Beware ordering blinds! Curtains well made, but blinds were…read morefitted with a chain so short it is difficult to raise and lower them. I was told this is because people might hang themselves on a longer chain. This is less likely than me injuring myself trying to reach them. Julian Foye are unwilling to supply a longer chain. At £448 for two blinds, plus a fitting charge, I am disappointed - to put it mildly - and am unlikely to use them again. A pity, as I have 14 windows which will need new blinds and curtains over the next few years.

UPDATE: since posting this review, the company backtracked and agreed to refund me the £150. Really…read morehope they change their cancellation fees policy going forward --- Awful experience - Julian Foye charged me an £150 cancellation fee to cancel an order I'd placed over the phone just the day before. I hadn't received the item, nothing had been made. I was shocked and incredibly upset - £150 is a huge amount of money. I can't see any excuse for charging a fee like this. Please be warned that Julian Foye have a blanket policy of charging huge cancellation fees/retaining your deposit if you cancel an order, even if you cancel it before anything has been made or received. I don't want anyone else to fall prey to this. I have written twice to the Managing Director of Julian Foye asking her to refund me, as charging excessive cancellation fees is in breach of Consumer Law (which states customers are entitled to a 14-day cooling off period to cancel an order made online or over the phone). Sadly I received no reply to my emails. I shopped with Julian Foye to support a local Cornish business, but now I wish I had shopped elsewhere. Incredibly upset by the whole experience.

I ordered a 4ft futon and mattress on Monday 2nd September. I ordered this item over others because…read moreof their 'guaranteed next day delivery'. I emailed to confirm the item would be delivered on the Tuesday and this was confirmed via email. I received a call from the next day at 4pm to say my item would not be delivered and could not be delivered until Thursday. As I had taken a day off to wait for the item to be delivered I was not prepared to waste another day of leave to wait and insisted I had the item delivered on Saturday. I should have been notified earlier in the day that the item could not be delivered instead of wasting my time. I waited all day Saturday until the mattress was delivered - without the base. I then had to wait until Monday to call up your customer services to complain that only half the item had been delivered. I spoke a representative and she told me only half of all items went out on Saturday - however if I had not called would I have actually been notified of this at all?! While she attempted to be accommodating I was given the choice of yet taking more time off work. She assured my I could have a morning delivery and that the second part of my item would arrive before 12pm. The base of my futon arrived at 12pm exactly. Eventually the base was brought to my door but -bashed about and left at my door. Clearly though despite your company relying heavily on delivery of your items, you take NO responsibility for the delivery. The box - while I saw no obvious damage was pathetically put together and I did not have anything in which to put the base together e.g. Instructions, bolts, allen key? I don't know. I spoke to another Customer Service Representative and she said she would have these delivered. I was then sent the bolts, without instructions. I called AGAIN and was emailed instructions, only then to see The futon needed LEGS. I called again and finally got these pieces. While phoning to complain I was told there were no managers. I was told because of the issues I had I could get 10% back £10 OR If I left a 5* review that day I would get £25. What a con. I was then put in touch with a manager - of which I was told did not exist. As this person only called at 8pm on a Friday evening, I've yet to discuss these issues with her. I've emailed and received nothing. I am more than unimpressed with the customer service, delivery and the quality of the product. I can not believe I've paid £100 for a bit of shoddy ply wood and pathetically thin mattress. Despite your claims of -next day delivery and quality products at good value - I feel absolutely conned and will be complaining to ebay about your trusted seller status. I have lost more money than I have paid for this item. I would return the entire item, however I do not want to waste any more time or £30 returning the item.
