Ate lunch last week in Twist during Eagles convention. Quesadilla was outstanding! Food was out in less than 15 minutes. Service was great.

I'm here for work and chose this hotel because I'm a Hilton Diamond member. While the staff is polite and the entrance looks nice, the rooms are absolutely unacceptable. There is a strong mold/mildew odor that immediately triggered a severe migraine. The room feels dirty, outdated, and unhealthy -- to the point where it's genuinely uncomfortable to stay. A pleasant lobby does not make up for rooms that feel unsanitary. This property desperately needs a full renovation. I'm extremely disappointed and honestly grossed out. read more

In town for work. This hotel is close to the plant I need to go so a perfect fit. The building is older but it is really well maintained. Super close to the Tennessee River, unfortunately I didn't get a room with the view. Room is clean and nicely decorated. The common area is beautiful and very roomy. Indoor and outdoor pools, nice fitness center with bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, weights, etc. $15 credit a day for food if you're Hilton Gold or above, which is perfect for the breakfast buffet. I can't believe this facility has a 2.7 rating. It's not new, as it is a renovated Holiday Inn but we had no issues. We were politely greeted at check in by Regan. We ate at the bar and received great service from Eric. We had the Shrimp appetizer along with BBQ chicken quesadillas and both were excellent. Our room was clean and quiet. So in summary , no issues at all. We will stop back here again on our way back home next week. Strong 5 stars. read more

Hard to believe this is a Doubletree by Hilton. Property is old and disrepair. Rooms are dirty and not well-maintained. We booked through a package with rock the south could not get housekeeping or clean towels during our stay finally checked out a day early and moved hotels. read more

Came for a wedding weekend after Christmas. Desk clerk Kristen (redhead) was nice. I did have to ask for breakfast coupons which came with room rate. Selected room 513 via website for riverview. Put our things in room & left for rehearsal & dinner. When I returned alone (BF stayed out with other groomsmen) tired & with headache at 9:30pm, key did not work. Kristen provided new key which also did not work. She called someone & went to room herself & stated she was able to use master key to get in & she could let me in the room & maintenance could come in morning. I did not want to be trapped in my room & not be able to leave so I agreed to move to room 413. She went to room with me to "help" me move & then left to check the key to room 413. I asked her if there was a manager I could talk to. She said they would call me the next day. I received no call & was left to move me & BFs luggage by myself! Since BF did not have a key to get into new room, he had to wake me up when he returned around 1am. Sunday morning...while checking out, told desk clerk who said she was a manager (Reagan, Rebeka, an R name) how inconvenient my experience had been & that no manager had contacted me. She stated she would put 10,000 rewards points on my Hilton Membership account as compensation, that has been over 2 weeks & I have received no such points. I would NOT recommend dealing with this hotel if staying in Decatur, AL! read more

This hotel did not live up to the Doubletree name in any way except the price. It was quite high for what you get. The wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, there was dirt around the edges of the floor, and the toilet paper holder was broken. The housekeeping service is nearly non-existent. If you need more towels, which you do because they don't put enough in your room for the number of guests, you have to walk through the odd hotel layout to get them yourself...they're not bringing them to your room. The pool was not running when we went in there and there was a film over the top of the water. The staff was mostly friendly but more than once they were very preoccupied with what was happening on their computer screens and took time to acknowledge us. We had such a wonderful stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Decatur Riverfront property. The front desk receptionist, Reagan, was so kind and understanding to us (after a previous difficult experience with another hotel.) She made sure that we had everything we needed in our room for our particular situation, including a nice sized couch and a bathtub. Breakfast the next morning was fantastic. Our server, Amy, was so friendly and took such good care of us. That day, Amy was training a new server, Logan. Both of them checked on us several times, to make sure that we had everything we wanted and needed. They both engaged us in conversation and made our breakfast an absolutely lovely experience. read more

It's kinda hard to explain. Hotel looks really nice, but then if you look closely, there are issues like shower door handles broken off, completely unable to use the plugs to charge anything because your block falls out (extremely loose), giant stain on the chair that looks like someone did something that I don't even want to think about, ice machine didn't work on the 3rd floor... But I guess the biggest disappointment was that we paid for a riverfront view and yeah, we got it but... I guess that's what we get for not studying a map closely, because our riverfront view was mostly AC units with the river WAY off in the distance. (See pic attached). I mean, it was fine for what we needed, restaurant was really good (5 star review for them), but overall not really up to our normal Hilton experience. Meh. read more

Upping score to three stars as the hotel manager credited me back for one of my two nights plus my additional expenses. The staff really tries hard to make your stay nice, but the property needs some TLC. When we checked in for a two night stay in a fifth floor river view room, we found that the a/c made an irritating noise that would have made sleep impossible. We were moved to the second floor where our view was of the a/c units on the roof of the conference rooms. On our second night one of the conference rooms hosted a concert that was much louder than the irritating a/c unit. In all my time as a Hilton Diamond member, this has to be worst hotel stay I've ever experienced! read more

Worst experience ever at a Hilton owned hotel! We are hold level honors and are ready to never stay at a Hilton again! --Keys don't work. --Hotel restaurant closed on Sat night! --Hotel restaurant confirmed Sun limited menu. We arrived back to the hotel Sunday expecting to eat, restaurant closed due to staffing! ---IT issue with internet hour and half no resolution--no help!!! --Perhaps the most ridiculous was when we received a call from the front desk stating a 911 call was received our room. I hope this was truly just the ridiculous and not the inadequate phone/IT system leaving someone in an unsafe situation. --Scheduled a wake up call. Didn't receive it. Front desk said we "usually" do those. That is great to know if you have a flight, etc. This hotel needs a management over haul or maybe just a manager. read more

Good hotel. The entrance is precariously placed in a way that if you're coming from the main road, it's easy to pull right in, but coming from any other direction is nearly impossible. Nearly got t-boned trying to get back after dinner. Our room was really dark and the view was pretty abysmal, but that's just our bad luck to get a second floor room that had a view of the carport and all the equipment on it. Not exactly the "Riverfront" feel I was hoping for. Otherwise it was clean and quiet, no complaints really. Fitness center was very nice, which was a welcome addition. Not many weights, but a good selection of cardio equipment. The pool looked VERY well maintained and is an indoor/outdoor pool, which was pretty unique and expertly designed. Didn't get a chance to swim, but I wish I had. We were only in for a night en route to our destination, so really just wanted to get up and back on the road the next morning, but this was a decent place to stop for the night. read more

When I checked in, I saw there were some renovations going on and this hotel definitely needs it. When I went into the room I noticed the carpet looked dirty, there was a hole in the wall... and seriously a hotel chain this big does not have a maintenance person who can put a toilet paper holder on the wall? And not only that the roll that was placed on the broken holder was not enough for 2 people for 2 days. There were not any additional rolls in the bathroom. When I pulled the chair desk out there was a rolled up dirty sock. That is when I went down to request a new room. I travel 95% off the time and pretty much live in hotels. As a top tier level (Diamond with Hilton and Titanium Elite with Marriott) for the major hotel chains I was very disappointed. I even had some billing issues with this chain that had to be fixed afterwards as well. I will be back in the area for business in a few weeks and will choose a different hotel. read more

The hotel was nice and the rooms are nice and spacious. But the beds are a little firm but manageable. The front desk girl named McKenzie is such a doll! She is so sweet and willing to help or answer any questions I had. The twist restaurant is very good especially the catfish and the salmon. The Bartender Elizabeth was AMAZING! by far hands down the best in the hotel! She was always on top of everything!! Now onto my dislike! The manager who orders for the bar needs to get their shit together and order some bottles. They either didn't have the the bottle or ran out! Like really?... as an old bartender your establishment needs to make sure that ALL bottles are available and ready for any customer at any given time! Luckily for me mine was available but that poor bartender had to keep apologizing telling people that something was out or they didn't have this/that! I do NOT blame the bartender by no means because she was awesome! But to whomever orders for the bar needs to get their life together and start doing right by their employees and customers and order enough bottles to keep the front shelf and back stocked with at-least 6/7 bottles ready at hand! The checkin online didn't work so we'd have that feature of not going to the front desk and have the ability to open our door without a key. The room was clean and stickerized for Covid clean. Bathroom was super small like getting in the shower or using the toilet small you had to avoid the bathroom door which was annoying. Did not like that at all!! My RV bathroom is bigger than that!! Here's the biggest issue I had. While I was in the shower I looked down and there's a medium size roach in there with me. I screamed for my husband to come get it and kill it!! So I'm sleeping with one eye open tonight and want be back!!!! Gross!!!! Oh yeh the towel and washcloth were soft. Only 2 of each. read more

Gosh... so many things went wrong with this stay... and I'm pretty sure the staff is so used to sub-par service, that they don't even believe that things are as bad as they are. A simple list of issues... cold breakfast (that should be hot), no stairs for guest use even though the elevators were not working properly, signage that wasn't accurate for amenity hours, lack of "guest first" attitude, dirty public spaces. Honestly, the staff doesn't seem to care that there are even guests in the building. They would rather play on their phones and gossip with each other, rather than handle guest concerns. Take my advice, find another place to stay. read more

I stayed in this hotel for two nights and was generally satisfied. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. My stay was spent in a king room that included a chase lounge, desk, microwave, mini-fridge and medium flat screen TV. The color scheme was rich and relaxing and the room was nicely cleaned. I was skipped for maid service the single full day, the lack of service caused a small issue with trash and towels. The room service menu was quite limited and more of a bar menu than a restaurant menu. The wine selection was limited, but the Moscato ordered was quite nice. The bed was comfortable and clean, the bathroom clean and taken care of. In room coffee setup was poor sadly. Overall, it is one of the better places to stay in Decatur. Compared to other hotels throughout the country, you may be disappointed. It is the equivalent of a two star hotel in larger areas. Due to limited amenities and service, quality or rooms and staff; I would look towards Madison or Huntsville for a good hotel experience. If you are looking for a bargain, it isn't too bad as the rates are much lower in Decatur. If you have to stay in Decatur or are looking for a deal I would stay again. If you are looking for luxury, it is the wrong hotel. read more

The hotel is relatively nice. We selected to stay in the hotel due to the large indoor/outdoor pool and location. We originally requested to have a river view room, but for some unknown reason we weren't given one. Our room was spacious with a living room set up when we walked in, which then was separated from the sleeping quarters. The biggest downfall to this hotel is the breakfast. In NO way is a hotel breakfast buffet worth $10.95 per person. Many people walked down and turned right back around and were complaining about it. My wife and I traveled with our two kids; this would have cost us $44 for my kids to eat mini box'd cereal (which cost $1 at the store, and for us to eat the same buffet style food we eat for free at any other hotel. read more

Two positives: --Nice lobby. Deceptively nice. --Great fitness center One In-the-Middle: --Breakfast was great. Not free, though--$10 per person in their restaurant. Based on the breakfast alone, the restaurant is likely a fine place. For the price of the hotel, you'd think the breakfast would be included. Negatives: --Room was not ready at 3 pm, which is when our receipt said it would be ready. (We're the same time zone, so I'll be entertaining no explanations.) The very nice woman at the front desk said they usually had their rooms ready at 4 pm, but our receipt said 3. Not to mention that we did not actually get into the room until 4:30. Annoying. --Place kind of smelled. Had that musty, moldy odor that makes you want to leave. --Kid threw up in pool. Parents, of course, were not around. People continued to swim. The point here is that there was no supervision whatsoever. --Room felt like a cave. Dark and no view. --Interior layout was bizarre. Hard to get to the room with a cart. --Really just an awful stay. Decent hotel, but although modernized décor, still felt like the Brady Bunch in the 1970's. Clean and comfortable, and our riverfront room was quiet, unlike the other reviews. Check in was frustrating, as they helped 2 other customers before me (I was first). I had to hand my license out and be assertive to be helped. They gave me 1 cookie for the 2 of us, although the fella before me got 4 (I sound picky, but little things make a difference). Elevator safety certificate was expired. No free breakfast or paper. Free Wi-Fi for rewards members didn't work because I didn't know my member # or PIN (they informed me all I needed was last name and room number). Very average hotel. read more

I like staying here because of the location and it's got very nice finishes. However if facing the road, be prepared to be up all night. It's so noisy from all of the trucks. Then some of the other rooms are small. See attached photo of the bathroom in this double room. You can't use the toilet without the toilet paper hitting you. It can unroll into the trash or toilet because this bathroom is so small. What a complete design fail! read more

This hotel is just Ok. I've stayed here several times mainly for work. I booked a room with a credit card. My wife and I arrived from different states. She arrived first and was made to put an amount for the entire stay on her credit card. I know this was probably beyond their control but, cable was out for two days during our stay. No regular coffee was available. Only decaf. Just go to the comfort Inn priceville. Free breakfast there unlike the doubletree. read more

I recently stayed in the DoubleTree by Hilton in Decatur, AL for a few days. The whole place was recently remodeled, and has a "new" feel to it. The king-size bed was huge and comfortable. The bathroom had a walk-in tiled shower (but no tub if you should need one). It even had hot water and decent water pressure. Our room overlooked the Tennessee River and had a nice view. The breakfast buffet was quite good, convenient and reasonably-priced. My only complaint is something I doubt the hotel can do anything about, and that is the noise from trucks slowing down using engine breaks when coming over the nearby bridge at all hours (like 2:00 and 3:00 am). read more

Great experience while attending Alabama Jubilee. Nice, spacious hotel with comfortable rooms and pleasant, attentive staff. We forgot a plug for our USB iPhone charger and the front desk staff were pleased to lend us one. We had breakfast in the restaurant the following morning. It was good. Lots of options. Only complaint was that it took a long time for our omelette sir be delivered. The server apologized without being prompted, but by the time they arrived we were full from the other food. I felt wasteful and disappointed that I missed out on a tasty looking omelette! Overall, highly recommend this hotel if your in the area. read more

Poor customer service. Most of the front desk personnel were pleasant except for one individual. I apologize for inconveniencing her. Charged for a river view room but on the second floor all you can see is the A/C units. I stayed for 15 days on business but was not able to get a cup of coffee down stairs due to the coffee stand opening late. In 15 days housekeeping came in once and did not change the linen. If you are working in Decatur, just sacrifice the commute time and stay in another town. read more
