Wanted one w/o meat and she acted like I was ordering something gluten free and nonfat all yuppie style (um, hello, you work in Jackson...anyway, I was not doing an annoying order, just wanted to enjoy a meat free egg burrito is all. She is awful and literally made me leave. I think her response was 'hell no' to me and yeah I enjoy a good swear word every now and then, but with the stack of pre-made burritos in foil tower behind her and notsomuch D.O.G. I love hole in the wall places and their 'not gonna bend over backwards vibe' however; I don't do straight angry beast for workers. And pre-made? What was the guy in the back doing? Bad D.O.G. I'm not proud to say a burrito made me cry. But I'm not ashamed either. My Wyoming & Jackson friends raved about the breakfast burritos at D.O.G. Plus their sign says "world-famous breakfast burritos," so I was happy grab one on our way out of town, for the looooong highway of emptiness that is Wyo. A hearty hangover burrito seemed critical to the success of driving that stretch. I ordered a veggie burrito with mild salsa, but when my post-party stomach felt prepared to handle it, I discovered, slowly and sadly, bite by bite, that there was no salsa in my breakfast burrito. There were however, exactly two tiny pieces of tomatoes. Yes, I counted. Not sure if those sad soggy tomato bits were supposed to be the "salsa" or the "vegetables." One for each, I guess. Because there were no vegetables either. I guess I am from Boulder, and maybe I'm spoiled by Illegal Pete's humongous, heavenly veggie burrito bomb. But I didn't know that at DOG, "veggie burrito" means "meatless burrito with only hashbrowns, a one bite of scrambled egg, no salsa, and no vegetables. HA!" Reminds me of ordering a veggie burger at Larkburger and receiving lettuce on a bun. Nothing says "fuck you, paying customer" like a menu that lies to you, and food that mocks you. Two places I will never go back. The only reason I kept eating the burrito was because I kept expecting it to get better. It sadly did not. It was just hash browns, a tiny bit of scrambled egg, and an excess of flour tortilla. No vegetables, no salsa, no flavor at all. I wanted to throw that burrito out the window. I did my best to choke back my tears. But my hungry hungover stomach wanted, no--needed--- a breakfast burrito. It did not get a burrito. It got a lie. That stupid burrito made me cry, damn it. Have since tried to get a burrito two more times. I won't bother again. We get it mountain dudes and dudettes your way cooler than everyone. The last time they couldn't even be bothered to even take our order, at least the nice young lady was honest enough to actually tell us she really couldn't be bothered. The sad thing was my wife and I where really excited to have found someplace that was good and easy for breakfast. Just wish I could be cool enough for them but hey Jackson Hole has a lot of options. I'm confused. Yelp led us here, but later my roiling innards forced me to return to the pit toilets at the top of the tram more times that I would like. I like that the place is casual, affordable, and clearly popular with the locals. Almost to the point that if you're not local, you're kinda wasting their time. I get that the whole 'tude to non locals is standard issue pretty much everywhere, but come on, it's not like we're assholes just because we don't live here, we still choose to patronize your business, which means money in your pocket. I love when the outside counters are covered in mystery sauce that if you set anything down it gets gooe'd. Could be bbq sauce, could be days old ketchup, I get it, you're too busy tolerating non locals to wipe down the surfaces where people eat their food. We came here for breakfast, using the yelp app on my phone. got the kaiser breakfast sandwich. It was tasty, fried eggs, a slice of yellow cheese and a slice of pepper jack, and a few tomato bits on a giant hunka hunka bun. Other sandwiches clearly stated that pepper jack would be applied, but not on the kaiser. Fine, whatever, they don't have to list all the ingredients in a detailed fashion for all the freaky deaky tourists that can't handle a little spice in the morning. I'm just saying, if you prefer not to have pepper jack cheese on your breakfast'wich, you are duly advised by me. Not by D.O.G. Service was... um, sulry slacker don't bother me vibe. Food was good in a gut bomb kind of way. So all said and done, it's a good deal considering the neighborhood. It's mostly grab 'n go pre-ski (or post-booze) chow. This place is appropriately named as you are pretty much treated like one when eating here. Food was mediocre at best. Music was blaring, had to yell at my dining companion to converse. Girl at counter was rude and nasty language. read more

Hands down this is the best breakfast burrito you will find anywhere. I haven't had anything other than the burrito, and I probably wouldn't! The place is truly a hole in the wall. They make a mean burrito, period! I'm not sure what the magic ingredients are, but they are all finely diced and fried on a griddle until crispy and then folded into a fresh tortilla (I'm guessing eggs, peppers, onions, potatoes, bacon, ham, cheese etc). The choices are veggie or meat and they can be prepared mild or spicy. They open at 6:00am so this is the perfect place to start before a long hard day of playing in the Tetons! read more

Big disappointment! I love breakfast burritos. This one was marginal and basically meatless. So were the others in our group. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait. It ended up being more like 50 minutes. People who came 15 minutes after us got served before us. When we asked why, they said it did not happen. Employee taking the order was friendly. Tables had dried food on them which had been there a while. Avoid unless you have lots of time to kill waiting for below average food. read more

Average burrito with a very dry tortilla. Got there around 9:30 and was told it would be a 30 min wait which we were okay with turned into a hour at best wait with people who ordered 20 min after us getting served 10 minutes before us. Do your self a favor call and order before hand and be sure to give them an extra 15 to 20 min longer than they estimate. If you like a meaty burrito don't go here very little meat in the jackson classic which should have a mix of sausage/ham/bacon. No flavor and they aren't great at accommodating special requests (allergies) asked for no tomatoes and I guess that added a lot of time to our wait. read more

DOG is the coolest place in Jackson. My dad and I couldn't decide what we wanted for dinner so we told chef Fat Dan to make us up something special. He made us delicious "Sausalito Turkey" sandwiches. They were truly fabulous. If the melt-in-your-mouth sandwiches weren't enough, the Nas playing in the background solidified the restaurant's 5-stars. Fat Dan is going places, so watch out world. read more

Do yourself a favor and just get the gyro. It's a great place for lunch and definitely affordable compared to most places around town. Going to try their breakfast burrito next. I had a regular breakfast burrito, spicy, for $7. It tasted good and was spicy without being overpowering. This is a carry out mainly, with some tables outside. It would have been a nice place to sit and eat except for the rap music. I had to endure it for 10 minutes while waiting for my burrito and that was enough, so I took it to go. Ate at DOG about 6 times last time I visited Jackson. The Food was incredible and Dan, the owner was the best. My favorite, the Turkey Cheesesteaze BBQ style. Best sandwich I've ever eaten hands down. Incredible. It's slow roasted turkey with melted cheddar cheese, grilled onions, bbq sauce and topped with this coleslaw that is soooo good and I'm not a coleslaw person. So when you bite into it, you get the warm turkey cheezy melt with the flavor of the bbq sauce, sweetness of the onions and a little tang from the coleslaw. Heaven. On another visit, I ordered the Grilled Cheese with cheddar, pepperjack, bacon, lettuce, tomato and guacamole on the same roll they serve the turkey cheesesteaze on and it was awesome too. Most commonly gone to for the breakfast burrito. Mild vs spicy means jalapeños or not so don't get excited about salsa (this comment is responsive to previous ratings complaints). They don't mislead you-if you read the menu it doesn't say salsa. My experience with the staff seems to be hit or miss-sometimes they are nice and sometimes you get a whole lot of attitude. read more

Simply the best grilled cheese sandwich I've ever had, including my own. I fell off my quasi-vegetarian wagon and had bacon added to it. I think my eyes rolled up into my skull so hard it may have been audible to others. Cheddar, jalapeno jack, and lots of thick bacon. My friend had the gyro and loved it also. Echoing others on the vibe of the place. Sitting outside on a sunny day, listening to hip-hop in a town like Jackson while the stuffy tourist types walked by was awesome. read more

Let's not build this up to be something bigger than it is. They have good burritos, pre-made, and ready to eat. That's it. Decent food on the go; certainly is better than my usual fast food stops. BOMB breakfast burritos. Seriously, one of the best I've ever had. I went here for breakfast one morning while staying in Jackson Hole. Getting a table was easy and I waited about 20-30 minutes for my food. Well worth it! I didnt mind sitting in the sunshine while waiting for a delicious burrito. Best vege burger of my life! I hate the places that charge you full price and then just warm up a boca burger from Costco. Not these guys, it was a fresh awesome vegetable patty with grilled onion, lettuce, the works on a warmed bun. Great lunch.
