    | February 24, 2026 | Dim sum with the parents! We came here because it was convenient, decent wi-fi and close by after doing an errand. Depending on what kind of dim sum you're craving this may or may not be the spot for you. We used to come here all the time but it's not normally my go to spot. Lowering stars because they chastised us for cancelling an item when they forgot. Our waiter was like next time we shouldn't order it because it takes time. My mom heard from the kitchen they couldn't find the ticket. The only thing I did like was the shrimp rice crepe roll where it was silky and the XLB broth was hot. I surprisingly like the goji berry osmanthus coconut jelly cake. * Shrimp Rice Crepe Roll 大蝦腸粉 $12.97 * Crispy Fried Taro Puff w/ Pork 蜂巢芋角 * Sesame Balls * Black Bean Sauce Chicken Paw 鳳爪 $7.25 * Classic Shrimp Dumpling 經典蝦餃 (4) $8.25 * Black Bean Sauce Spareribs 排骨 $6.25 * Juicy Pork Xiao Long Bao (XLB) 上海小籠包 (4) $8.25 * Classic Steamed BBQ Pork Bao 羊城叉燒包 (3) $7.25 * Goji Berry Osmanthus Coconut Jelly Cake 椰汁杞子桂花糕 (3) $5.75 (This was given to us complimentary because they forgot an order)

Came here for dim sum. They give you a paper menu and you check which items you want. I would say this spot is more fusion than a traditional dim sum. Still tasty tho. The scallop shu mai was my favorite. It was huge too. Got the assorted XLB but they all tasted like regular pork dumplings. Come with a big group so you can share and try different dishes. Street parking is very limited and there's a small lot that fits about 10 cars.

What an experience more than anything. This is a HUGE dim sum restaurant and is a cultural experience. We had a 11am reservation on a holiday and checked in and were seated quickly. The line was out the door to get a table, so many people waiting. Definitely make a reservation. Took a little while to get a high chair. But lots of space for strollers, walkers, wheel chairs, the restaurant had 3 huge dining room areas and dozens of tables. We ordered on a sheet where you check what you want and then pretty sporadically we'd get our many plates. Everything was yummy. What shinned was the pork ribs, soup dumplings, and the dessert bao the sweet one and the pineapple one. Wow the pineapple one I will be dreaming about for years to come. Amazing texture and filling, not overwhelmingly sweet, perfect sweetness.

most dishes were good, the staff were really nice and gave everyone free ice cream for one of our birthdays! I liked the wagyu stir fry the best. the honey glazed sea bass was a bit disappointing as there wasn't enough flavor inside and the creamy sauce did not mesh well, but the texture was great

4% surcharge. Some hits and misses: 4.5: Custard Crystal dumpling $6: Interesting mochi like wrapper. worth trying. 4.4: Steamed egg yolk lava bao $7.25: ok. Has an interesting granulated texture. 4.0: Jumbo scallop siu mai $9.50: deluxe. Good texture, flavor is OK. 3.0: Wontons in chili oil $8.25: Meh. The flavor just wasn't there. Wrapper is soggy.

We came here on the recommendation of a friend. Their wagyu beef with roasted garlic, spicy eggplant, Dungeness crab with scallion, and duck fried rice were all excellent. They also serve dim sum at dinner, which is rare for most Chinese restaurants.

Time for another update. Happy CNY. Got here right before the rush! Quality/Quantity - Congrats on still being crazy busy!! Chore day today and I was just too tired to cook lunch. So we walked across the street from my last chore place to here. Never a bad time to get more dim sum, especially good high end dim sum. Well, not as positive as our previous visits. Actually, I feel this brand and all their sister/brother brands are dropping. Are you just getting too big? Today my guest ordered the following, overall all of which were good. Jasmine Jade Dew Tea - $1.95 each. Shrimp Rice Crepe Roll - $11. Mixed Mushrooms Rice Crepe Roll $9.50 - This was my favorite dish! And healthier. Generous portions, generous mushrooms. Abalone E-Fu Noodles $25 - The abalone was smaller than expected. But the overall dish was good. Beef Chow Fun $22 - My guest's favorite! Decent portions. Ambiance - Overall the place still looks the same, so considering the huge volume you have, good job maintaining. It would be nice if you can install more restrooms as there is often a line... Semi open kitchen, see previous pictures. Metered street parking. Service - This is where it was noticeably different. NO service?!?! I had to flag down a team member to take our order, get forks, extra napkins, water (asked two different people), give us our check, to-go boxes, etc..... Price - Expensive, but that is the cost for quality. If only the service reflected the quality. Also a 4% "House Surcharge." Owner Comment - Founder of Koi Palace, Willy Ng, partnered with Jenny Huang to open Dragon Beaux, and it is still a hit!

Solid dim sum spot. Insanely long wait snake sure to make reservations and be on time for it. We were late and had to wait a while before a seat opened. Menu was pretty reasonably priced with presentation and taste being mostly on par. The only disappointment was from the scallion sesame bread. It was a bit dry and dense without much scallion flavor. Food: 8.5/10 Service: 8/10 Ambience: 8/10

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now and was finally able to. We walked through a fairly small reception area to our booth which was quite interesting set up. There were booth seating along the window and a row basically in the middle of the room just parallel to the bar. Very comfortable seating with some intricate design on the seat post and table. They do have a huge dining area to accommodate larger parties. Teapot had a stand with lit tealight to hell keep the teapot warm. A plus! The food was delicious, fresh, and high quality. We got some traditional and some traditional with a twist dim sum items. Everything was excellent. Some of the exceptional dishes were the Jumbo Scallop Shiu Mai, the juicy XLB, and the roasted pork belly. Service was okay. Although our sever was a bit disconcerting, he was efficient. This will not deter us from coming back to this restaurant

Been here a few times now for weekend dim sum with the family and friends. It's usually one of the spots we pick when we want a big table and just catch up. The place gets really busy, so definitely plan ahead and make reservations for weekend brunch. Parking can also be a little hectic since it's mostly street parking around the area and gets very busy. The dim sum here is menu ordering and it's definitely on the pricier side. For me it's kind of hit of miss. Some dishes are really good and you can tell they make things fresh, but some feel a little mediocre especially for the price. The one thing that keeps happening whenever I come here is that a lot of the dim sum comes out lukewarm or sometimes even a little cold. I know it's coming straight from the kitchen and the flavors are there, but it just never seems to arrive hot which takes away from the experience. That being said, it's still a nice spot to hang out with friends and family. The rooms is lively and bustling and the service has always been friendly no matter how busy the place gets. They do a great job keeping your tea topped off and checking in on the table. I just wish the food came out hotter because for the price you kind of expect it to be a little better than average.

Solid dim sum restaurant in the Richmond. I've been here multiple times for dim sum and dinner, and I haven't had a bad experience. Do get their baked bbq pork buns, salted egg yolk buns, peking duck, beef chow fun.

    Chris L.

A lovely experience. It gets pretty crowded at peak times. Service was ok. Sometimes had difficulty getting their attention. But the food was amazing and worth it. Would recommend and go back. Great lively atmosphere.

Best dim sum in sf! Expect a very long wait for peak dim sum hours (weekend brunch time). Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if possible - this puts you at the top of the list which makes your wait much shorter than if you just show up and put your name down. Service is pretty standard for a super busy dim sum spot. The workers have to be quick to get people in and out as fast as they can; they're kind, but you're not going to get flowery service. Ordering is easy- you mark what you want on the pamphlet and they'll get it from you and have your table marked with all your orders. Plates come out at different times depending on what's available. The food itself is amazing, and I think it's the best dim sum place in sf proper. All the standard dim sum dumplings (har gow, siu mai) are perfectly made. Very flavorful and well crafted. My other favorites are the taro pork puffs and the shrimp crepe rolls. I also really like the chicken feet here, and I don't typically go for chicken feet. Full of meat and juicy, plus easy to eat. Besides the standard plates, we sometimes like ordering original items like the colorful dumplings. All have been great and tasty too. Will always look forward to coming here for dim sum and will continue to take family here. Definitely worth the wait.

Extremely authentic dimsum - definitely the best I've had in the US so far. Better than anything I've had in NYC or elsewhere in SF.

Is there parking? If not, where is the nearest parking?

Street parking & private parking which is couple of buildings away from the restaurant.

Corkage allowed if you bring in your own bottle of wine?

I would assume that there is a corkage, don't know how much though, when you bring your own bottle. Might be a good idea to drop them a line just to be sure and not waste time bringing the bottle if unable to. G Luck.

    Is dim sum all day?

Yes! You can reserve a table as well because wait times can be 30-45 minutes; more on Saturday and Sunday.

Will you ever bring the matcha yolk bao back on the menu?

Does this amazing restaurant have a smaller room for a wedding party or will they set aside tables together for a party of around 22-24 people?

Restaurant should not have a problem seating 24 together. I would suggest to call ahead and make a reservation.

Do you have outside dinning for dim sum?

There is a parklet! I presume you can eat there outside for dim sum.

Can we eat dim sum after noon time?

Yes they always have it when they are open!

    Vaccination card required?

No, I didn't get asked to show my card when I went this summer.

Is there any use of peanut oil or any cross contamination with nuts?

You would need to ask the restaurant staff.

Is the outside dining area dog friendly?

    Yes

Do they serve dim sum menu at dinner?

Yes they do! The menu they'll had you have limited dim sum options but you can always request something you don't see 🙂

Do they do hot pot at lunch or only dinner?

    Hot Pot at dinner only

How much is AYCE hot pot for dinner?

    Call the Restaurant

Can you get hot pot at an outdoor table?

I don't think so. The hot pot is imbedded in the table

    Do they have alcoholic beverages?

Yes they serve alcoholic beverages. They have wine and beer. They may have sake but I am not sure.

Do you have gluten free dim sum?

I don't think so. Many dim sum has soy sauce as a seasoning or contains wheat. You might want to check with the staff.

Are there still outdoor tables? Can we sit outside with our small dog?

Yes, they still have outdoor seating...I don't know if dogs are allowed

Are they still have ayce hotpot on weekday?

    Yes, ayce hotpot on weekday

Can I do both hotpot and the dinner menu? Want hot pot, but also some orders of xiao long bao

Yes. You can order both hotpot and dinner menu. Everything is delicious!

How are the vegetarian options and dumplings here?

Vegetarian options are as good as non-veg ones. Dumplings are excellent!

This is our "official" dim sum option for weeknight take out. Personal favorites for me are always going to be the salt/pepper wings, the steamed pork buns, the crystal shrimp dumplings, and the scallion pancakes. My wife loves the soup dumplings, the shu mai. We could eat those dishes every week until we die pretty much, they are reliably good and comforting. Particular shout out on the pork buns though because they are just the absolute best consistency from a filling/bun standpoint. Soft, pillowy, they are glorious. I used to get pork buns from Good Mong Kok Bakery, but tbh, this is about 10x better. The soup dumpling also are quite good, I like the spicy ones but the black truffle is defintely worth it for the occasional splurge. They give you the red vinegar for it too which not all places do. Everything one needs to enjoy. I haven't been in person so I couldn't speak for the service or the location, but if you want a spot that delivers on time and often includes items for free (the pork buns are now free for orders over $50), this is great value and just great food. The staff were friendly and super prompt about clearing empty plates and refilling our tea whenever we signaled it was done, which is always great as the dishes just get on coming! We ordered a bunch of dishes to share, and several really stood out. The spicy tendon was fantastic, shredded paper thin and swimming in a classic spicy sauce. The spicy lamb dumplings were another highlight, with an incredibly thin wrapper and a super flavorful and not gamey at all lamb filling. I also loved the stir fried rice cakes, which were sliced thin enough to avoid that overly chewy texture, and the stir fried noodles Shanghai style were classic and simple in the best way, with big chunks of cabbage and meat and just executed really (the chefs clearly have some serious wok skills!). Not everything we ordered was an absolute knockout as the vegetable dishes could use a bit more flavor and seasoning, but everything overall was good, and the portions across the board were very generous. The desserts were a last-minute decision and I am so glad we went for them. The lava custard buns were fluffy and amazing, with a molten salted egg custard inside, and the sesame balls had a satisfyingly crispy exterior that gave way to a perfectly chewy interior and sweet red bean filling. The value here is also excellent. We left absolutely stuffed and spent around $30 per person, which felt like a great deal for how much food we got and how much we enjoyed it. Highly recommend!

The Peking duck was the most disappointing, we had such high hope for how it looked and how nicely it was setup. However the duck was cold and the skin had zero crisp. The sauce base isn't overpowering and pairs well with the XLB and dumplings. Of the Xian style dumplings, the lamb is my favorite. I've tried the pork before, but something about the filling tasted off. The dumplings are wrapped in a thick, egg-based hand kneaded dough that gives them a homemade feel. Steering clear of the pork XLB, the tom yum has an incredibly savory soup base with the eye-catching red wrappers. Couldn't quite taste the coconut broth, but was still equally rich and savory. Would definitely order this and the lamb dumplings again. My biggest hesitation about coming back is the recent price hike (between Feb/Mar and July 2026). Compared to just a few months ago: Lamb dumplings: $12.50 to $15 String beans: $10.50 to $14 Scallion noodles: $10.50 to $14 Tom Yum XLB: $16 to $17 Small increases are understandable, but nearly a 50% jump for noodles and string beans are hard to justify. I walked into the restaurant about 45 minutes before closing time at 9:30 PM and several other diners came in after I was seated. The unsettled weather made the people hungry for dumplings. Bao is warm and woody and serene on the inside, a great counterpoint to the bustle of Valencia at every hour. Upon entering there is a large window looking on to the kitchen prep area where culinary experts are often at work constructing the food diners later enjoy on their plates. Tonight a couple of wizards were in the process of making chicken potstickers. Even being vegetarian, just seeing how the dumplings and other items are made is like seeing secrets being shared. I love it and it sets the vibe for the restaurant. My order consisted of the steamed vegetarian buns and sautéed string beans. The buns come out beautifully presented and taste even better: the bun itself is just slightly sweet and that sweetness adds an amazing dimension to the chopped fresh vegetables inside. Can't tell you what any of these veggies are individually and I don't care, they are so good. Next came the sautéed string beans and the sear on the beans themselves was perfect and smoky and delicious. The crispness of the sautee makes the string beans a lovely pairing with the soft yummy of the steamed buns. Last came the sesame balls as a sweet meal ending. I love donuts and fresh-made sesame balls are similar to a donut hole just with a filling that is actually food and so sweetly tasty. The outer fry was crisp and the insides absolutely perfect. Three dishes, all fantastic, and I walk home happy and thankful to Bao for a great simple meal!

I love watching them make dumplings in the window. This is a great location on Valencia with some…read morenice outdoor seating. I love people-watching in the Mission! This is slightly more upscale Chinese/dumplings/dim sum than I'm used to (I usually go to Chinatown.) I like their - Steamed Sweet Red Bean Bao, Steamed Sweet Egg Custard Bao, (very Instagrammable and not overly-sweet.) - Salt & Pepper Chicken Wings. Pretty good - Sichuan Xiao Long Bao and Shanghai Xiao Long Bao: must-get! - shiu mai and har gow: my must-gets at any dumpling/dim sum place. Interior is polished and clean. Nice to bike to or go to before or after Dolores Park. Service is fine. I keep coming back!

Quick and tasty spot. Came here to split a siu mai while waiting for my order from another spot…read more The cashier was super friendly and the food came out quickly. Heads up that this is mostly a takeaway spot and they only have 1-2 small tables. The siu mai was fairly big and I liked that the order came with a bunch of sauces- chili oil, soy sauce, and a hot sauce. As a big sauce fan, I appreciated the selection! I'll be back to try most of their selection.

I've only ordered dim sum from here through Too Good to Go (2g2g). Like their Chinatown location,…read moreI find the dim sum to be oily. But overall, it's good. The baked bbq pork buns are sweet with a decent amount of filling. The deep fried dumpling is plump, juicy, and crunchy. The shrimp and chive dumplings are my favorite. It's full of shrimp with a slightly thicker skin, which I think adds a nice chewiness. The veggie egg rolls were okay. I personally wouldn't order those, even if I was craving them. The spare ribs had a really nice savory flavor from the sauce. The egg tarts were okay. I need to note that these bags are leftovers from the day, so they're not as fresh. But they held up the next day so I was able to stretch 2 meals out of them. I can't comment on service since these bags are only for pick up. But they quickly provide the bags once the window open. And it's a small space, with maybe 2 tables. So this place is probably best for to-go orders. Their 2g2g bags have more variety than their Chinatown location. Not sure how many dim sum options there are in the Mission, but I would go here if I was in the area and craving a shrimp and chive dumpling.
