Front office can be a bit snobbish. But doctors are amazing. Dr. Chasin told me about a few eye conditions I had, and even referred me to another doctor because of my cataracts. Gave me appropriate glasses. I am also allergic to all eye dialators, and I was comfortable knowing that the office does not do any dilating to any patient. Would go back in a heartbeat. read more

I didn't want to submit a bad review for a local independent business but given the circumstances I will post my experience. Last Friday I came for an appointment before work for an eye exam here. I arrived on time, the staff was friendly and professional. I was in the exam w/ Dr Guarente when a friendly staff member entered the room and offered to adjust my glasses. I said sure. Moments later they returned and advised they damaged them and rendered them unwearable. I took it in stride at the time and they put my old prescription lenses in another set of frames that fit (however poorly/clunky)- no big deal. A temporary inconvenience as I was expecting to potentially get new frames if they met my budget. "Things happen.." I told myself. I actually thought they would at least offer a discount for new frames since they just broke my old ones. That never happened. After the exam (and with the less desirable replacement frames they handed me) I sat for a fitting w/ one of their eyeglass stylists. Again- everyone was very friendly. I chose some frames and was told that I would be called w/ a price quote later. I left for work and got a call moments later and the stylist I was just with advised they forgot to do measurements and that I had to come back. I explained I couldn't (I was at work) and that I had to come back after the weekend. Fine I guess. Then what? In the wee hours of last Sunday morning that staff member/stylist had located me on social media and began 'liking' my content then several hours later submitted a 'friend request'. They were up all night long looking at my social media. I have the time stamps. It's creepy and a clear violation of patient privacy. This individual has access to my patient info/home address etc. When I alerted their office about this their solution was to have a talk w/ them about HIPAA (patient privacy laws) and that I had to take it upon myself to go somewhere to have my OLD glasses repaired then come BACK to their office and submit for reimbursement. After having my property damaged and my privacy violated they offered a pretty unacceptable solution- basically saying they would talk to their employee and I have to drive somewhere else and find someone to fix what they broke and then go BACK to their location AGAIN. The experience ultimately left me feeling creeped out and devalued. Dr Guarente and most of the staff seemed really friendly and nice. I just wanted an exam and new glasses. It was only after some exchanges in the wake of this to try to resolve it I've felt increasingly resentful. I guess from their POV they were trying to 'make it better' but they damaged my property and one of their employees was up all night stalking me and then their feeble solution was to send me on a mission to fix their mistake and come back again when that stylist is not on location to get properly fitted for new frames. I cannot in good conscience go about recommending them to friends, neighbors or co-workers at this time. Kind of a bummer. I had high hopes going in. Oh well, I'll seek another optometrist and hope for a better experience. read more

Dr Guarente and his staff couldn't be more friendly, helpful, patient and professional. I feel like I am part of their family when I walk in to have an exam or pick up my contacts. I highly recommend their office for your eye care needs. read more

I've been going to Dr. Chasin forever and they've always been great , but recently I needed a little extra help with some glasses and a concern about a vision change, they went above and beyond to fit me in the schedule and Nancy's help with the glasses purchase was great. She really went the extra step as did Dr. Chasin. So grateful to be in such compete and caring hands. read more

The doctors and staff are very knowledgeable. Friendly atmosphere, and very short waiting room times. They also offer more detailed eye tests that I have never received at other offices. Since macular degeneration runs in my family I was very happy that detailed tests were offered for early detection of this and that they took the time to sit with me explaining preventative practices to lessen the potential of getting it. read more

The eye exam is very thourough with the latest technoligy and Dr Guarente explained everything so I understood it. They will show you thye results of the eye scans and explain any issues. I had a pretty painful eye injury, and they would not see me. In fact, they did not return my call for 72 hours, by which time I had had to go to urgent care, which was teeming with COVID-19 cases. But what choice did I have? I couldn't open my eye/work! I shared this with the receptionist when I called them a second time, and was told I could not see any other doctor other than the one I had "a rapport with" (I saw Dr. Chasin once, hardly "a rapport) and that they could not even so much as tell me when they might call me back with an answer so that I could make other arrangements (again, the next call I received was three days later...). I suppose they were fine for a regular eye exam (although Dr. Chasin did take an incredibly long time; leave more than an hour for your visit), if you find yourself in the unfortunate position of needing unscheduled help, you cannot count on this office to accommodate you. I've moved on; I suggest you skip this practice and ideally avoid the unpleasant and frustrating experience of having to scramble for care when you are desperate and in pain. read more

I always have a positive experience when I visit the office. I have been going to them for 3 years and always receive great service. Even my old glasses were loose and chipped and Dr Guraente went right to Leo to see what he could do and of course Leo fixed them like they had never been broke. I have run out of contacts and they have fronted me some until I received my new ones. They have a Christmas party for their patients every year to say thank you for their patronage. I don't know any other doctors that do that. read more

Very, very pleased. Went for an initial visit after being referred by a long term patient of Dr. Chasin. His assistant first did a battery of tests, from low-tech to high-tech. Was then seen quickly by Dr. Chasin who did a thorough examination and explained the results of all the tests very clearly. He even spent time letting me know how to get the most of our my insurance plan, which an optometrist has never done for me before. They canceled my first appointment. My new appointment was scheduled for this Thursday, but they called earlier to say the appointment was actually today, and I missed it. Then they said the next available appointment is in June. If you're thinking of going here, don't. Find a place that doesn't waste your time. read more
