Vibrant shiny coats and great muscle tone. You're can really tell that she provides excellent care to her animals and has a lot of passion towards them. Second, her property, location and trail ride is breathtaking. The terrain provides a good mixture of up and down hills, open fields, thick forest and shallow water crossings. Oh and great views. Third would be Maria herself. The best instructor and guide we have had and will probably continue to return to her family's farm more often. Maria is very knowledgeable and experienced. She is super friendly and very easy to going. Plus she takes great pictures even while loping on her horse! My wife and I will definitely be back to ME Horsemanship for more time in the saddle!

I'm used to going on horse rides where the leader rides in front of the group on their horse and the horses follow. The horses were physically walked by the staff and owner the entire trail and the lead rope wasn't even placed correctly so the horses couldn't take accurate direction we kept getting walked into bushes and low hanging trees. The owner kept yelling directions at staff. It was loud and obnoxious. You could tell the staff didn't appreciate it. Treated us like children. The helmets we used didn't seem sanitary or washed. For a birthday ride it was sub par.

The lessons and horse care is great! She really focuses on position and above all else, safety. With those in mind, she pushes her students to be the best they can be. I first reached out to Rob because I really needed some help with some behavioral issues relating to patience and anxiety. When Rob came out to meet me and my horse for the initial consult he was able to pick up on the exact things I was looking to fix within the first 5 minutes without me telling him! He is incredibly perceptive and has such a calm presence and energy around horses that only comes with over 30 years experience. He truly knows and UNDERSTANDS horses. Rob helped me realize that my horse could use a lot more groundwork and foundational work before we worked on issues under saddle. Even though I've had my horse for over 3 years, I am still a first time horse owner so I know I still have a ton to learn. For example, I really wanted Rob to teach me what groundwork is and how to do it on my own. I found out there's a lot of things I let my horse get away with that were actually causing him more anxiety! I play polo and Rob even came out to watch me play polo to see how I interact with my horse on the field! Now with every lesson Rob is able to tie everything we are doing back to how that will benefit us on the polo field. Rob is such a kind, patient instructor that I feel like I've grown so much as a horse owner and as a rider. She put down the facility that my daughter goes to for lessons. My daughter witnessed White hit the horse in the face with the reins repeatedly. She was very rude in talking AT my daughter. When White would ask my daughter questions White would roll her eyes at my daughter's answers. When my daughter was crying on the horse, White tried to tell me how to parent. My daughter, who loves horses and received the lesson as a gift cried historically once in the car. I would not recommend White Wind to anyone.

After sharing that…read moreI had a beginner rider and a little bit about my child, I was told they had the availability to enroll in group lessons and the next step was to schedule an evaluation at which time we would discuss goals and schedule preferences. I should note that my daughter has done very well in previous horseback lessons and trail rides. When we arrived for the evaluation, instructor Chloe's intentions seemed to shift when she realized my child had a physical disability that causes her to walk differently although she still does so independently and is very capable. During the 20 mins that my daughter was given on the horse, Chloe asked only basic instruction which my child followed. We were then charged $110 for this brief session. After I made the payment, Chloe returned to her desk work without saying a word. When I inquired about next steps, I was rather callously told that our child wasn't ready for group lessons. When I asked for the reasoning, I was told that we could do private lessons. When I asked for more information on privates, Chloe said she would get back to me and had a "don't call us, we'll call you" tone. Chloe then emailed me to say they would not be able to offer private lessons to a beginner. I responded asking for further explanation which French Hill has not responded to. One in four people will encounter some form of disability in their lifetime, whether as a condition they are born with, due to injury, age, or some other issue. This is the reality we all face. I hope that the instructors and owners of French Hill will come to understand the impact of their words and actions if this becomes their reality. Recognizing a person's abilities and potential (especially when it is a child) rather than focusing on perceived differences is so important as is fostering inclusion, dignity and respect for everyone regardless of how they navigate the world.

She took lessons from Leighanne, Ashlie and Trish and she learned great things from each one. Lessons focused on what the kids need to work on and they provide strong foundational training. They are alll extremely safety focused, which is an important aspect of what they do. My daughter is a strong rider today because of her time at French Hill, and she loved the time she spent there.
