We have been going religiously every Sunday and have taken friends and family to it. Pastor Josh has a passionate way to deliver the message every time and make you reflect on your own life. Definitely recommend this church.

He gives a good…read morehomily and bases all of his homily on scripture and on our real relationship with Jesus Christ, not just saying prayers but praying to him from the heart. He recommends these wonderful changes that a lot of Catholics don't know about. The other priests are OK, but they don't touch me like father john does, ha ha not physically but spiritually. Another thing about the new priest father Sam is that he doesn't like Dogs I don't trust anybody that doesn't like dogs

Truthfully, he is the only one i connect with. I like Father Sam's homilies, but for me it's overall Father John. The way he puts things into prospective with life situations and bible verse, I love it. If only all of them do homilies like him, I will be in cloud 9 all the time. Sometimes I tune in to EWTN when i can't go to in person church and St. Raymond. And EWTN also gives good homilies. I miss the choir............the original choir with Jeannette but I know it will never go back to before. I guess i have to move on to not reminiscing of the past but i can't help it when i am at church. I highly recommend St. Raymond to attend Sunday mass in Downey.

While grieving, planning her funeral, and caring for my injured father, we were shocked to learn that the church charges $1,200 for a funeral service. My mom was a devoted Catholic who attended daily Mass for years. It's heartbreaking that, during one of the worst moments of our lives, there was so little compassion or flexibility. I understand churches have expenses, but this felt excessive and added unnecessary stress to an already devastating time. I hope they reconsider how they support families experiencing tragedy.

They lost my sister's baptism records/files and still had her do her first communion giving us hope…read morethat maybe she can still do her communion at the end telling us No she can't do it because they don't believe us that she got baptized, why have her finish her class then? we bought her everything already & even catered food for later... sorry but church's need to keep everyone's files just in case the families copies gets ruined by an accident. it's not my sisters fault our copy got ruined by an accident now she has to get baptized again. no help at all.

This parish does not seem to actually care about its parishioners or their needs. I needed a form…read morefilled out for candidacy to become a godparent. It clearly is asking for the parish to confirm that I am a current parishioner - nothing more, nothing less. I attend Mass here and my daughter attends the parish school and has attended the school for 3 years now. Well I went to the office and tried to ask to have the form filled out. The office manager didn't even come out to greet me or even look over the form. Instead I just received a nope we don't do that here and that the father doesn't allow us to fill out forms from other parishes and then a real sarcastic sorry via intercom. I'm lost as to what to do now because this is (well I'm clearly rethinking things now) the church I go to. I'm very disheartened.

Spanish and English. Potluck second Sabbath of each month and a constant rotation of activities. They have a food pantry, which is A great way to give back to the community for whoever needs. Today I'm here for the blood bank. If you know anything about me, you know that I love sharing my health . So cool to see the whole church doing all that they can to make this blood drive go smoothly. This is really all the things I wanna see from a church take action get involved. Churches are sanctuary and it feels like that here ...a safe place spreading the good word . It was fun and was a great place to spend my Sabbath .

I happened upon this Church while visiting a aunt in Whittier. I chose it because of it's…read moreconvenient daily Mass schedule. Convenience turned into an incredible blessing. The priests at this Church are great; however, I didn't get to talk to them as much as the parishioners. I met some of the most amazing people here! From random strangers giving me great advice to friends I'll cherish to eternity! My heart was changed by this encounter and the people I was blessed to meet. People I could share my faith with and our understanding and joy clicked-right away! I was so excited to have found these beautiful friends, that I actually became sad when it was time go back home. The truth is that God has blessings waiting for you wherever He is. So definitely go find Him! Our Lady of Perpetual Help became a help when I needed it as a great place for meditation, spiritual nourishment, worship of God, and finding friends that share your love for Christ! An AMAZING gift!
