I find this a really easy way of picking out pieces to try on together - it's obviously a clever attempt to get you to buy more and I admit it sometimes works on me! A stark, light filled white space wreathed by lipstick red on the building's outer shell; Rred instantly pushes the focus onto its' stock and it's stock alone. All this is generally supplemented by the sounds of indie-electro-pop-alternative, depending on the day and season, which is as good a reflection of the clothing on offer's style as anything else. As for the clothes, Rred produces only a few simple basic clothes designs each season, but makes them with one off or limited run textiles and fabrics, so there's only a couple of each particular garment. Annoyingly, many of the clothes are often 'one size fits all' with all the usual ambiguity as to what exactly that size is, but the stiffer fabrics are generally utilised for the looser cuts and stretchy fabric for the tighter fitting items. There's also a rack of retro/secondhand clothes that throws out some real finds. Among the things that Rred does best is shoes, with a range of boots and/or footwear each season in a wide range of colours, but often themed around a similar, modern-idea-of-an-old-time-y-cobbler's-work aesthetic. Prices generally fall between the $20 to $150 bracket. The clothes are all well cared for, and the staff helpful without being too pushy.

The first one has only suits and formal male attire while the other is much bigger and has both mens and women's clothing, surfwear and accessories. I have noticed a few more cheaper women's items sneaking in recently though so there is occasionally a few good bargains on offer. The store is always well air-conditioned and pleasant. The staff are friendly and you are guaranteed a good conversation. I tend to go in there to gawk at pretty scarves and have a little dream about one day being able to afford $80 for such a gorgeous silk accessory before I head down to one of the op shops nearby for some clothes I can definitely afford. In saying that, people who are more well off or like spending money on these things will be right at home here and the clothes are damn nice. The quality of the fabric is obvious and the items here are the kind that you will want to keep in your wardrobe forever.

The prices in here can be a little high considering most of the products are second hand but the environment in the shop is fantastic and there are a lot of great finds in the one place...so it wont stop me going back. There are groovy vintage accessories and vintage looking accessories like button rings and hand knitted brooches. These are around $15 and up. The shop itself is decorated in vintage posters and pictures of vintage fashion. Walking in here is enough to get you hooked on vintage and the idea of recycled clothing. It is open from 10am to 5pm every day although it is closed on Tuesdays and Sundays. The shop is a really great place to go and get something that no one else will have and the staff here are really friendly and love talking vintage. Get on down and check it out!

The cons of these stores are the feeling you get, knowing that if you'd found these items at the Salvos you'd pay half the price, however the Pros are that you don't have to do the hunting. The clothes are usually of the 60's & 70's period, with great shirts and pants for the guys, plus heaps of funky vintage dresses for the ladies. With the prices as they are, your usual trip here will see you grab one or two items, as whatever the price, the stuff is always good and worth trying on for size.
