I work in the medical profession. I have moved around a lot over the years so I have seen lots of…read moredoctors and can make some good comparisons. I have been going here for about 6 years so I have seen a few doctors at this practice. I prefer to stick with one when possible but sometimes schedules and urgent issues don't allow that. The doctors (Dr Oh, Dr Khoo, Dr Civitico) I have seen are all very good. They provide thoroughness and consistency that you just don't get at the big commercial chain practices. They do charge above the Medicare fee and ask you to pay the entire fee up front but they do forward the details to Medicare on your behalf for reimbursement directly from medicare for the standard amount. They have an onsite collection centre for HealthScope pathology so you can one stop shop if needed.
Until I actually thought about writing this review I'll be honest and say I never really gave the…read morecalibre of my doctor and her surgery much thought. I mean, she's fantastic and I happily recommend her to people, but can you really get excited about a medical clinic? On reflection though, I found that it's possible to think about your experiences in that place to date and realise you have very little to fault. I see two doctors at this clinic - Dr Trish Civitico and Dr Graeme Edwards. Both are great! Whilst Collins Place does bulk bill, a regular appointment will still need you to pay a certain amount over and above that. After your Medicare rebate, it works out to be about $15. They do however bulk bill vaccinations and the full cost is covered. I started going to CPMC when I worked across the road... and whilst I no longer work there, I still make the trip into the city because the experience here is consistently great... and when you're sick, you want consistency and predictability, right?

Dr Slutzkin is an amazing Doctor, who makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Definitely worth a try if you're looking for a clinic who treat their patients like people, not cattle.
Clifton Hill Medical offers me everything I want in a GP. The waiting area is calm and they even have The Age to read (which is a nice change from other places where having nothing to read by 3-month-old issues of WHO Weekly tend to make you feel worse!). This practice uses electronic health records so you can see any doctor and they have all your background info up there on the screen. If needed, you can call back to get test results and the doctors give you time on the phone. Top-notch - get in their and enjoy the family-oriented service they provide so well!

During by time at the University of Melbourne as a student and as a tutor, I had to go and see a…read moredoctor on 4 or 5 occasions. On each occasion I went to the University of Melbourne Health Services clinic on Cardigan Street. If you take Grattan Street away from the university, you'll then take a right and go up 200m and you'll find it on your left hand side. They provide a drop in service where you can usually be seen the same day. You have to wait for this as it is done on a first come, first serve basis. It pays to come early to minimise your waiting time. I have seen Dr Penn on a number of times and he is really good. I've also seen other doctors and they have all offered impeccable service. Here is the info on how to pay taken from website. Payment info: - Students with a current Medicare card are bulk-billed - Students with OSHC Worldcare are direct billed to the insurance company - Students with other overseas insurance cover pay their fee on attendance and claim the rebate from their insurance provider.
