Not sure what made me weary about this store but something told me to watch the register when checking out as I'm new in town and live in the neighborhood. My 3 rd visit here I was double charged and only got it over turned after I said something about it. It could be coincidence but something tells me it's not. I won't revisiting this establishment because the vibes are not it personally and I suggest others who do carefully monitor what they are being charged. I have been mostly frequenting a different liquor store on Williams for the last few years because I like the people and their beer and bourbon selections are impressive. A chance visit to a different store on San Tomas caused me to realize my favorite store has been playing me for a tater where bourbon prices are concerned, so I started shopping around for a new favorite. After one visit to Dry Creek Liquor last weekend they are now my new #1! Walking in to the store I was a little deflated. It is not very big and I quickly realized their bourbon was all on two sets of back-to-back shelves. I immediately spied a lot of more common stuff and thought, "well it was worth a try." Then I began to study the selection closer. Oh, they have three bottles of Old Carter for $199, that's suggested retail price, wow. The other two places I have seen this label recently are charging the secondary market sucker price of $299. Going around to the back side of the shelves I found many desirable bourbons and ryes, all at straight up retail price, no crazy tater markups. Things were looking up. The man at the counter was busy ringing up patrons, but when he finished he stepped over and asked, "bourbon, huh?" I nodded. He retrieved a bottle of Hancock's Presidential Reserve. I said, "It's good, but I already have one." Then he said the magic words, "Smoke Wagon then?" I didn't see it, it's almost impossible to get because one of the big influencers rated it #1 of 2020, so I just accepted that I would never see one unless it was marked way up. So I asked, "price?" He pointed them out, "$65 for the uncut and $55 for the other one." Okay, what? That's actually $5 a bottle BELOW suggested retail. I took the last uncut. Score. I felt bad taking the last bottle of something so good at below retail, so I also grabbed a 12-pack of the mixed flavor White Claw Hard Seltzers. I've been meaning to try them. 100 calories, bubbly and a little fruity, seemed like a fit for me. Turns out they weren't. Calories equal flavor, so that was missing. Worth a shot. Dry Creek Liquor has earned my respect and my business after just one visit for having the integrity not to jack up prices on desirable bottles, and for the fellow who offered me his last good bottle of something when he didn't even know me. I'll be back again this weekend to add another to my collection. As I finish this review I'm wondering if I should post it. Am I giving away a potential secret spot? After mentioning the Old Carter will some FOMOs (fear of missing outers) pounce before I get back for one? Dry Creek Liquor!! Is this place family owned? It sure seems like it is family owned. During my visit, the whole staff was polite, caring, and so knowledgeable with their inventory. TEQUILA is what I came in for and TEQUILA is what I left with. This place is above and beyond amazing. Over 100 bottles of no additives tequila from very fine original tequila making distilleries. If you are a tequila drinker, this will be your candy store. As a matter of fact, they had all kinds of liquor from whiskey, cognac, vodka and a wide range of beers.. I highly recommend you stop by the store and take a look at the wonderful inventory they have. Please subtract 1 Star. First impressions count. When I walked into the store, there were a few of the workers, and, the owner standing around the register with no masks on. They did put them on after I entered. Two of the gentlemen followed me and then a third came running around the corner when I reached the back of the store where the beers are stored. IDK? Maybe I looked suspicious in my mask. IDK? A friend of mine asked me to pick up a six-pack of Drakes Denoginger Double Ipa 12oz and a small bag of pork rinds. I stopped in here because I read here on Yelp that they had a wide selection of beer. These items came to a grand total of $18.00. Interestingly enough, the receipt was not itemized. Overprice much Dry Creek Liquor? I will not return nor would I recommend this place. read more

Has everything I like(7 Leguas, G4, Fortaleza, Cazcanes, Tapatio, Don Julio, El Tesoro, Ocho...) and plenty more for me to explore. This is a really good local liquor store that has a huge selection of spirits and wines! You can actually tell they put effort and thought into what they buy there because you have so many more options that some of the basic variety brands you find at many small liquor stores. I bought a tequila there that was pretty darn good ( I think it was Terra Alta Tequila) , it was pretty strong but still went down smooth. As a bonus, the guys there are super friendly and very helpful. It annoys me when I go into a place and the person behind the counter is talking on the phone or hardly acknowledges me. I don't live by this liquor store, but the one time I did stop here, I ended up buying some scratchers and I WON. I not only won on one ticket, but I won on 5 out of 6 of them lol. So ever since then, I will always make a point of pulling over when I am just passing through the area. When I came in here, I actually stopped in for a snack and decided to grab some scratchers while I was there. Before I left, the owner, who is always there, wished me luck. He didn't say it just because I bought a ticket; he said it and actually meant it. I was so happy when I won, that I went back to cash it there, and to thank the man who wished me luck. I don't know why that meant so much to me, but it did, and for that I will always come back!! Today, my husband and I specifically stopped in just to get some Powerball tickets, and scratchers. The man (owner) was on the phone the whole time, but he was still responding to all of our questions. I didn't win on my scratchers, but while on the phone, that man still wished my husband and I luck. Beer selection and customer service at Dry Creek Liquor are great. They are very friendly and appreciate repeat business. I just noticed they brought in Bear Republic Brewing Co. beers out of Sonoma. I'm a fan. To get some more stars out of me you need two things. Firstly, I need more Bourbon. Bulleit as their flagship Bourbon? Please. At least get Woodford or Maker's. I mean seriously. Also, why would you stock every single vitamin water flavor except the ones I like. Get Revive and Focus, dammit!! I have been stopping in for years for basic liquor needs. Staff is always friendly and polite. Today I was looking for Blantons whiskey. It's surprisingly hard to find and when you do it's often marked up to 90 dollars a bottle. They had it and priced fair at 64. You cannot find a better all around place in the area. They have great selection, great prices, and the best customer service. I found this place when I was new to the area and went in looking for some basic bourbon. They not only had the main things I was looking for but also had some hard to find items. What surprised me was that they were not price gouging like most others stores in the area. Jas is one of the main people and is phenomenal! What impressed me most is that there was about two week span between my first encounter with him and my next trip to the store, yet he still remembered my name and what types of products I was interested in. I don't think I have experienced this anywhere. On top of that he has gone out of his way to help me find some whiskey I was looking for, and then gave some other great recommendations too. If you need good beer but don't want to go BevMo or the super market then Dry Creek is the place to come. They have one of the best selection of craft beer for a liquor store along with wine selection. Their liquor selection is ok but most of it is stuff you could find anywhere. They are also one of the few stores that sell Lucky Strikes, which is hard to find. read more
