Solid dim sum restaurant in the Richmond. I've been here multiple times for dim sum and dinner, and I haven't had a bad experience. Do get their baked bbq pork buns, salted egg yolk buns, peking duck, beef chow fun.

A lovely experience. It gets pretty crowded at peak times. Service was ok. Sometimes had difficulty getting their attention. But the food was amazing and worth it. Would recommend and go back. Great lively atmosphere.

Time for another update. Happy CNY. Got here right before the rush! Quality/Quantity - Congrats on still being crazy busy!! Chore day today and I was just too tired to cook lunch. So we walked across the street from my last chore place to here. Never a bad time to get more dim sum, especially good high end dim sum. Well, not as positive as our previous visits. Actually, I feel this brand and all their sister/brother brands are dropping. Are you just getting too big? Today my guest ordered the following, overall all of which were good. Jasmine Jade Dew Tea - $1.95 each. Shrimp Rice Crepe Roll - $11. Mixed Mushrooms Rice Crepe Roll $9.50 - This was my favorite dish! And healthier. Generous portions, generous mushrooms. Abalone E-Fu Noodles $25 - The abalone was smaller than expected. But the overall dish was good. Beef Chow Fun $22 - My guest's favorite! Decent portions. Ambiance - Overall the place still looks the same, so considering the huge volume you have, good job maintaining. It would be nice if you can install more restrooms as there is often a line... Semi open kitchen, see previous pictures. Metered street parking. Service - This is where it was noticeably different. NO service?!?! I had to flag down a team member to take our order, get forks, extra napkins, water (asked two different people), give us our check, to-go boxes, etc..... Price - Expensive, but that is the cost for quality. If only the service reflected the quality. Also a 4% "House Surcharge." Owner Comment - Founder of Koi Palace, Willy Ng, partnered with Jenny Huang to open Dragon Beaux, and it is still a hit!

Solid dim sum spot. Insanely long wait snake sure to make reservations and be on time for it. We were late and had to wait a while before a seat opened. Menu was pretty reasonably priced with presentation and taste being mostly on par. The only disappointment was from the scallion sesame bread. It was a bit dry and dense without much scallion flavor. Food: 8.5/10 Service: 8/10 Ambience: 8/10

Been here a few times now for weekend dim sum with the family and friends. It's usually one of the spots we pick when we want a big table and just catch up. The place gets really busy, so definitely plan ahead and make reservations for weekend brunch. Parking can also be a little hectic since it's mostly street parking around the area and gets very busy. The dim sum here is menu ordering and it's definitely on the pricier side. For me it's kind of hit of miss. Some dishes are really good and you can tell they make things fresh, but some feel a little mediocre especially for the price. The one thing that keeps happening whenever I come here is that a lot of the dim sum comes out lukewarm or sometimes even a little cold. I know it's coming straight from the kitchen and the flavors are there, but it just never seems to arrive hot which takes away from the experience. That being said, it's still a nice spot to hang out with friends and family. The rooms is lively and bustling and the service has always been friendly no matter how busy the place gets. They do a great job keeping your tea topped off and checking in on the table. I just wish the food came out hotter because for the price you kind of expect it to be a little better than average.

Best dim sum in sf! Expect a very long wait for peak dim sum hours (weekend brunch time). Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if possible - this puts you at the top of the list which makes your wait much shorter than if you just show up and put your name down. Service is pretty standard for a super busy dim sum spot. The workers have to be quick to get people in and out as fast as they can; they're kind, but you're not going to get flowery service. Ordering is easy- you mark what you want on the pamphlet and they'll get it from you and have your table marked with all your orders. Plates come out at different times depending on what's available. The food itself is amazing, and I think it's the best dim sum place in sf proper. All the standard dim sum dumplings (har gow, siu mai) are perfectly made. Very flavorful and well crafted. My other favorites are the taro pork puffs and the shrimp crepe rolls. I also really like the chicken feet here, and I don't typically go for chicken feet. Full of meat and juicy, plus easy to eat. Besides the standard plates, we sometimes like ordering original items like the colorful dumplings. All have been great and tasty too. Will always look forward to coming here for dim sum and will continue to take family here. Definitely worth the wait.

I came here with my friends for dinner and we had a great time! The space is incredibly large with lots of tables, perfect for a Sunday dim sum brunch. The servers were also very quick and efficient. We placed our order and the food came out not soon after. Everything we ordered was very good. However, my absolute favorite was the Spinach Siu Mai. It was stuffed so well and super flavorful!! The best siu mai I have ever had. The short ribs were also delicious and crispy. I would definitely come back for these two dishes!

Decided to come here on Valentines day and was glad to make a reservation with the long wait. We were seated quickly and was able to receive our food at a good pace. Since we got a lot of food, I'll keep the review of the food pretty brief. Peking Duck (3.7/5) - The skin of the duck was very crispy. The meat was more fatty than I would want for peking duck. The bun was one of my favorite bun I had for peking duck. The sauce was very unique, with one being the ginger sauce. The pickled onion really tied the whole dish together. Classic Shrimp Dumpling (4/5) - Nothing much to say here. It was pretty solid and standard. The wrapping was more dense than your average Hacao. XLB (3/5) - The soup was a bit on the bland side. The carrot underneath was a surprise to me. The filling and wrapper tasted fine. Egg white and Scallop Fried Rice (4.5/5) - A great dish! Had a nice crunch on top with a great amount of egg and scallop in the dish. Taste great even as a leftover. Chili Wonton (4.3/5) - It is not your typical Wonton from Din Tai Fung. The chili was more like a sate. However, I did enjoy it and would get it again. Crab Roe Siu Mai (3.7/5) - It was an average Siu Mai. I like the popping texture of the roe. I was it was a bit more of the crab and less of the shitake mushroom taste. Overall, a great experience and nice way to spend Valentine's day here. I will be back to try more dishes.

Dragon Beaux remains a dim sum favorite in San Francisco. The food is excellent. Highlights include delicate scallop shumai, rice noodle rolls with delicious BBQ pork or shrimp, crispy fried noodles with bok choy with fresh scallop & cuttlefish, pillowy spinach dumplings, and juicy XLBs served with fresh ginger and black vinegar. No carts here, but a paper menu and a pencil for ordering. The dining room is friendly and functional, with steady refills of tea. Unfortunately, the experience is tempered by restrooms here, which can get dirty, and as of our visit, we found in an unfortunate state of disrepair. Two of our guests felt so uncomfortable, they waited to leave to use them; one women's stall (the only one available) was missing half a toilet seat (!?), and my elderly father described the men's room as awful--and he's seen some things. It's a shame, and that impacts the overall experience.

A nicer-end dim sum spot that gets crowded with locals and tourists. Solid spot though that executes well on dishes. Their waiters are friendly and for the most part, attentive. I've had their dinner set menus/dishes many times but I find their dim sum is slightly better. The chicken feet was very tender and not overly sweet, and their ha gow/siu mai were plump. Their frog legs were some of the best I've had. Buns were solid as well. Beef chow fun was a big miss and I wouldn't get again - was lacking salt and flavor. Their roast pork is solid and their beans have good flavor. The food arrives fast and inside has a nice aesthetic. Would recommend!

My friends took me to get some dimsum and dumpling soups. We ordered the lava custard steam buns, bbq pork buns, chow fun beef, bbq pork ribs with taro and soup dumplings. I really like chow fun beef, it was good itself but even better with chili sauce. The lava buns were good, it was still hot even it was set out several minutes. The pork ribs has good spice, you can use utensils but using fingers are better. The bbq pork bao was okay. I already ate half and did not want anymore. Service was okay. We took a bus there. They have different seating arrangements for all types of groups.

Made a reservation for 6pm on the day before thanksgiving. Good thing I did because the restaurant was packed. However by 7:30pm, a lot of the groups left. On this day they had a thanksgiving menu. Which just means the menu was limited but still had a lot of options. We wanted salted egg yolk crab but they only offered ginger scallion or steamed with garlic. However the menu had a QR code linking to their full menu so that was confusing. Dim sum was still offered in the evening but none of the tables I've seen had ordered any. It's not officially crab season yet so our crab was small. However it was fresh and cooked perfectly. The crab was $49. We also ordered the lobster with e-fu noodles for $48. Lobster was also very fresh and done perfectly. Not overcooked or rubbery. The noodles were also not too soft. It had a ton of ginger though which I ended up picking out. Although the staffs were busy, the crab came out 15 minutes after ordering. Then the lobster 6 minutes later. However staffs were not attentive. We had to ask for extra napkins, a shell cracker and for plates to be cleared. Also I think they should use slightly bigger plates for dinner service. Tea is $1.95/pp.

We celebrated my sister's birthday at Dragon Beaux, which has become our go-to spot for family gatherings--everything from casual dim sum to special occasions. This time, we went big with a 10-course banquet for 10 people. What made the night extra special was having all her grandkids there too: a toddler and two babies, bringing lots of joy (and cuteness) to the table. The delicious Chinese food was excellent, as always, but what truly made the evening memorable was the service. We were fortunate to have an amazing team taking care of us--Marco, our lead waiter (yes, that Marco... "Marco Polo," as he joked), along with his attentive assistants, Lala and Fai. After dinner, Marco led the group in singing Happy Birthday and then cut the cake. A really thoughtful touch was how he acknowledged the grandchildren--remembering the toddler from when she was a baby and noting how young one of the babies was. We ended the night with warm goodbyes and cheerful wishes of "Happy Holidays." That kind of personal attention, combined with delicious Chinese food and a welcoming atmosphere, is exactly why we keep coming back to Dragon Beaux.

Is there parking? If not, where is the nearest parking?

Street parking & private parking which is couple of buildings away from the restaurant.

Corkage allowed if you bring in your own bottle of wine?

I would assume that there is a corkage, don't know how much though, when you bring your own bottle. Might be a good idea to drop them a line just to be sure and not waste time bringing the bottle if unable to. G Luck.

    Is dim sum all day?

Yes! You can reserve a table as well because wait times can be 30-45 minutes; more on Saturday and Sunday.

Will you ever bring the matcha yolk bao back on the menu?

Does this amazing restaurant have a smaller room for a wedding party or will they set aside tables together for a party of around 22-24 people?

Restaurant should not have a problem seating 24 together. I would suggest to call ahead and make a reservation.

Do you have outside dinning for dim sum?

There is a parklet! I presume you can eat there outside for dim sum.

Can we eat dim sum after noon time?

Yes they always have it when they are open!

    Vaccination card required?

No, I didn't get asked to show my card when I went this summer.

Is there any use of peanut oil or any cross contamination with nuts?

You would need to ask the restaurant staff.

Is the outside dining area dog friendly?

    Yes

Do they serve dim sum menu at dinner?

Yes they do! The menu they'll had you have limited dim sum options but you can always request something you don't see 🙂

Do they do hot pot at lunch or only dinner?

    Hot Pot at dinner only

How much is AYCE hot pot for dinner?

    Call the Restaurant

Can you get hot pot at an outdoor table?

I don't think so. The hot pot is imbedded in the table

    Do they have alcoholic beverages?

Yes they serve alcoholic beverages. They have wine and beer. They may have sake but I am not sure.

Do you have gluten free dim sum?

I don't think so. Many dim sum has soy sauce as a seasoning or contains wheat. You might want to check with the staff.

Are there still outdoor tables? Can we sit outside with our small dog?

Yes, they still have outdoor seating...I don't know if dogs are allowed

Are they still have ayce hotpot on weekday?

    Yes, ayce hotpot on weekday

Can I do both hotpot and the dinner menu? Want hot pot, but also some orders of xiao long bao

Yes. You can order both hotpot and dinner menu. Everything is delicious!

How are the vegetarian options and dumplings here?

Vegetarian options are as good as non-veg ones. Dumplings are excellent!

The staff were friendly and super prompt about clearing empty plates and refilling our tea whenever we signaled it was done, which is always great as the dishes just get on coming! We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and several really stood out. The spicy tendon was fantastic, shredded paper thin and swimming in a classic spicy sauce. The spicy lamb dumplings were another highlight, with an incredibly thin wrapper and a super flavorful and not gamey at all lamb filling. I also loved the stir fried rice cakes, which were sliced thin enough to avoid that overly chewy texture, and the stir fried noodles Shanghai style were classic and simple in the best way, with big chunks of cabbage and meat and just executed really (the chefs clearly have some serious wok skills!). Not everything we ordered was an absolute knockout as the vegetable dishes could use a bit more flavor and seasoning, but everything overall was good, and the portions across the board were very generous. The desserts were a last-minute decision and I am so glad we went for them. The lava custard buns were fluffy and amazing, with a molten salted egg custard inside, and the sesame balls had a satisfyingly crispy exterior that gave way to a perfectly chewy interior and sweet red bean filling. The value here is also excellent. We left absolutely stuffed and spent around $30 per person, which felt like a great deal for how much food we got and how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

Stopped by Palette Tea House with The Kid after FoodieLand thinking we were just coming for tea... and ended up having a full experience. We sat at the communal high-top table in the center of the restaurant, which has a small pond built into it with little goldfish and even a tiny rubber duck sitting on the rock formation -- such a cute detail and definitely adds to the ambiance. Our server Ken was fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. He recommended the Iron Goddess tea, which ended up being excellent. The Kid ordered the Milk Aroma Oolong, which surprisingly tasted almost like milk tea even though it's just brewed tea. Each tea comes with its own kettle, and Ken even came back to refill the hot water for us. For food, we ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Rice, which was a huge portion and easily shareable. Very flavorful and well prepared. We also tried the Sichuan Seafood Dumplings and the Iberico Pork Dumplings, both of which were delicious. One order is definitely enough to share. The dumplings come with several dipping sauces including soy sauce, vinegar, chili oil, hot mustard, and a cilantro-based sauce that had a slightly sweet, horseradish-like flavor that really stood out. Service throughout the meal was amazing. Even without a reservation, we were seated immediately. She went through a spell of being terribly nauseaus and only certain foods could be kept down. She's a fan of dumplings so we found this place on door dash and tried it. The Wagyu XLB is one of the best things I've ever eaten. And no that's not hyperbole.Everything we had from this place was great but those specific dumplings were amazing. My wife also was a big fan. She had the vegetable dumplings and not only was able to keep it down with her nausea, but would also get it again and she is a picky eater. The worst thing we ate there is something I would descriebe as "good but I don't need it again." I won't name the item because it really wasn't bad at all, it was just outshined by everything else. I have since recommened thist o a few different doctors and nurses at her hospital and two have reported back to us that they loved it as well. In fact one nurse's wife now wants Dumpling Time at least once a week. When I die, if the Wagyu XLB is the last thing I eat, it would not be a wasted life.

I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. Tonight a couple of wizards were in the process of making chicken potstickers. Even being vegetarian, just seeing how the dumplings and other items are made is like seeing secrets being shared. I love it and it sets the vibe for the restaurant. My order consisted of the steamed vegetarian buns and sautéed string beans. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. Three dishes, all fantastic, and I walk home happy and thankful to Bao for a great simple meal!

This is slightly more upscale Chinese/dumplings/dim sum than I'm used to (I usually go to Chinatown.) I like their - Steamed Sweet Red Bean Bao, Steamed Sweet Egg Custard Bao, (very Instagrammable and not overly-sweet.) - Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings. Pretty good - Sichuan Xiao Long Bao and Shanghai Xiao Long Bao: must-get! - shiu mai and har gow: my must-gets at any dumpling/dim sum place. Interior is polished and clean. Nice to bike to or go to before or after Dolores Park. Service is fine. I keep coming back!

Quick and tasty spot. Came here to split a siu mai while waiting for my order from another spot…read more The cashier was super friendly and the food came out quickly. Heads up that this is mostly a takeaway spot and they only have 1-2 small tables. The siu mai was fairly big and I liked that the order came with a bunch of sauces- chili oil, soy sauce, and a hot sauce. As a big sauce fan, I appreciated the selection! I'll be back to try most of their selection.

The baked bbq pork buns are sweet with a decent amount of filling. The deep fried dumpling is plump, juicy, and crunchy. The shrimp and chive dumplings are my favorite. It's full of shrimp with a slightly thicker skin, which I think adds a nice chewiness. The veggie egg rolls were okay. I personally wouldn't order those, even if I was craving them. The spare ribs had a really nice savory flavor from the sauce. The egg tarts were okay. I need to note that these bags are leftovers from the day, so they're not as fresh. But they held up the next day so I was able to stretch 2 meals out of them. I can't comment on service since these bags are only for pick up. But they quickly provide the bags once the window open. And it's a small space, with maybe 2 tables. So this place is probably best for to-go orders. Their 2g2g bags have more variety than their Chinatown location. Not sure how many dim sum options there are in the Mission, but I would go here if I was in the area and craving a shrimp and chive dumpling.
