They stock all of your typical convenience store goods; milk, eggs, bread, cereal and so on. It comes in handy when I'm on my way into the Jewellery Quarter and need to pick up something on the go. The cafe isn't one that I would choose to go to - Rosella's a bit of a weird amalgamation of services that leaves it all a bit substandard. Anyway it fulfils it's purpose of being a convenience store, as does the cafe - so perhaps the cafe is best described as more of a convenience cafe. It's not the most extraordinary of establishment that you'll ever visit (in case you were expecting that) - but it's prototypical, reliable convenience store to get a mars bar and a pint of milk when passing by or in your slippers.

In…read morefact, many times I've walked past this shop in the middle of George Street, underneath a big block of flats and it appears closed. It doesn't open till 9am, however, it is very handy to have something close by if I run out. We've been in their for supplies to ease of a cold as well as basics such as eggs and bread when we've been caught short. Service is always good. They also have dry cleaning from here now and it's a point to collect post if you're out during the day. There is a cafe in there and I'm not sure if the attached pizza take away is ever open but I may find out one day!

Inside, the linoleum floor is all cracked and broken and the store's dusty shelves look as if they've seen better days, yet fresh fruits and vegetables are all well-priced, the store's stock is impressive considering its size and though this may not be the cleanest convenience store in Great Barr, it definitely benefits from friendlier staff. Whenever I visit, the owner is always welcoming and polite, and never hassles me if I'm just going in for a browse.

It's a large shop with plenty of space inside, the produce is kept on wide clean shelves and always looks fresh and attractive. Baskets and bags are plentiful and it's up to you to help yourself to what you need, there is a set of hanging scales in the shop for you to check the approximate weight of your purchase so it's easy to keep track of your bill. The fruit is laid out on one side of the shop and the veg is on the other side, separating these two sections are a few shelves of tinned items and other groceries. The main onus is, however, on the fruit and veg. There are a good selection of apple and pear varieties, the Granny Smith apples are deliciously crisp and flavoursome from here. There are fresh, ripe bananas in here and they are lovely and much cheaper than those in Asda up the road. You can buy a whole melon, or half a one wrapped in clingfilm. I like that the halves are half the price of a full melon, because another grocer I use cheekily charges almost as much for the half melon! These are extremely fresh and juicy, I love the watermelon slices although should really buy a full one as I am always up and down to this grocer for more and more melon! You can also buy grapes, strawberries, kiwi fruits, nectarines, clementines etc because this grocer stocks produce that is in season he manages to keep the prices down. The veg are equally good, the baking potatoes are excellent and always come out fluffy and delicious after cooking. The baby new potatoes are lovely too, especially with a knob of butter melted over them. I make my own vegetable soup so buy a lot of leeks, carrots, onions and tomatoes from here and have never had bad vegetable. The leeks in particular are great and always seem cleaner with less grit than I find in other local grocers. There are also parsnips, swede, salad veggies (or are they fruit???), beetroots and loads more to choose from - the only thing I wish they would stock that they don't are butternut squash because I always have to go to Asda for these! You can also buy flowers from this grocer, bunches from £2.99 up to more elaborate displays priced at up to £10. They also sell some beautiful house plants which are reasonably priced and very healthy, I have bought several plants from here which are still going strong a few years later. Staff are really nice and friendly, it's not the sort of shop where you are going to have a chat with the staff but they are helpful and cheerful as they are serving. If I can't find something in the shop, which is rare as the shop is so straightforward, I don't hesitate to ask and the staff know straight away what I'm talking about and can advise me on if they stock it and where it is.

Inside i think they could have made use of another floor for the customers to shop on as it does look overly spacious from floor to the ceiling. They have a free large parking area and trolleys there to in there specific designations. They have many helpful staffs too. They also employ security staffs which is unprecedented for. Groceries are also reasonably priced.

They sell different types of chapatti flours and accessories to learn how to make the asian food. They sell alot of asian drinks and beers. There are a few located in Birmingham, this one is not the biggest but has necessaries. They are usually busy and fresh meat and milk do get cheaper before they close because they will go out of date. They dont have a reward system like other supermarkets like Sainsbury but they are generally cheap and the things in here are authentic and are really nice. They dont have a rating of how spicy they are unlike sainsburys though but recommended.

The offers at the end of the aisles in Morrisons are always worth looking at, and the fresh fruit and meat in this shop dont dissappoint. The stuff isn't always top quality, but as you're handpicking everything yourself this is usually fine. Inside they have pretty much every Indian spice that you could ask for, along with all of the essential groceries. Not a place to do your weekly shop but it's good enough to draw me out of the city to get my fresh produce at bargain prices. Guyscliffe BP petrol station now has a Simply Food instead of a standard shop. It's not very big…read moreand sells an unusual range of products - for example, a good range of granary and seeded bread but hardly any white - but on the plus side is open 24 hours. The store sells mainly M&S food but also other brands so, for example, the biscuit display has M&S biscuits with a few packs of McVities added. No Nectar points are given on M&S purchases, which is disappointing, and Warwick has just gained a fully fledged Simply Food in the town centre. However, for an emergency purchase or food on the go, it's a great resource. Make sure you park in a parking space though (opposite the store behind the petrol pumps) and be warned, there's usually a Policy ANPR van sitting in the car park scanning passing traffic so not the place to go if you don't have an MOT or insurance.
