Diagnosed car wrong with AC. Caused multiple trips back for repairs. Never fixed it right. Wanted me to spend more money than needed on a new compressor that was not the problem. I only had a line with leaks in it. You get what you pay for! Place is dirty and owners kids are screaming, biting each other, and playing there games so laud you cant even concentrate while waiting. They also inly do business by text and don't want yo talk yo you. Continuing my previous review. Let me add to the pain, I ordered the Lexus part the broke along with 70.00 worth of gaskets. Since the error codes leaned on ignition and timing I pulled the covers to check timing belt settings, low and behold the rh cam shaft is one tooth off of time. So not only did we have to spend 200.00 in parts they broke I now have to reset the timing they didn't do right the first time. Oh and on the 2nd time we took the car back I told the mechanic he was a tooth off due to the OBD codes that they kept clearing. I have all the photos to back these claims up. My friend paid her in cash $1050.00 plus the 200.00 in the parts they damaged and now having to redo what was paid. They should do the right thing and refund her money. read more

Foolishly took my car there at least 3 times. Spent well over $2000 and the car STILL did not work properly. Knew them from a family friend and they still did not do a good job. Whatever you do, do NOT choose this mechanic. They did an incredibly poor job and charge you much more than they should. read more

I had an 11am appointment for yesterday morning, at noon they still hadn't pulled it in so I called an Uber and left the keys. No call yesterday, they don't have a working phone so everything is through texting. I texted this morning and was assured at 10am that I would hear shortly. Not a word. I texted at 2:45 and told them I'd be picking it up. They didn't apologize or offer any explanation. They never looked at the vehicle. Avoid at all costs. I am very happy and beyond satisfied with the service from Drivers Choice. Manager, Nick, and his crew get the job done right, with impeccable timing and scheduling flexibility. Our AC went out about 3 weeks ago in our car. Trust me when I say that it was hotter than the devil's armpit, here in SWFL during this time. It's always unreasonably hot and humid, but this year has been exceptionally bad. So, naturally, this is when our car decides to fail us. We got a quote from another shop with good reviews downtown Cape. They said it would take a full day and quoted us $2700 for the AC Compressor kit replacement. Well hot d@m%!! That's not something the average person has on hand during a pandemic. That other company offered a credit card, but we don't believe in credit cards. We'd rather pay in full, and therefore keep our debts to a minimum. So, i shopped around. I found some really good reviews about Nick and Drivers Choice, so I gave them a call. He quoted me $1200 out the door for he EXACT SAME service that another company previously quoted me. It was a no brainer. Good reviews, great price, friendly guy on the phone, what could go wrong? Nothing! I called on a Friday morning, around 9am. I was able to get a same day appt at 1pm, AAAANNDDD it would be finished by the time they closed! Are you kidding me?! I dropped the car off with Nick at 1pm, he was very friendly, not pushy/intimidating/sales-y like EVERY other mechanic shop out there. He confirmed all my information, and off I went! Right around 5pm when they closed, Nick called to say come and get her! I got an emailed receipt, picked up the car, and have been enjoying my 60° inside car temperature all weekend. As a follow up on my last post, my friend got drive her car 3 times after she picked it up. As I mentioned the mechanics cleared the codes and yet they came back same ones I pulled with my OBD scanner which were timing and positioning. I ordered the cross over pipe they JB Welded and started pulling things apart only to find this kind of work in the photos. ‼DO NOT RECOMMEND‼ They ripped my car apart and didn't put anything back together. Sensors left unplugged, wires left unplugged, pieces inside the car not put back, bolts everywhere. They don't give half a f*** about your vehicle. They didn't even figure out anything about the issue and still charged the diagnosis fee. read more

Don't use this repair shop. They lie right to your face. They take forever. 4/4 - 5/21 for a head gasket and fan. Told me part was wrong. Then told me part was taking longer bcuz of pandemic. I checked with 2 other local places and they said he was bulllshting. Parts were available. He gave every excuse under the sun. In my opinion, his mechanics don't know WTF they are doing. Never again! They were recommended to us, big mistake. They had our car for over a week without an update from them. We reached out and they told us their best mechanic was out and they would get him on it when he was back to work. $1,000 later and the car isn't fixed properly, someone or something hit our front bumper, the inside of our car is covered in dirty black hand prints and while we were waiting on the car when we went to pick up the mechanic took it for a "test drive" to pick up his lunch. read more

We towed 2 cars over to this shop on 3/9/21. A Honda Element and a Buick Enclave. Nick Fabrazzi (owner) called us and said they both needed new motors. He said he had an Element for parts with a motor he could "give us a good deal" on and it only had 120,000 miles on it. We expressed that the Buick also needed AC fixed, a new tire and alignment. Estimated time frame was 1 week for the Element and 1-2 weeks for the Buick. He had to wait to get the motor in for the Buick. We told him we really needed one of the vehicles for my husband to use for work. We called everyday and everyday we got the run around that it would be ready the next day. My mother in law paid within the first week, the total all together ended up being $6,397.59. After waiting for 3 weeks and no sign of anything being done, we went down there and told him we were pulling the plug and towing our vehicles out of there because we were sick of waiting. Our Buick was still in the same spot we left it 3 weeks prior on 3/9/21. The owner was confused, tried to make it right by saying he would give us the AC compressor and tire for free. We decided to give him another chance. The Honda was ready a few days later, but it was not running correctly. It kept revving and the idle was messed up. Things under the hood were missing, not connected and not bolted down, the seats are not properly clipped in and the floor is bubbled. We took it back, he fixed the main idling issue or so we thought but the quality of work under the hood was incompetent and the other issues were still not fixed. We didn't take it back again because we had been renting U-Hauls for my husband to go to work and taking Uber's and we were out of money. We expected the worst with the Buick. He called us and said the motor he put in was a bad motor and they had to wait to get a second one. We kept calling and driving by and our car was always just sitting there, not being worked on even after he said he already got the second motor. My husband went down there and sat there for 5 hours because he said it would definitely be ready that day (it was my son's 7th birthday 3/24) and he overheard the mechanic tell him it was still not working correctly and giving him issues. Moments later, the owner tried to walk my husband to his car and claimed it was already to go. My husband called him out and the owner played dumb. He said, oh I thought he said it was good to go. My husband left without the Buick again. Weeks went by and he finally called and said it was ready to go. I drove it to the DMV to get it registered and it was leaking oil badly (a new problem) and the AC was blowing out hot air. We took it back an hour later. We waited almost 3 more weeks for him to fix these issues. We got it back, ready for it....51 days later! (4/29) When we got it back, we expected the worst and we were so right. The oil leak is still there, one of our headlights no longer works, our fog lights do not work, lights on the stick shift no longer work, things not bolted down under the hood, parts missing, parts not connected, oil on the rugs and headliner, parts melted! Also, it has been hesitant to start since we got it back and the alignment is swaying back and forth over 40 mph. 20 days after getting it back (5/19) I was driving the Buick to take my daughter to dance and the vehicle died and started smoking and will not start. I had to have it towed to my house and it sits in my driveway until we can either figure out what's wrong or take it to the junkyard. I also just found the Honda Element he had parked in his lot that he is selling for parts. It says the odometer is at 240,000, so that means he lied to me and told me that the motor he replaced had 120,000 miles less than it really did. This shop is shady, dishonest, incompetent scammers. They lack integrity and hardly even made an attempt to let us know what was going on. This was a nightmare I hope no one else has to go through, but unfortunately I have already spoke to others and one guy has been waiting an entire year for his motor to be fixed! Please save yourself the money, trouble, and heartache! I am filing a complaint with the BBB, the FDACS, the FTC and I'm taking him to small claims court. read more

I ended up having my vehicle towed away and spent thousands correcting what they were supposed to have fixed plus the damage they did attempting to fix my car. read more

I took my daughter's car to this shop and had her power steering pump replaced and they forgot to put power steering fluid in we took the car back and told them it wasn't working and he said he told his employee to put it in when they finished the repair and they didn't do it . We told them that the car broke down and we wanted them to replace it at his expense and he refused . So don't go to this place he rips people off and tells you it's your fault. read more

This place is terrible and the 5 star ratings are erroneous. I brought my vehicle in to have a transmission seal put in and it turned into the biggest nightmare ever. The service is unprofessional. I spoke with 3 shop owners in the general vicinity and they all said this establishment is a joke when it comes to fixing cars. You don't have all these 1 ratings for nothing. Believe the 1 ratings, question the 5 ratings. The fives are a friend and family specials. I've filed a complaint with the Secretary of State and BBB. I'm following up with the others that have posted 1 star ratings to collectively shut the doors on these cons. Drivers Choice should be called, "Walkers Choice". You'll end up driving a pair of Nikes if you let these guys get under your hood. Waiting on a response from management, so I can post pictures. read more

I had to get my front speakers fixed, a window wasn't rolling up or down, and previously I had gone to get my passenger mirror fixed. They were very helpful. When there was an issue after getting the right passenger speaker fixed I came is as soon as I noticed and they fixed it, no problem. Prices seem very fair for the work being done. The water pump in my 2015 Audi was leaking and when brought to the dealership, they quoted me around $2,000 to fix it. I called around and even found places that worked specifically on German cars, and no one seemed to want to work on it. Driver's Choice was recommended to me by a co-worker and they did not disappoint! Went to driver's Choice on Friday for an alignment. Was told I also needed 4 new tires. 3 1/2 hours and $350 later, I left there and drove 5 miles down the road and got a flat! Of course the shop was already closed, so I put the spare on and drove back there first thing Monday morning. Was told by the owner NICK, that my rim was bent, yet I hadn't hit anything (not even a pothole) and the rim was supposedly OK when they put the tires on Friday? Said that they would NOT cover a new tire, but would give it to me at a discount. After spending ANOTHER 2 hours there on Monday, they told me I had to come back on Tuesday to get the tire on. Get there Tuesday, and they tell me I have to wait again to get the tire on (even though they knew I was coming) Couldn't wait any longer, as I had to get to work. So now $400+ and 6+ hours later, I left with the tire in my trunk so I can put it on myself. HORRIBLE customer service and HORRIBLE mechanics that obviously don't know what they're doing. Even tried to tell my daughter (who had JUST had new tires put on the day before at another shop) that she needed new tires when she had just come to them for an alignment. Spent half a grand here in a week on a new alternator and starter, my car broke down the next day having the same issues it had when I brought it in. My car would die in the middle of driving and my gauges would start going crazy. Also already had a brand new battery, and it's an xterra so the starter has been replaced like 7 times since we've had it (yes, we finally replaced the valve gasket covers a couple years ago). They also had my car for about a week -had to take it in twice because the alternator didn't fix it and I broke down on my way HOME from work, then they decided it was the starter the last day they had it when I blew their phones up after I had to find a ride to work all week- and I probably received one call with an update? Called the owner after I broke down again on my way to work who laughed and said he had seen my car broken down in the median and didn't even bother to reach out after they'd had my car for so long. O refused even a partial refund- stating he'd already cut me a bunch of deals (I believe his exact words were "I'm already not charging as much as I should"). Disputed with my CC company and it was declined, because they can apparently send THEM the information they need (i.e. an itemized receipt (which I'm sure they hastily put together when requested) and payment receipt), but couldn't be bothered to leave it in my truck when I picked it up after hours because they waited til they were almost closed to start on it, seemingly. Was referred here by a friend/business owner who was shocked by this and won't be advertising for them anymore. Anyone who asks for a mechanic, I will not be recommending Driver's Choice in Cape Coral. Long story short, I had to buy a new car cause I'm sick of being screwed over by mechanics/Florida business owners who don't have a conscience. If you are looking for a mechanic shop that will not rip you off, has better rates than most, if not all, come to Driver's Choice. Oil changes, can't beat the price. Alignment, can't beat quality or price. Best prices I've found on tires, too. No matter what vehicle, they seem to do anything mechanical. I came across them abt 5 yrs ago. I'd been doing business with another shop but felt like I was getting ripped off. Turns out, I was. How many mechanics will tell you, "I won't work on your car anymore because it's going to Dollar you to death"? He actually said that. I'd had a couple repairs done then, after a while my old van from up north, started getting bad and major components getting iffy, as well as the undercarriage rust. I've only had one other shop that I had 100% confidence in & they are up north. I have no problem, then or now, telling them, do whatever it needs. No fear of risk to others that ride in my car, that may drive my car, nor others on the roads. Best tire prices, too. If you need a mechanic, aren't sure about the mechanic you go to, DEFINITELY call Nick and get your vehicle taken care of. Rest assured, your vehicle will be well taken care of. And your wallet won't have a nervous breakdown. They are the only shop I go to, the only one I recommend. They have a great crew and do great work. I took my 2000 Ford F1 50 into Nick to get my AC repaired they said it was an AC compressor they put a new one in. Two years later it's seized up and broke, I went back in there because that's where the work was originally done and they said it was not under warranty anymore but they would get me a new one and just charge me for the parts no labor. Which I was very appreciative of well needless to say three days after putting in the new AC compressor that one seized up also took it back to them they put another one and it wasn't blowing cold by the next day. Went back to see them again they said it was my condenser another $350 part after that it worked for about a week and then it went out again I would not recommend taking your vehicle in here to getThe air conditioning fixed they might be great at tires and changing oil but they do not know how to fix and air conditioning system I did not go back in there after the third time because I'm not going to keep spending money on parts when they don't even know what they're doing I just cut my losses and I'll drive around sweating again thanks for nothing read more
