catch in a game, and maybe enjoy a frozen pizza, which is their only food offering. read more

Every time i have stopped at Double J i always end up having a good time! I usually am in Joliet to visit family and being from Chicago i am obsessed with how cheap everything is here! Went there last weekend and the weather was so nice we wanted to sit on the patio but all the tables were reserved for a party (bummer) but after 10 or 15 minutes the staff said we could sit there since it seemed like part of the party wasn't there so that was awesome! The only negative thing is that they seemed to be out of a couple things. They advertised 312 on a sign behind the bar but were confused when i asked for it. The bartender gave me my next drink on the house and i was very appreciative! So if you're in the area check this place out! read more

Went to this bar a few weeks ago and waited for several minutes to get the bartender's attention before getting served, which was annoying but I let it go because everyone's entitled to an off day. Went back last night with my brother in-law, who was served immediately because he knows the staff, and I stepped into his place, cash in hand, when he walked away with his drinks. The girl behind the bar glanced up after a few minutes and muttered "be right with you," and then proceeded to actively ignore me while she dumped out and counted her tip jar in front of me, closed checks, and chatted with other customers. The man behind the bar, Brian, stood at the computer while on the phone, seemingly entering an order forever, which is confusing since they don't have a kitchen. Altogether, I stood and waited and got ignored for 10 full minutes, which is an eternity for thirsty people, and ultimately walked away empty handed. I am a bartender myself and have more patience than most when I see a worker is overwhelmed, but the bar WAS NOT BUSY!!! I like the bar and I like the patio, but the service was inexcuseable and I won't go back. My BIL told me the girl was new, but that's no excuse for sloppy service. read more
