Thank you Maria for this event! The mood was set early with gorgeous people dressed to impress and a champagne toast before a short presentation of Yelp and Foodora. Foodora is a great concept for short distance food delivery by bike. It is green, it is efficient (average delivery time 30mins), and with local high quality restaurants it pleases foodies in Oslo. Unfortunately it is just starting up in Oslo and are not yet delivering to all zip codes. It is safe to say I am looking forward to their expansion in the future, and I hope to see even more continental restaurant on their list! Oslo city - Oslo pleasantly surprised me with its cleanliness, organization, and the number of…read moreinteresting places that can easily be explored on foot. I really like the combination of modern architecture, historic buildings, and abundant green spaces. The city center feels lively yet calm and safe at the same time. I also appreciated the excellent public transportation system, which makes it easy to reach every part of the city. Another major highlight is the proximity to the sea and the stunning views of the Oslo Fjord. Oslo is definitely one of those cities worth visiting more than once. I highly recommend purchasing a multi-day public transport ticket, as it also covers the ferries to the nearby islands, which are absolutely worth visiting. We were also impressed by the many historical landmarks scattered throughout the city.

Initially, we almost skipped Oslo due to time and money (we had to unfortunately nix Helsinki), but we wanted to go, even if only briefly, and I'm glad we did; two days is better than nothing! Due to our brief visit, we weren't able to do much, but we took a boat tour, went to the Nobel Peace Center, and saw Edvard Munch's "The Scream" at the National Gallery. I really liked Oslo and felt at peace there -- such a difference from Copenhagen and Berlin! My sister and I were pleased to discover a Starbucks near our hotel, which was quiet and relaxing, not dirty and crowded. In fact, everything in Oslo was clean and comfortable. Oslo had a small town feel to it, but I'm sure there's lots to do -- I just need to go back and discover all the amazing things I'm sure Oslo has to offer. The one thing I did not like were the taxis (see my reviews), but Oslo is pretty walkable, and hopefully there's ride sharing when I'm finally able to go back.
