The front desk staff are cold and combative. We were on time for our 11:15am appointment and after waiting for 1 hour, the receptionist told us she made our appointment in error. After telling her that was not our fault and we shouldn't be punished, she said we could reschedule for 1:15pm. She also told us the appointments before us arrived late and were still with the doctor. Again, not our fault and we should not have to wait or reschedule. When we explained this was a follow up visit to being hospitalized we asked if we could see another doctor and were rudely told that Dr. Tucker would have to authorize that. When I asked them to do that, they said he was in an appointment and would not interrupt him. That's perfectly understandable, however, we explained to them that my husband's medication prescribed at the hospital was out and he needed a refill that day. They told us they would definitely get the meds refilled that day. When I said "great, let's do that." they said "You will have to see a doctor first." Realizing we were not getting anywhere, my husband decided to go back for the 1:15pm appt. Yet again, he waited OVER AN HOUR before ever seeing the doctor. During the appt, the doctor did not listen to ANYTHING my husband was trying to explain. Instead, he just prescribed meds that my husband has never been on before. After researching these meds, I find out there is a high risk of seizures in adults when taken together. If I could find out that information relatively quickly, you would think a doctor would know this immediately. Of course I had questions for Dr. Tucker regarding the entire appointment. I have left 2 messages for him to call me back, and have yet to hear anything. This practice DOES NOT CARE for the patients. I would highly recommend AGAINST going here for ANY reason, but especially after being discharged from the hospital and actually needing medical assistance. Dr. Tucker doesn't even have the compassion to HELP by returning calls.

I was told that was what my doctor was for a he had me pee in a cup to check for bladder infection which I already told I knew I didn't have. Had to go emergency room for a few months later. One wild guess what the issue is? I'll give you a hint it involves my kidneys.

I have successfully made it through pre-op physical therapy and ACL repair surgery…read more First, I would like to acknowledge that Nurse Judy and I spoke and sometimes it is better to speak up and tell someone how they are making you feel... What your perception of how you have been treated is. Since then, she has been wonderful. Perhaps I was quick to dismiss the fact that she has a life outside of the office and that she may have been going through her own hard times. When I tried the same approach with Dr. Mitchell, it was suggested that I was projecting my anger about my injury onto him. I'm afraid not. I explained that sitting uncomfortably in the waiting room for quite awhile prior to being seen and anticipating more rather rude treatment by him might be the source of my anger. He suggested that sometimes personalities just clash. That I can concur with. Since that appointment, the bedside manner has improved tremendously. The surgery went very well and my first post-op visit today went well. Perhaps personalities do clash... I was shown my prior Yelp review today by Dr. Mitchell. I don't feel like I needed to apologize but I did feel it was rather unprofessional and unnecessary. I do know this- This man knows his stuff. He is a phenomenal surgeon. Today he took time to answer my questions and was very kind. Judy was also very kind. When presented with a situation in which my 13 year old son needed to see an Ortho Guy- I considered taking him elsewhere but I didn't. Maybe Dr. Mitchell and I do not get along well but again, he's damned good at what he does and he was very kind to my son. I'm conflicted... but at the end of the day- I would stick with him as my Orthopedic Surgeon.

I have gone into social work myself since, and had a lot of education on trauma care, and I can tell you this place isn't that. Not that I think you need an advanced degree to know. I've waited quite a while to write this review to make sure I wasn't just harboring something. I did have positive experiences with some people there, mostly a couple of techs that I still regard very highly and the opportunity to connect with other women was great. The clinical work here... so so bad, though. Basically, I watched every client with severe trauma symptoms here be re-traumatized pretty heavily. I was shamed in group settings in ways that I could tell perpetuated harm not just for me, but for other clients with similar experiences. I know a lot of clients I was with relapsed very soon after. I definitely put some of that down to the added shame that was piled on in this environment at a clinical level--woof. (To be fair, from what I have heard seems to be pretty much everywhere in substance treatment in Texas). As a survivor of narcissistic abuse several times over, which was all part of the trauma stories they have you share, I was then repeatedly accused of being a narcissist in group session by a particular therapist. My thinking is that most of this was because I did not act super compliant about the problematic stuff here--and meanwhile had a lot of very positive relationships with other clients. For myself, I was outright told my PTSD wasn't PTSD by my direct therapist. This has been my central diagnosis every other place I have had care. My genuine belief is that because they were so ill-equipped to address it, misdiagnosing me with god knows what was an attempt sidestep their incompetence amongst themselves. I haven't been back to treatment, I will give them that. But I put that down more to my insistence on following my own path that I knew honored my experience and sheer will to never have to be in a state where I could be treated this way again.
