I normally don't write reviews, but my experience with this taxidermy shop was so bad I feel like I…read moreshould warn other people--especially anyone bringing in waterfowl. Their customer service is awful. I sent multiple clear photos of the exact pose I wanted for my duck mount, and somehow they still managed to do something completely different. Not once did they reach out with a question, an update, or even a heads-up that they couldn't achieve the pose. They just delivered a mount that looks nothing like what I asked for. To make it worse, the quality is terrible. I have zero experience in taxidermy, and at this point I honestly feel like I could have figured out how to mount a duck in a tenth of the time it took them--and probably done it better. It even forced me to give them one star just to post this review, and honestly that feels generous. If you care about your waterfowl or want a shop that communicates and respects your instructions, save yourself the frustration and go literally anywhere else. This place is not it.

I also know of Jessie's professional and ethical business practices. By every measure he offers value, quality workmanship, competitive pricing, and sincere concern for customer wants and needs. Whatever your taxidermy requirements, I am confident Jessie will do an outstanding job for you.

I recently dealt with comal taxidermy through Instagram, and I spent $1,000 (talked down from…read more$1,500) on a skull I was told was in perfect condition and taken from a pet that was euthanized by a vet. They say they did not process the skull itself So I let the horrible paint job on it go, but after I began degreasing I noticed there were multiple places that had insanely thick layers of apoxie sculpt. After cleaning the skull more, the apoxie repairs finally came off and I noticed bullet wounds all over the top half of the skull and on one side of the lower jaw.. I'm not going to even get into the fact that under the paint, the skull isn't even done degreasing. I contacted them about it and was basically called a liar. I was told they were NOT bullet holes and that the animal was not put down via gun even after I showed photo proof. I know they were aware there was bullet damage because they mounted this beast and also had to have seen the humungous blow out in the side behind the eye socket considering afterward I've noticed it's in the original post I saw of the skull. As someone who processes skulls for my personal collection AND for others I think I would know what bullet damage looks like, especially since I process many farm animals I was offered a skull for the issues but ended up turning it down because as taxidermists they get skulls for free all the time at no cost to them. I never got an offer for even a slight refund. if you check their other posts they have bears for sale that are in supposed pristine condition but the one has obvious apoxie repair on lower jaw on the one bear, the skull has screws inbit for God's sake.. that's now how you keep the jaw attached.. and the back of the skull is cut off on the other bear.. all I can say is stick to taxidermy because you don't know skulls.
