One of the main reasons I rarely go here now is the parking situation. At the weekend it is a nightmare with cars double parked just beside a busy roundabout where the lucky star sits. Food is nice but no where the best in area but it has been there a long time and is still busy so they must be doing something right. Their chips are really good and I always get some when I go here. I have found delivery to be slow but staff are nice.

The chicken satay, three skewers of chicken breast in a sweet, nutty and tangy sauce is to die for. The prawn salt and chilli is amazing. The thin noodles super tasty and the rice not overly heavy. Service was friendly and helpful and the food was cooed fresh for us, which meant about 10 minutes wait. The food was piping hot when we got home and I was literally over the moon to see they included a bag of prawn crackers as well. Win. Downside was that my beef with cashews didn't actually have any cashews and was possibly beef and ginger instead. Either way it was pretty tasty and all the dishes were pretty impressive. I'll definitely be stopping here again. They also have an interesting range (if not very small) of grocery items.

Furthering my disappointment, my Kung Po chicken appeared to be a regular skinless chicken breast in watery brown sauce somewhat resembling the Kung Po taste I know. All this aside my meal was admittedly a little tasty, and I was impressed with the amount of spring rolls received in our appetizer order (and the free shrimp chips/crisps.) What I must rave about is the Szechuan chicken my friend ordered. It was delicious, and unlike any Szechuan dish I've eaten, (if I was a little more confident in my knowledge of Chinese food I would say it's categorically *not* Szechuan style.) It was not a brown sauce, but rather a dry chili seasoning, very similar to the seasoning on orders by the name of 'chili calamari' in various Asian restaurants I've been to in North America. I would think that we were given the wrong order but it was a dish my local friend orders regularly. There were no fortune cookies in our bag. For cheap Chinese takeout: two and a quarter stars.

Now I thought China Buffet King in town had a small selection of food, but this was ridiculous. There was maybe about 20 dishes in total over 4 areas, and none of them were particularly better than others. Dry, tasteless food for the most part, and when it wasn't tasteless, I'd wished it was. I'd never recommend CBK to anyone, but if it's there or this place, you should probably just stick to your chain.
