Amazing vet. We love Dr. Jack and she took care of both our pups as if they were her own. Highly recommended. Plus your animal will LOVE not having to go to a vet's office. They are so much more relaxed with in-home care. In the case of our dog Gabon, Dr. Jack noticed some VERY subtle signs and caught her cancer (TCC) so early that we were able to do aggressive treatment and extend her life over 26 months.

Dr. Jack has been taking care of my kitties for the past year and a half. She was with me from when Felix was diagnosed with kidney disease. She went above and beyond to be there for us throughout his care and when we needed to say goodbye. I couldn't recommend her practice enough.

Chilling after thr Dr Jack visit.

Where has Dr J been all my life? Got an appt very quickly. Very caring. Her nurses are awesome too. Not having to drag your kids out is such a relief and time saver. She is worth every penny. Mimi and Booboo love Dr. J.

Forcing a surgery on my dog. Against my will We needed to get my dogs shots updated so we can get his nails done at Petco That's the only reason we went to the Valley to get shots in the first place. There was nothing wrong with my dog. He was completely healthy and happy dog. We went to the Valley to Reseda pet care They took my dog to the back and he came back to weigh him and our poor dog came back with the ear hematoma. Came to Shane Veterinary in Marina to have the hematoma fixed they forced me into dental surgery, which on the day of surgery, I begged them not to do but they did despite knowing that they didn't have my consent Shane Vet and they forced the dental surgery on my 12 1/2 year-old American pitbull terrier who has been my love and my family's emotional support for the last 12 1/2 years, since my 1'st born Son was killed in the Pacific Palisades on June 13, 2013 De Atley, cried with me, showed me a tattoo on her arm of a cat that she claims she loves more than her own children. We trusted her. She promised me 15 minutes, not a second more she will go and get the hematoma out put a drain in and close. I have it on paper. She gave it to me with the statement for the surgery along with a dental surgery, which I opted out of. When I came to pick up my dog, they wouldn't give them to me until well after five or 6 o'clock in the afternoon and claim that they prolonged my dog life, but instead they cut my dog life so short that we have to put him down. My dog is not suffering with a ruptured spleen that the pressure of the surgery caused She kept my dog under for too long. My dog was too old. I told them to keep the money for that teeth, but don't do it please but they did it anyway I've been reading the reviews here on Yelp and I see that they've done this to many other people My attorneys or I, will be contacting whoever is interested to file a class action against this veterinary office, and hope to close them down legally. As they do nothing but butcher animals, and destroy lives for money I told them they can keep the $800 for the teeth just please don't do the procedure. They still did it! I felt like I'm in the Afghanistan somewhere with no laws De Atley promised 15 minutes. On paper. So that my dog did not have to be on prolonged medicines She lied, because when we went to take out the drain and stitches. She yelled and screamed and said he has to be on medication for the rest of his life! Why? There was nothing wrong with my dog. Why did they do this to people? I gave them "Legal Notice" That I will be going to 1725 Main St. To Santa Monica Superior Court, to file a lawsuit against them for what they did against my will to my dog. Further we will be filing a class action to prevent Shane Veterinary from hurting any more animals and stop them from doing what they have done to my family and most of you here. God Bless all our Beautiful Angels' Souls in Heaven together I promise on my forever 15 years old Angels' my Beloved Son's grave I will ask a Judicial Officer to legally stop Shane Veterinary Hospital. To stop refrain and desist from injuring, and or cause death to any other animals and to help us stop them from hurting peoples animals who are like family member Shane Veterinary Hospital butchers, need to find a new way to make money instead of killing our cats and dogs. Do not take your animals to Shane Veterinary Hospital. It's a butchery. My dog is on his deathbed now, with almost a dozen pills a day now since De Atley, waiting to be put to sleep My Family is devastated Do not go to Shane Veterinary, will kill or cause the death of your animals. Please feel free to contact me. regarding the class action against Shane Veterinary at 4816 Lincoln Blvd.

This place stood out with a shimmering, radiant contrast from our very first contact of making an appointment. They were so helpful and accommodating!! Plus, the place itself is gorgeous. But the real standouts were the extraordinary cohesion and teamwork of the staff. The luminous Zaria!!, Narally, Kimberly and WOOOT for the best vet tech that perhaps has ever possibly existed: Eric-- wow he was just superlative(!) I hope to the heavens that all of these staff are given raises and promotions so that they are incentivized to stay on-- because they were the heart of why this experience was so completely wonderful. We, and most of all Luna, are so incredibly grateful for their centered, calm, on-the-ball, baddy leadership. The help they gave, provided such a simple solution to almost a decade of skin dermatitis ongoing hell. And now Luna has the most healthy sheen of fur she has ever had since we adopted her off of death row. Thank you VCA MDR for bringing such peace and healing to this angel. I say thankfully because another coupon for a Veterinarians Association in Southern California had only one vet in my general area. I had never been to this VCA and typically think of VCAs as rather expensive so I've avoided them. We got there 15 mins before our appointment at 9:30. We didn't get in to see the vet until 9:50 which I didn't love. They did have specialty coffee cups and hot chocolate options in the lobby which was nice. The waiting room and a very airy, sunny waiting room. Their behind the counter staff (I worked with Benin in the exam room) was very nice and treated us with respect. Dr. Adele Thornbury was very nice and offered me an effective flea medicine, Simparica, that was a bit less expensive than my old flea medicine. She explained some options I had for narrowing down some allergies my dog seemed to have. I appreciated that. I didn't feel rushed while in the exam room and recognize that THAT may have been the reason I had to wait so long. They take their time with each fur person. My dog and I are happy and will be going back again.

This time we called and they said they could handle the issue, so we called today to make an appointment and they will not see us--I guess they don't like the truth. Now they have ever right to not like a review and instead of responding to it, to just try to erase that person, but that is rude and not wise. And they were so rude on the phone. We were shocked. They could have been decent and nicely said we did not care for your 3 stars on Yelp so we think it best not to see you. We would have said thank you and been on our way. So, they have no need to worry. We will never call them again, because I don't enjoy rude customer service and I really don't enjoy sure make an appointment and we call to do just that and someone answers who has no manners and is rude. I called veterinary hospitals everywhere--from the San Fernando Valley all the way to Riverside--but I couldn't find anyone who could see her on an emergency basis. I was incredibly fortunate to contact Green Dog Dental, where I already had an appointment scheduled nine days later. Knowing that my cat, Marley, was rapidly deteriorating, I explained the situation to their staff. They were kind enough to reach out to their internal medicine specialist, Dr. Geist, who immediately agreed to see her as long as I was willing to drive to their Venice location. The very next day, we were there. The Venice facility is beautiful, peaceful, and welcoming. Dr. Geist had already reviewed the medical records I had emailed ahead of time, and he took the time to perform a thorough examination and discuss Marley's condition with me. Dr. Geist was incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate, and thoughtful in the way he cared for both Marley and me. Although our outcome was heartbreaking and I ultimately had to make the painful decision to let Marley go, I will always be grateful for the kindness, honesty, and dignity with which he guided us through one of the hardest moments of my life. I also want to thank his entire team for the exceptional care and compassion they showed us. While their services are on the pricier side, they were the only practice willing to see my baby when no one else could. For that alone, they were worth every penny. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Geist and his team to anyone looking for exceptional veterinary care.

I wish I had been warned. If there is anything I can do to spare another dog from what my dog went…read morethrough, I feel I have to say something. My dog underwent dental surgery involving multiple extractions at Green Dog WITHOUT being placed under GENERAL ANESTHESIA or being intubated, & after years of regular cleanings there, a board-certified veterinary dentist found serious, long-standing & painful dental problems Green Dog had not clearly identified or escalated. My experiences have felt like negligent oversight & serious failures in clinical judgment, dental monitoring, communication, & continuity of care, all within a system that ultimately felt like a mill For years, I brought my dog to Green Dog because I wanted to stay ahead of his dental disease. Like many pet parents, I believed non-anesthetic dental cleanings were a responsible, safer, lower-risk way to care for his mouth. I brought him in when I was told to bring him -- every six months to a year -- and I also brushed and flossed his teeth at home. I thought I was doing everything right. Early in our time there, Green Dog told me he needed dental surgery. I trusted their judgment, and he had multiple teeth extracted, including incisors and molars. I recently learned he had not been placed under general anesthesia for that surgery. Except in the rarest medical circumstances, dental extractions in dogs are done under general anesthesia and with intubation; it is the baseline assumption for surgery involving tooth removal, not something a normal client would think to ask about. A consent form listing drug names is not the same as clearly explaining that multiple teeth will be extracted using Green Dog's own injectable "cocktail" instead of standard general anesthesia, and I had no reason to decode a drug list or imagine they would use anything other than the standard humane approach. At the time, had Green Dog clearly explained that they believed this cocktail rendered dogs unconscious while supposedly being safer than general anesthesia, I may well have believed them because I was afraid of general anesthesia too. But after my dog came home traumatized, after extensive research, consulting with other doctors and dental specialists, hearing other people's experiences, and seeing Yelp reviews from other owners describing dogs who also came home traumatized after procedures there, my view changed completely. Based on what happened to my dog, I do not feel confident that this approach was the most humane or safest option for him, and in my opinion it raises serious concerns about whether it is humane. The experience at Green Dog often felt like a mill. After dental cleanings, I often got only a couple of minutes with a doctor, and sometimes felt I had to push even to get that. There was no sense of a meaningful doctor-patient relationship, no sense that anyone was pausing to look at my dog as a whole patient, connect his mouth to broader health issues, or consider how his overall condition might affect the safest plan for future dental surgery. After that surgery, he came home changed. He became afraid of clicking sounds, like the stove turning on or dishes/tools tapping against the counter. He became afraid things would fall on him. He became more fearful in general. That change has lasted for years. Even after that, I continued bringing him to Green Dog for regular dental cleanings, still believing I was protecting him. For at least a year and a half, the roots of some of his top front incisors were showing significantly, even while Green Dog was doing those cleanings, and they never told me it was a problem. Eventually, one of his teeth fell out of his mouth. When I finally went to a board-certified veterinary dentist, they caught what Green Dog had not clearly identified or escalated: two teeth had holes reaching toward the roots that had clearly been there for over a year, there was pus above the tooth that fell out, there was significant visible root exposure/gum recession, there was a fistula I was never taught how to properly clean, and multiple additional teeth ultimately had to be extracted -- all of which are painful conditions for any dog to live with. There were also record issues that made me lose confidence. On more than one occasion, his chart listed weights that were drastically inaccurate -- off by several pounds for a roughly 13-pound dog. When I questioned this, I was told maybe he had been moving around. In my opinion, that explanation was ridiculous..... (continued as update)
