Great cafe right in the heart of South Lake Tahoe! There's a good amount of seating both indoors and outdoors, and the vibe is very cozy. The Brown Sugar & Spice Latte was amazing - not too sweet, and just the right amount of spice. The staff were very kind and the coffees were ready in no time.

Really cute coffee shop. Super quaint with a few seating areas and a patio with a fireplace. The parking is behind the building and on a street. Not a ton of area to park, but I imagine people make it work when it gets super busy. I ordered the Purple Haze iced latte which is a lavender latte. I got it with a little more lavender syrup than normal as I do like lavender lattes. It was really good, but I wish I didn't have them add the lavender topping. That was my mistake. That topping is not edible and is not good. I should have known better. My husband order the brown sugar and spice iced latte. He liked it. It was packed with spices, and not like anything we have ever had before. I also got a bag of beans to go. The baristas asked if I wanted the beans ground, which I appreciated, but declined. The 2 baristas were super friendly and gave a lot of good recommendations. We will be back next time we are in Tahoe.

I almost missed this spot when I drove by, it is a quaint little shop that blends in with the neighborhood. I like visiting places that are converted homes. The front entrance is like walking into a ski chalet and it opend up into the 'Living Room'. There are a few tables, window benches, and soft chairs to enjoy sitting by the fireplace. I was greeted by the barista and she took my order with the friendliest small town smile. This is not a rush in, rush out kind of place. You will get the service of a person, not a corporation. My ususal order is a vanilla latte, it never misses here. They also have breakfast pastries and some ready-to-drink canned coffee drinks.

I am always trying the local coffee shops wherever I adventure and DCDS in South Lake Tahoe was no exception. I found it via Yelp, and luckily, it was closest to our accommodation. The shop itself was small, quaint and very cozy. There is plenty of space, but parking is limited to two spots in the front and a few more in the back. The baristas are very fun and friendly. I ordered the seasonal Peppermint Mocha. I was able to customize my choice of milk. I love that their peppermint syrup was made in house and they roasted their own beans. It was so delicious. It tasted like an Ande's mint in a cup. Overall, I loved my experience and enjoyed my coffee. Yelp 2026 Challenge: 02/30

Good coffee! Small space, but it's cute. Baristas were friendly. We always stop by here when we're in town! Brown sugar and spice latte is delicious!!

This is a really short and easy walk from the main strip in South Lake. We normally stay at the 3 Peaks Hotel or the Coachman. This is about a 10 to 15 minute walk from the hotel. I opted for the Purple Haze which is a latte with lavender syrup and my husband got a vanilla latte. We also decided to get a bagel sandwich that had egg and cheese. The coffee is delicious and the drinks are not overly sweet. The standout was the bagel because it was perfectly toasted. The customer service is superb and even more so, they are dog friendly. They let you enjoy your drink and food inside with your pup! This is especially helpful when it gets really cold outside. They do have an outdoor patio with a fire pit if you want to sit outside. This is one of our go to coffee spots in South Lake!

I think the logo and name is what caught my attention. That's basically my life motto. So we stopped by when we finally had time. This spot was perfect in my opinion. Away from the busy crowd, ample neighborhood parking and lots of space despite a fairly small location. The menu is in a odd spot in my opinion. If you're facing the register, it's behind you on the wall above the merchandise. So when we walked in, we noticed the merch, but somehow not the menu. We had to ask the employee taking our order and felt kinda dumb when we found it lol. My wifed ordered one of the specialty tea drinks and she loved it. I tasted it and I can confirm it was amazing. I ordered just a regular cold brew and I have to be honest, it was not my favorite. Watered down more than I'd like. Not sure if it was the ice or if there was too much water during the initial brew, but I wasn't a fan despite finishing it. The employees were cool, Didn't get any bad or unwelcoming vibes. Merch was sick. The spot was dope, lots of seating options, and wifi was fast. The cold brew was a pass for me but I'm open to trying something else next time.

Loved this spot! It was super walkable from our hotel, so I ended up coming here twice during our trip. The first time I got the rose latte and it was not overly floral, just the perfect balance, exactly how I like it. The second time I tried the horchata latte. It did not really taste like horchata but I actually appreciated the lightness and flavor from the rice milk. The vibe here is great too with plenty of outdoor seating that is perfect for relaxing or even snapping some cute photos. Definitely one of my new go-to coffee spots in Tahoe!

The Pines Latte & the staff. That is the review. :) Drink coffee do stuff has always been a favorite, the first time I checked out the coffee shop was in Truckee & enjoyed it. But this one located in S Lake has to be my favorite. The Pines latte & the oat milk latte were delicious, the staff were all lovely & welcoming, and even with the busy traffic every early morning, they all seem unfazed and kept working well under pressure. The location is conveniently located near the NV/CA border, where we stayed close by and just walked down to every morning. Which made for an enjoyable walk. All in all, this one has to be my favorite for the patio seating and the seating in the back of the cafe. This is such a lovely touch when you're surrounded by the beautiful Tahoe trees. Made each morning on our trip just more special.

Background On Shop: Drink coffee do stuff is a specialty coffee company built with the belief that extraordinary coffee leads to an extraordinary life. The mantra began in the Swiss Alps in 2012 during founder Nick Visconti's pro snowboard days and continues today at our Lake Tahoe headquarters. As specialty coffees grow at elevations similar to that of our roastery, all our coffees are sourced from the mountains and roasted in the mountains. The hallmark of our coffee roasting style is maximizing sweetness and revealing origin characteristic. High altitude roasting at 6,000ft in Lake Tahoe provides us unique advantages to achieve this consistently making all our coffees more sweet, less bitter. Background On Visit: A staffer, Brianna, from Americana Village recommended that I should go and try out this coffee shop, Restroom: They have a unisex restroom. Credit Cards: They're accepted. Visitation Rights: 1 time at this location, but I've been to the Truckee location twice. Location/Parking: Located on Pioneer Rd. between Moss and Midway Rd.. Parking can be found on Primrose Road (in the back) or the 3 parking spots up front. Ambiance/Decor: The shop projected cozy vibes. There wasn't any ounce of snootiness at the shop. There's minimal furnishings in the shop, but they do out have places to sit in the front and back of the shop. Service: Spencer was friendly, attentive, and offered great suggestions. I was still indecisive until he gave me samples of the drip coffee. Drink Of Choice: I had their medium roast drip coffee. It was their Ethiopian Yirgacheffe. Absolutely loved the fruity flavor. Drink Coffee Do Stuff For Thought: Wouldn't mind visiting again when i'm in South Lake Tahoe.

Quick friendly service with a nice offering of coffee drinks & unique creations. Still waiting on the $0 adder fee for dairy alternative milks. We ordered a latte, mocha & pine something... all with dairy alternative options . The best surprise was the vegan plain croissant. When does that ever appear? Apparently here in South Lake! The cafe had a really chill ambiance with mellow music playing. We enjoyed a slow late morning here. It was perfect!

The staff was very kind, answering any questions we had, and drinks were served up quickly. The pastries here looked absolutely insane! It took everything I had to pass up on them- but next time, I have already decided I am getting the apple streusel. The drinks are a bit pricey here, but the portions are large. Most iced/blended drinks are around $7.50, but they are 16-oz servings. The Green Monkey (blended matcha, almond milk, and banana) was so creamy and sweet, and delicious. The smoothies are soft serve-based and offer a perfect sweetness level while still being fresh from the fruit and creamy like a milkshake. I also enjoyed a double shot to sample their espresso game- very tasty stuff. They have lots of merch for sale, including their coffee varieties, which I thought were priced well. First, this is a coffee and Kava lounge. I don't know much about Kava, so I can only speak to the coffee. They do also have some food, but I am not sure how that works since there was only a single employee when we visited. Maybe only certain hours? Maybe it just takes some time? Not sure, we skipped food on this visit. We ordered one of their signature matcha drinks and a cold brew. The single employee was friendly and doing the best she could, but it got quite busy and I could tell she was struggling to keep up. The prices at the register were $0.25-$0.75 higher than what was listed on the menu board. Always a bit annoying... The matcha was good, the foam texture is very cool, however the cup was more ice than beverage. The cold brew was fine, nothing special but still tasty. I liked the vibes a lot when I walked in here. It's filled with plants and natural light, but then I looked around a bit more and the space just felt messy. There was stuff everywhere, boxes laying on the ground, and generally just a lot of clutter in the space. Overall, I think there are better coffee spots in South Lake Tahoe. If you're looking for Kava, give this place a go, but for coffee I would steer you somewhere else.

It would not be out of place in a three-Michelin-star dining room. He roasts every batch himself over a wood fire, feeding a beautiful old roaster with logs he chops by hand. His espresso blends are composed with a level of precision that feels almost synesthetic. Ask him what he is aiming for and he will describe the roast in shapes: how wide the base should be, whether it tapers or flares, how many sides the finished polygon has. I have stood there listening, fascinated, with no real idea what he is talking about, then tasted the cup and understood anyway. Important to know: this is not a coffee shop. There is no barista counter. It is a modest storefront and warehouse, and if you stop by you will likely see Tim at the roaster, stoking the fire. The aroma is arresting from the street. That wood fire imparts a signature note that sets his coffee apart. It does not turn smoky in the jerky sense. It reads as a gentle campfire thread running through the cup, adding warmth and dimension without heaviness. Since moving away from Reno I miss these beans enough that I cave and pay the shipping. I got a warm chai with regular milk. Temp was good but it did lack flavor. I could barely taste anything like the Chai or cinnamon. My fiancee got their seasonal drink. It was a spin on Dubai chocolate but made with white chocolate. My fiancee LOVED it! I tried it too and it was pretty good. Im just happy she liked it. Cute place with good vibes and friendly staff. We will be coming back and I will be trying the chai again.
