The food is good and the bacon is exceptional. Their failure is to butter their toast, even when asked. By the time the toast arrives at the table it is tot warm enough to melt the butter into the bread. When I go out to a restaurant I expect it to be ready-to-eat. First time visiting - was sat right away inside around 1pm. Our server came over quickly and took our order, he was friendly. The inside was clean and it was pretty busy but cleared out as we ate our meal. My friend got an item off the breakfast menu and I got the Philly cheese steak in the pancake. It was an interesting combo, definitely more greasy than I was expecting and they used a weird cheese on top - not sure I'd order it again. Our server seemed to disappear and it took a while for us to get our check, even after I made eye contact trying to get him to come over. It's super cool inside, with fun decor, great views of downtown Celebration and the water, and the patio is nice as well. Amazing location right in the center of town. The bacon could have been cooked more to my liking, and the skillet felt like it was missing something--maybe some peppers or onions to elevate the flavor. For the price, I expected a dish that stood out more, especially since I feel I could recreate it better at home. One thing that could be improved is the coffee service. Refills took longer than I'm used to, especially for a breakfast spot where warm coffee tends to flow more consistently. We were meeting my mom for brunch and this was a good halfway point. It's conveniently located in downtown Celebration close to I-4 and 192. We arrived at 11:30 on a Saturday and were told there would be a 20 minute wait for a table of four. They take your phone number and text you when the table is ready. After only a few minutes, I received a text that there was a table open. We were seated outside which I normally don't like, but it was about 80° and we were in a shaded area so it was fine. There was a nice view of some water across the street and plenty of people walking by. The patio area is dog friendly. I ordered the veggie omelette with home fries, and English muffin. My omelette was really good, but I forgot to ask them to not put onions so there was a ton of onions in there I had to pick out. Luckily they were in a long strings so it was easy. my husband ordered the breakfast baby, which is a Dutch baby pancake with three eggs, ham, cheese, and country gravy. He had heard of Dutch babies from me but they're not normally on a menu so he wanted to try it. He liked it, but it was huge so he didn't even eat half of it. He said the bloody Mary's were good. Especially that strip of bacon they put in there. The bacon in his second drink was about half the size though. Parking is a little tricky in this area, especially if you don't like to parallel park. I parked about two blocks away, but the weather was really nice so it was fine. All the staff was really friendly and fast. Our waitress told us when we arrived that there was a party of 35 people inside so it might take a while for our order. It really didn't though. I will say the bathroom needed to be cleaned. They probably didn't have anyone checking on that. read more

When I finally placed my order, the server sighed audibly, rushed me through my choices, and responded to simple questions with curt, borderline rude answers. It felt less like a diner and more like I was interrupting their day. The food only made things worse. For a place that markets itself as a classic diner with "hearty portions," the servings were shockingly small. My main dish arrived on a large plate that made the portion look even more disappointing--barely enough to qualify as a light snack, let alone a full meal. The side that was supposed to come with it was laughably tiny, as if it had been measured out with the goal of giving as little as possible. Considering the prices, the proportions were completely unreasonable and nowhere near worth what I paid. When I politely asked if the portion size was standard, the response I got was dismissive and defensive. Instead of offering an explanation or solution, the staff member implied that I was the problem for expecting more. That attitude alone guaranteed I wouldn't be returning. Overall, this diner failed on the two things it should do best: friendly service and satisfying food. I went during the farmers market and it was a busy day for them but they still had smiles on their faces and were in good spirits. Adam was great and very nice. I was in town to volunteer at GKTW Village and decided to try this place for breakfast before my shift. Like everything else in the town of Celebration, the Diner is adorable. They offer indoor, counter, and outdoor seating. I opted for the indoor seating in order to get more pictures for my review. I am so glad I did because the indoor seating is so cute. The menu has many breakfast options, including eggs, pancakes, omelets, breakfast sandwiches, and even breakfast pizzas. I went with an old standard, a vegetable and cheese omelet. Front desk staff and our waitress were friendly and professional, we had a stroller with us and they stored it in the back for us while we ate. The AC was broken the day we went and it was very humid. I am not sure if that had anything to do with why our food wasn't as good as we would have liked. The French toast and egg platter came out cold and the chicken from the chicken and waffle plate was under seasoned and over cooked. It was very dry and really hard. I'm from NJ which is known for its diners. My boyfriend and I were exploring the celebration area and I was super excited to see a diner since it's not as common to find here in the Orlando area. I order a chocolate milkshake. They were out of whipped cream which was okay for me. The milkshake was a standard shake in my opinion. I've had better. I was excited to try the chicken and waffles but out of five stars I would rate it a 3. Waffles were flat and had no fluff to them. Chicken was great though! The home fries were a 5 out of 5. What a super fun diner in Celebration! I'm not much for theming, but somehow it worked here. Maybe it was because it was dumping rain and a 50's diner made things seem cheerful and welcoming. Our breakfast special was just what we needed on a day when we'd been dumped on from a rain storm. They even had Tabasco to spice up our eggs and plenty of hot coffee with no pressure to clear our table and get out. The menu has great options for even picky eaters, and I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered here. The Downtown Diner is a little on the pricy side for the type of American food they offer, but kind of expected for this affluent area. A local diner serving the Celebration community. Our service was good, the food came out quickly. We came for breakfast just before 11am. Most tables were filled but they had one for us. There's outdoor dining available and also counter service if you come alone. It looks cool. Best over easy eggs I've had in a long time on my "south of the border " entree.
