Took my perfectly healthy and beloved dog in for a routine neuter and everything went to hell in a hand basket that afternoon.
My dog was picked up post surgery and in apparent distress with trouble breathing. Brought him home and he was vomiting. Brought him back and the doctor said he'd keep him over the weekend.
I called the doctor each day and was told my dog was a 'little better'. Picked him up Monday morning and he was still in distress. Quickly contacted a friend in Queretaro who referred me to possibly the best vet in all of Mexico and I rushed my dog there. He was critical and had to be placed on life support. She said something happened to him during the neuter. He either fell off the table or stopped breathing and was hit in his chest to start breathing again. He had a huge hematoma and air in his chest cavity that prevented him from breathing. What happened to him we do not know because the truth was never shared with us.
10,000 pesos later and a week of oxygen, X-rays, air extraction from chest cavity and all the right treatment, my dog is now fine.
Dr. Kronish did not forward the X-rays that he took that was requested by the vet in Queretaro nor did he ever contact me or the vet to see how my dog was doing.
He may be a nice guy but he did not cooperate nor try to help other than keep my dog over the weekend. He is not equipped for an emergency and quite possibly cannot recognize one. However, anyone including a professional and a lay person could see that the dog was in a critical state and needed emergency care. read more
