I was super excited to try this place. I made a detour from Lubeck to Amsterdam just to try this. Dritan is a like a celebrity in the coffee world. Although I was pleased with my experience overall, It was not really what I was expecting. I went there expecting to be blown away by a speciality coffee shop and maybe get some good breakfast, but it turned out to be an amazing breakfast with decent coffee. If I was judging the coffee alone I might give it three stars. If I was judging this as a breakfast place I would give it five stars, but since I was expecting more focus on coffee I felt a little let down and took off one star. As far as the food; we ordered salmon Benedict and a salmon club sandwich. Every element was perfect, including the salad dressing on the side salad that came with the club sandwich. read more

Came in on a Saturday morning a little before 10AM and I got seated right away. Nice space and light; however it gets quite busy in here so you might have to do a little waiting if you come later in the day. Got a cappuccino and the pancakes, which were pretty good, although I do wish the pancakes were served a bit warmer. AND they have eggs benedicte on the menu. You won't find that in a lot of DD cafes. Would definitely be back! read more

After spending 2 days walking around Düsseldorf boatshow I wanted to give myself a treat by visiting my favorite IL BARISTA Dritan Alselas coffeehouse. Awesome coffee, single origin Mexican Bio, first an espresso, delightfully extracted, than a flat white, the brown color effect fully enhanced the beautiful latte art and the milk tasted round and had a bit of sweetness which balanced the Mexican bio excellently. I could not resist my favorite dish on the menu, Egg Benedictine, deliciously and tastefully prepared. Before heading back to my car and the autobahn I finalised my meal with a Käsetorte, difficult choice among the cakes, but this one was fresh and smooth.
