Yelp Review 2026 #134:
I'm allergic to perfumy soaps and lotions so, I bring my own when I'm traveling. But on our first night in Zurich, we were staying at a hotel that had really nice smelling toiletries so, I had to use them - that was day 1 of our Swiss vacation and I had been covered in itchy, painful, red rashes all over...and also have been gaslighting myself that things will get better and the problem will just go away after a couple of days. But things did not get better, the problem didn't go away after a couple of days.
Fast forward to a week...I took a train to Bern and I can't deal with the itchiness anymore. As soon as I got out of the train station early in the morning, I started looking for a pharmacy and I saw DROPA Apotheke.
The stuff they were selling like toothpaste, shampoo, lotion are all huge. And I've never seen a pharmacy that sells fireworks but they have them here! LOL.
The lady behind the counter helped me. I asked if they had calamine lotion - it's not a thing in Switzerland. I told her what I needed and she gave me 2 options for medicated lotions. Since I'm not familiar with what formulations they use for their lotions, I went with the milder option. Switzerland is expensive period. And the tube of lotion cost me 25CHF. It gave me itch relief and the rashes started to go away after a few days. It saved me from another week of itching. read more
