I don't get it. The cheese blend has way too much parm and comes off salty. The sauce has to be too sweet to make up for the cheese blend. The crust is fine. It is unique and not for me, but it is fine. Maybe we made a mistake by trying to judge them on their cheese pie instead of some of the great looking toppings combos. Definitely the worst pizza in Davis Sq next to Mike's (at least for my tastes) this far. I guess I'm in the minority but this pizza tastes like a mouth full of Parmesan and nothing else. So if you absolutely LOVE your pizza as cheesy as cheesy can be, go for it. The dough was bland, and sauce reminded me of Papa Gino's. I don't get the rave reviews. Maybe I tried the wrong thing or caught them on a bad night? This wasn't even the best pizza in Davis, I'd rather have Flatbread or Oath. I got the pepperoni (red sauce) and added the "ben's shroom blend." They weren't very generous with the shrooms and they were undercooked, almost raw. The pepperoni on the other hand was overwhelming...or maybe it was just the combination of the pepperoni with something else...I'd thought maybe it was the zingy sauce but after reading other reviews here, it might just be too much parm. Salt overload! Then there's the crust...it was frankly tough. Not chewy, but actually tough. And with no crunch...maybe underdone but I don't know what they are shooting for. I would hope shoe-leather isn't it. BTW there were 2 kinds of pepperoni on this pizza. They advertise it as having "VT artisanal roni". One kind was that, but the other kind, in large squares, I'm pretty sure was something else. It kind of seems like they are stretching their touted "VT artisanal roni" with something cheaper. This is pretty minor, but I'm also not real keen on their cutting it into 6 enormous slices rather than the standard 8. read more

This place has great pizza! Lots of different toppings. They also have a bar and gelato.

Our pizza was straight up bad. Really, really undercooked - to the point where we had to pop it in the oven when we got home. Also bottom of the pizza box was covered in sauce and cheese which was annoying, but luckily we realized before we put it on the seat. Giving it a 3 because maybe they just had a terrible night? Looks like a plain corner pizza shop -- equally affordable but full of surprises. You can get tasty hand-thrown pizza with intriguing, locally-sourced ingredients for $3.50-$6 the slice. Choices include standards like cheese and sausage, but also margherita, broccoli rabe, spicy chicken, and more, all offered by the slice or by the pie. They also have very Davis salad choices, including one with local lettuce & champagne vinaigrette and a quinoa salad. Drink options are basic sodas, but they promise beer & wine soon and they already offer espresso and gelato. I got a slice of mushroom because it boasted ~5 different kinds of mushroom and was coated in a minced mushroom sauce and big spots of ricotta cheese. It was delicious and the slices were big. I don't usually like thin-crust pizzas, but the fresh-baked taste and crispy crackle were perfect. read more

Awesome, homemade food with a small (but tasty) menu! The greens and grain and watermelon/heirloom tomato salads are AMAZING. If you get skewers in a wrap, they're pretty small so I recommend two. And the owners seem really invested in their business, which is nice to see. read more

Most of these reviews are misleading, $5 is the top prices for a premium multi topping slice. A cheese slice is $3.50, others were $4.50. I got a three cheese slice and it was great. Excited to go back and try some with toppings, they looked good as well. Service was friendly and quick. read more

We had some good pizza from Dragon when they first opened, but since then it seems to have gone downhill. Last time the Margherita was delivered without basil - what's a Margherita without basil?? It is overpriced for an average pizza. I ordered a two topping (pepperoni and mushroom) pizza and it was $22.50. Do not order mushrooms if you're expecting standard pizza topping mushrooms. They were exotic, of different varieties and disgusting. I am a mushroom lover and pulled them all off. We threw half the pizza away. read more
