We met Doug in the first week of August to discuss writing our wills. Doug was friendly, asked us the right questions and led us on our way. It took a few weeks, and we had to go back and forth a few times, but we ironed out the final details via email. This was a little slower than I was expecting, but I didn't find it to be egregious. We finalized our wills via email in the middle of September. Today is December 1st, and I have still not heard back from him. My wife has emailed him a dozen times, and I have called him for days leaving messages. In the beginning he would respond saying he was in court, or was having trouble getting witnesses, but as of the last month he's completely ignored our calls and emails. We agreed to provide witnesses, and told him we could meet any day ( I can walk to his office) but heard nothing back. He has gone completely radio silent, to the point that wondered if something had happened to him. I recently saw him in public, which just confirms he has plenty of time for anything that doesn't require helping us finish our wills. I'm not sure why a lawyer would take on a client, write the majority of their will, and then decide to never reach out to that person again. Doug is actively choosing to not get paid for his services by ignoring our calls, when all that is needed is a final signature in front of witnesses. Doug seems like a nice man, but he is clearly too busy to provide simple services like wills. I now have to restart the process of writing my will with a new attorney. All he needs to do is finish it in 3 months and he will have surpassed my expectations after dealing with Doug. read more

Very incompetent my father in law hired him to take care of his wife that has dementia and to get his affairs in order. My father in law signed some papers and while in the process he passed away. Doug Jones was going to go to the courts to change the old will with the new one which he never did. He took papers from the house and the checkbook to pay there Bill's. I find out 3 months later that nothing was paid and had to find out things myself by making random phone calls to gas and electric companies to find out which companies they had. This was the winter so I am grateful they didn't shut them off. When I tried to contact him through phone calls and emails it would be weeks before he will get back to me. Always got the runaround family was sick he was sick he got called into court etc. But had no time in 4 months to do anything or contact me to say he is swamped with work or I cannot handle the job. Very disappointing that somebody would do that to someone who they met and to put there trust in him. read more
