My friends and I came here on a Friday afternoon. I ordered an iced vanilla rose rooibos tea with milk and vanilla cold foam. It was delicious and refreshing. The cafe is right next to a boutique, so you can do some shopping before or after getting your coffee. read more

Service was great, the baristas were all kind and drinks were being served quickly. I started with a drip dark roast that I drank while I read a book. It was flavorful and not acidic. I got a refill of light roast and took it to go, it was also delicious. The music was nice with a mix of coffee house classics and popular hits like Bad Bunny. Not too loud and I was able to focus on reading. The only downside is that the rim of my cup absorbed the coffee and began to drip past the lid as I walked home. Not a big deal but if you are taking it to go and wearing white, watch out lol read more

First thing to note is that the coffee shop is within a boutique store. The store has lovely items, so I do plan to visit again when I have more time to actually try things on. I'm so confused by the high ratings because the coffee is a 2 or 2.5 at best... Not my favorite. I had the salted caramel latte. The coffee flavor was less than impressive and the caramel had some sort grit to it. Overall, friendly service, bright and airy inside, with lots of stylish things to look at and possibly even purchase, but a waste of coffee as I tossed mine. A cold December morning in Memphis (a native Chicagoan would have called it brisk), sent me on a search for a coffee that would make me miss my wife and newborn son a little less; it would not just perk me up, but also provide the warmth I was longing for from my better half and put a smile on my financial advisors face. As I walked away from a place where dreams were assassinated, I found myself on a street less than ordinary. The establishment I was in search of would have been missed if it wasn't for my GPS yelling at me that I had arrived. The only sign was on the sidewalk and could easily be missed if a car were strategically parked in front of it. The storefront was unassuming and I thought I was in the wrong place, but when I opened the door, I noticed the counter inside a large clothing boutique. Her smile and greeting started to fight the cold that wanted to stick to me. Sadie (I hope it was the common spelling) was her name. I looked over the menu on the counter, which she proudly said she creates herself and wanted to order everything, but I asked for something that would make me feel...Mmmm, and I hugged myself. A couple questions and suggestions later I decided on the 'Campfire'. It checked all the boxes. Why would anyone choose Novadollars over this place? Sadie was like someone you would read about in a magical fiction, mixing just the right amount of warmth, care, and kindness into something that was sold as coffee. Dr. Bean's is a cool little coffee spot in the South Main area. The layout is part of a larger local clothing store, so if you show up early in the morning the half belonging to the store may be closed. Their cappuccino did not disappoint. However, they currently offer a turmeric and ginger tea which is outstanding! I had it iced on a warm summer morning and it just hit the spot. It's not sweet, but the flavor profile doesn't need it--although you could add sugar. Service was great. Worth the stop! read more

Definitely a unique setting as the coffeeshop shares the floor with a another store that sales gifts, artwork and home decor, and a hair salon on the second floor. Their coffees & teas are very good, however they serve them lukewarm, which for me is a major turnoff when it comes to hot beverages. I tried an Earl Grey, made with loose tea leafs, very good, but not nearly as hot as it should be. The same can be said of their latte. Great potential, they just need some fine tuning. read more

If you want good smooth espresso coffee this is the place. I got myself a salted caramel latte and I can definitely taste the espresso. I'm not often downtown so I knew I wanted to try a new coffee shop while down there for an appointment. Dr. Bean's had a lot of great Yelp reviews and it didn't steer me wrong. I ordered the seasonal Biscoff latte with oatmilk from a very friendly barista and it was smooth and delicious. The cups are on the smaller side which I'm guessing is due to the location's influence, but I still plan to return later this year to try their Campfire and Cafe Con Miel lattes. Great coffee - PERIOD. Very happy that they have moved and able to be open 6-7 days a week. I will admit the previous few months (covid) and schedule have made them elusive at times. With that said, simply the best espresso in the city and the staff is always friendly and patient. Go to Doctor Beans!  5 star drinks, 5 star service, 5 star atmosphere!  Quality coffee roasts translate to rich, flavorful drinks.  The seasonal elderberry cappuccino was delicious and was a barista recommendation.   She was super welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely wanted us to enjoy our experience there.  The tea options are EXTENSIVE.  We had the white peony tea (soooo good) and we look forward to working our way through more teas. Again the barista helped educate us on some of the teas and she made a perfect recommendation.   The atmosphere is great, the kind of coffee shop you want to linger in AND it's located inside Stock and Belle boutique for some upscale shopping for both men and women. read more

While traveling, was looking for a different place not so visible from the street, saw this place and wish I hadn't. First time in a long time I threw my coffee out. What a waste of time and energy. Wife's Americana: taste like water with syrup My latte, or whatever it was: froth and water with a lot of syrup. I gave them two stars because they were easy to find and the lady was at least nice just obviously not trained in making coffee or does any drink coffee herself. My suggestion, find one of the other places and if your phone is dying just stop here to plug in and find the next place. read more
