Hidden away towards the far end of Duke Street, this lonely little eatery must do quite well as the closest place of its kind for those living in the nearby Haghill area. I was lucky to have stumbled upon this tucked away place, on a wintry walk to a friend's house. I took a peek inside and opted for the vegetable chow mein, which was fine, but is a choosy chow mein chomper, I wasn't overly impressed. Around a week later, I popped in again, mainly due to hunger and convenience, and I decided to try something different. I chose one of their snack boxes, which was piled high with chips, fried rice and curry sauce, for only £3! This was more like it, cheap and cheerful and enough food to feed three of us! This place may not be as wonderful as it suggests, however it serves up your basic Chinese takeaway grub, with very generous portions. I'd recommend the snack boxes, which only cost £2-£3 and are pretty tasty indeed.

The only downside of the take away was that the waiting area was cold and when the door opened the cold breeze went straight through you. One of the main reasons I rarely go here now is the parking situation. At the weekend it is a nightmare with cars double parked just beside a busy roundabout where the lucky star sits. Food is nice but no where the best in area but it has been there a long time and is still busy so they must be doing something right. Their chips are really good and I always get some when I go here.
